Plan of Action
Ladies and Gentlemen! I have some very unfortunate news for you all. But the next chapter will be its final. Please do not weep. This has been a very exciting journey for me and I'm sure for all of you as well.
Also, I threw in a small reference in here as well. Wanna try and guess which series it's from? I'll give you a hint! It's in one of the dialogue.
Thank you for the support and as always... ENJOY!
Everyone in the base sat down in the meeting room, discussing their plan.
"I was thinking Tina could distract Goldy by talking to her for as long as possible while I take this pickaxe to break unicorn out." Ryan suggests.
They sent Derp and Danny to go to the roof and check out what's going on. Goldy was there, obviously, and. They were able to hide for about a minute to find he was caged up before getting caught.
They would've also used the portal to escape but it was blocked off with enchanted iron bars. So it was a no go.
"Yeah! And if it's not long enough Tony and I will can be as bait to stall for time." Kat suggests. Tony nods in agreement.
"You'd do that for us kat?" Tina says.
"Of course!"
"We have a good plan but I don't know how we can destroy that necklace even with unicornman here." Ryan says feeling a little stressed.
Tina noticed this.
"It's what we have so far right?" She asks.
"Well yeah-"
"Then that's what we got! I'm sure when we get unicorn back we'll have a stronger plan then!" Tina yelled optimistically.
A slight curve forms on Ryan's lips. Since the whole 'Goldy becoming evil' thing, it's like Tina's more determined than before. He felt proud of her.
"So, are we all ready?" He asks.
"We're ready!" The SSS yells in unison.
Tina, Ryan, Kat, and Tony were on the outside of the base. Everyone else were to stay inside and guard everything in case Goldy wanted to attack. Not everyone is suited for playing offense.
"Are you ready Ryan?" Tina puts a hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah." He reply's calmly.
Goldy slid a plate of a sandwich to unicorn, whose still in his cage of course, who's sulking and pouting in a corner away from her.
"C'mon unicorn! You have to eat something! It's been a few hours." She says worriedly.
They'd been up there for quite a while now. On the roof just... waiting. It's like as they say, real geniuses plan out and wait. Patients is key. However Goldys own patients was wearing thin because of Unicornmans' stubbornness!
"Hmpth! I don't wanna!" He pouts. Goldy's posture softens, a slight grin forming on her lips. She couldn't stay mad at him forever. He's just so darn cute when he pouts! She puts tinfoil over the plate so flies won't get to it.
There was a rumble, quiet loudly even. He was hungry for a while now but didint want to give her to the satisfaction. He defeatedly unwrapped the tinfoil of the triangle cut sandwich and ate it with a pout on his face.
While he's eating, Goldy grabs a chair and sets it down near him, facing backwards, she separates her legs to sit down. She places her elbows on the edges, intertwining her fingers and rests her head on them. Goldy smiles at him, admiring the way he eats.
"What are you looking at?" He asks in a childlike tone.
"Just admiring you."
Unicorn blushes, avoiding eye contact. She giggles at how pink his cheeks are.
"I can make lunch for you whenever I can if you want."
"F-for now at least."
It wasn't surprising that unicornman ate it all
up that quickly. He must of been hungry.
Goldy suddenly stands up and hands out a book towards him. She smiles. He looked at it for a few seconds, not realizing what it is. Confused, he takes it anyway. He opens the first few pages and his eyes widen when he quickly figured out what it was.
"You got back my diary?"
He was surprised by this offer, although he should've saw this coming.
"Of course I did. Why wouldn't I?"
"Thank you." He puts it away, not really knowing what else to say.
"No problem." Goldy smiles, feeling accomplished.
"When can I got out of here!" He blurts out.
She sighs. "Like I said before hun, not until Tina and Ryan learn their lesson."
"And what'll that be?"
"I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Heeehee~" She smirks.
"But they're your friends! Tina I get a little, but what about Ryan?"
"Hmm." She thinks for a moment. "I like Ryan, but he takes Tina's side almost the whole time. While I appreciate his warnings and small gestures of defending me, he still sticks with her."
"I understand where you're coming from but they're my friends too! If you really cared about me you wouldn't hurt my friends!"
"Tch! Don't give me that when they both pulled some harsh stuff on you too! And I'm not gonna 'hurt' them, just gonna mess around with them for a while so they know how I felt."
"At least I'm not the one who's holding grudges here. A friendship isn't perfect. Yeah there's some arguments here and there but they're still my family..." Unicorns expression drops. "Probably my only family."
He looks down, a few painful memories resurfacing.
"Why should they be your family when they're constantly against you? I know they're gonna come to me eventually! That's why we have to wait, so I can throw out my best attacks then. What's the fun of just going for it when I can give Ryan and Tina a chance to fight back to? There's no fun in that."
She grins mischievously, walking to the cage and slipping her arm between the bars. She gently holds Unicorns hand, who still remained his determinedly angry look.
"Plus, why have them when I can have you all to myself?" A soft smile grazed her features, eyes almost sparkling.
However, Goldy was too distracted to notice Ryan, Tina, and the others at the bottom of the stairs listening in on their conversation the whole time.
"Ok guys, stay here and hide behind the stairs until I run down here, got it?" Tina whispers.
"Yeah!" Ryan agrees.
Tina quickly runs up and shoots Goldy in the back with her Slingshot without her looking. Unicorn looks surprised.
Goldy turns around, an angered expression appears on her face the moment their eyes met. The nerve!
Tina runs down the stairs as fast as she can.
"I'll be right back unicorn!" Goldy says quickly before flying down the stairs to catch up with her.
Unicorn shakes the bars in frustration wanting to get out and help defend her. Tina doesn't stand a chance against her! But to his surprise he sees Ryan running towards him holding a pickaxe. Within a split second, he breaks the bars and pulls him out.
Unicorn didn't even have time to process what's happening. He's just so happy to be out of that stupid cell!
He hugs Ryan tightly.
"Oh thank god Ryan! I've been in there for so long! You don't even know!" He cry's a little bit on his shoulder.
"Yeah, Yeah, whatever you big baby. Get to Tina's base as soon as possible!"
"Wait!" He cries out.
"Huh?" Ryan questions.
"I have this thing." Unicorn gives Ryan a techno-looking gun, it looks complicated.
"What is this?" He asks.
"I was gonna give this to Goldy before all of this but it seems like a better time to show this to you now so..."
"What does it do?" He asks.
"It shoots a high voltage laser at your opponent. With this switch here you can increase the level of damage it can do, but the higher it is the chances of it self destructing is increased."
Ryan's eyes widened as he realized something.
"Wait, you were gonna give this to her as a present?!"
"...yeah?"
"Why?!"
"I wanted to be entertained, but that's not important right now. Try it out and see if you can handle it." Unicorn suggests.
"Okay... I'll give it a shot." Ryan says.
He aims it upwards towards the glass above them, attempting to try and break it. He set it on level two and pulled the trigger.
A hot blue beam shot out of it and when it hit the glass it automatically bounced off and hit the roof of the daycare, almost near them, blowing a whole through the stone.
"Oops." Was he had to say.
Unicorn sighed.
"You're gonna need some work with this. You think Tina can stall for time?"
"I think so." He quickly texts her.
Broke unicorn out, stall time for us?
She quickly replied.
on it
Ryan has to think quick, Tina was strong but she's not invincible. And they can't put any of the slingshot squad members out there, bolting rocks at Goldy would do nothing and he couldn't risk any of them getting hurt.
They run to the SS base practicing their battle attack.
Goldy had Tina backed into a corner, with her lightsaber out. Tina stood at one end of a hallway with Goldy standing across from her. She blankly stared at her.
Goldy giggles. "Go ahead, hit me. See what happens!"
Tina was angry, fury built up inside her, and the protection of her friends motivated her. She launched herself towards Goldy. Just as it was about to hit her head, she quickly brought up the force field and added extra force to it.
This brought a scared Tina flying back to the wall, hitting her back hard. She was at twelve hearts.
Goldy was wondering wether or not it was brave or stupid.
It didint take long for Goldy to realize that unicorn was gone. She was real angry and put all her anger out on Tina. It didn't matter though, she had more important things to focus on.
Tina forced herself up, panting. She felt tired and weak. Even if she could flee she can't. She was already trapped.
She hated to admit this but she felt useless. She could've done more to protect her friends. Even though Goldy is completely stronger than her, the thought lingers in her mind that she could've done better. She could've been that strong willed person that her dad and the Slingshot Squad sees her to be.
She failed everyone. It wasn't her fault but she couldn't help it.
Goldy noticed this and smiled wickedly. Seeing Tina at her lowest is what she always wanted to see. It was way more than just payback or revenge at this point. She wants her to feel EXACTLY how she felt in the past when she was killed by both her and Ryan over and over.
It did something to Goldy that she couldn't understand. And she didn't want to face it at the time.
Goldy has to hold herself back, she cant permanently kill Tina, no. Seeing her in despair like this gave her this high.
And she wanted to see it more.
"You know looking back I would've never done something like this, but I didn't realize how much fun this could be." She smiles.
"You don't have to do this." Tina says weakly.
"It doesn't change the fact that every insult you threw at me and every weapon you stabbed through me has led to this very moment!"
Tina doesn't say anything, she keeps her head lowered to the ground, practically cowering, so Goldy continues.
"Remember all the times you've killed me? Remember all the times you've hated me for liking Ryan because I was 'too close to him?' Remember the time you locked me up in a glass box and made everyone insult me? Except unicornman of course."
Tina doesn't respond, she continues.
"Well, guess what Tina? Delusion isn't love."
She sniffs. "You're cruel Goldy."
"I prefer the term, getting a taste of your own medicine. You know Tina, you really shouldn't cry!"
"I-I know I don't show it much and I have a really bad way of showing it but I... I-I really don't hate you!"
"I find it hard to believe since one moment you're laughing and joking with me and the next you're celebrating my banishment of the daycare."
"If I don't hate you then why would I trust you with my family heirloom!"
"You mean the trust you gave me before you threatened and screamed in my face because Ryan gave you a false statement? By the way, your heirloom is what helped create this fine piece of jewelry around my neck."
She holds the heart in her hand for a moment.
Tina gasps.
"Y-you stole my eye for your own use?!"
"Oh don't get so emotional. I was gonna give it back cause I was borrowing it, but you pushed me to my limits. So I couldn't help myself."
Looking back on it now, maybe Tina should've been a little easier on goldy. But her selfishness got in the way of that. Now she's evil and is now her main target. The tides have turned haven't they? She was supposed to use her strength to protect but instead she used it on an overly oblivious girl who had no interest in Ryan whatsoever.
Why did it have to come to this for her to realize how stupid she was.
"How long have you been holding grudges Goldy?"
"For a wile now, just had to temporarily cover it up. I wanted to stay positive you know? Hah! But no, look where we are now!"
She walks a little ways closer to her, intimidating Tina.
"G-Goldy I-I never know you felt that way." She says, not really knowing what to say.
"You never took the time to notice. Consider this karma."
Goldy suddenly feels a sharp pain in her back. She screams, falling forward. Tina takes this chance and runs behind Ryan.
"Stay back you evil villain!" Ryan yells. Pointing the laser towards her.
Goldy sharply turns her head around, her eyes dark red with anger, Ryan attempts a few more shots to her necklace to try to destroy it but she was quickly avoiding them.
His face fell as she runs towards them until unicorn steps between them to intervene.
"Unicorn what are you doing?" Goldy says. Looking at him like he was stupid.
"I'm not gonna let you hurt my friends!"
"Please, I can do whatever I want with them. Just because I like you doesn't give you a free pass!"
"Wait what?" Ryan says.
"I-I'll tell you guys later." Unicorn lightly blushes of embarrassment.
"Ryan I think I can handle this." Tina says quietly, her eyes now dull with a blank expression. She walks forward towards goldy and lightly pushes unicorn out the way.
"W-what? What are you doing get back here-"
She turns her head and stares at him with no expression and zero shame. That look terrified him, mainly because the way she looked so serious. Tina wasn't giving up. She doesn't know what she's getting herself into.
"I can handle this Ryan, unicorn."
She looks at Goldy.
"They're not involved." She says.
"Oooh! I see." She summons iron bars that connect from the ceiling to floor. Ryan runs to them.
"Tina stop! She'll hurt you!"
She ignores them.
"So what are you gonna do now? You know full well that I have power over you."
Tina takes a deep breath.
"Goldy, you're my friend. I know I should've realized it sooner but I mean it."
"Sure. You're just saying that just to get on my good side but whatever. It's not happening."
"I mean it! Doing all of this isn't gonna make you happy-"
"Seeing you suffer is what I wanted all this time!"
"Is having your friends fear you what you wanted all this time?!"
She smirks. "What friends?"
It stung Tina but she had to keep pushing her.
"What about unicornman?"
"I'll get him back eventually."
"Goldy-"
"What?!"
She was getting annoyed. Tina was wasting her time.
"I care about you and I mean it." Tina says determinedly.
"Have a pretty crap way of showing it."
That one got to her. A few tears were streaming down her cheeks without her control. She knows now if this doesn't work, Goldy will never go back to normal. It will just be an endless cycle of cat and mouse that will never be resolved.
Everyone in the daycare will live their days feeling fearful of Goldy until she eventually feels bored of all of them.
Goldys patients was wearing thin and she had to act now.
Tina took a step forward.
"Ever since you entered the daycare, I kept holding this grudge on you that I couldn't seem to let go of. At first it was because you liked Ryan but... then you changed. It was obvious, I always saw that."
"Stop it." Goldy says.
She took a step forward.
"After a while you became more happy and optimistic. And I was jealous of you! Really jealous of you." Tina sadly looked down, regret now entering her head.
"Stop it!"
She took a step forward, now looking straight into Goldys eyes.
"There was something about you that anyone could be attached with. I kept attacking you because I kept on comparing myself to you and it eventually became a habit that permanently became a part of me. I was never the same since. I thought you were prettier than me, smarter than me, livelier than me."
"Stop it! I will kill you if you keep this up!" Goldy had tears in her eyes, holding up a familiar wooden sword.
"Every time I saw you, you reminded me of someone that I used to be but I can't anymore. I was beating myself up over it for months on end and put that self hate onto you. I regret every bit of it looking back now."
"I said shut up!" She pushed Tina to the floor. She imagined hitting Tina over and over with the wooden sword. Goldy finalized her decision in permanently killing her, not wanting to hear all this nonsense.
But Tina kept trucking through, having to ignore the distressed cry's of Ryan and unicorn.
"Without you in the daycare it would be more boring and less active without you here. The rare moments where we did get along for a short moment... I stopped myself from getting to close to you."
Goldy pounced on her, hitting Tina over and over.
"I-I was scared! M-my trust on you was decreasing and you didn't d-deserve any of it! PLEASE STOP AND LET ME EXPLAIN." She cried out desperately with only half a heart left.
Goldy stoped only because she was growing tired. If not, she would've ended her there and now.
She got up a threw the sword across the hall. Goldy was still crying. No. Tina will not get to her! She was screwing with her emotions just to put them in the grave like before. She stood still, away from her.
"But then I trusted you with my heirloom. I don't why t-to be honest... but all I did was look in your eyes and I let myself to give you a chance. But it was my fault your like this now! All of it! There's nothing more I would ever want then to turn back time a make things different, but I can't! This is my only chance now. Ryan and I care about you even if you don't realize it."
Tina weakly stood up.
"There's nothing more I would ever want than for you to not exis-"
She was cut off by Tina wrapping her arms around her neck in a tight hug.
Goldy didn't do anything. She was too overwhelmed.
"I love you Goldy. Please come back to me." Tina Burris's her head into the girls shoulder. She whispers loud enough for Goldy to hear. She cries over her shoulder.
Goldy wanted to push her away, wanted to tell her that she's lying, she's too late and now and she should've got her chance earlier. But she didn't.
Goldy slowly hugged her backed and cried. The attention and friendship from Tina is what she secretly craved but never got. But now she couldn't help but believe her. If Tina was willing go through everything that Goldy had done and forgive her for that- then... she believed her.
Goldy opened her eyes and they changed from a red to her golden color and her necklace faded to black and white, losing its colors. Everything that Goldy had summoned disappeared and everything around them became normal again and she lost her abilities.
Tina pulled away with her hands still on her shoulders, smiling.
"Tina! Goldy!" Unicorn and Ryan yelled, noticing the change of Goldys mood.
They all huddled together in a big group hug.
They pulled away and jumped back at Goldys screams. She pushes all of them away, and sits herself in a corner with her hands on her head.
Goldy was most definitely back to normal. But the shocking realization hit her like a truck when she remembers everything she's said and done to her friends.
