Chapter 2
Hello! I'm back! Sorry this took so long, what with school (blegh), my school trip to Japan that went on in the holidays and I'm back at school again (blegh). Anyway, enjoy!

Sunlight was pouring through the window, illuminating the once dark bedroom. The room was pretty empty, with only a bed, dresser, desk and chair, closet and a large suitcase standing at the doorway. There was a moan and the covers on the bed shifted slightly to reveal a girl with mid-length black hair, rolling over to face her back to the window and opened her electric blue eyes.
Summer Walker sat up and got out of bed to open the window. She looked outside on the rush hour in New Ninjago City and smiled. Summer couldn't possibly be any happier today and there was nothing in the world that could ruin the day for her. After ten year, Summer could finally meet her brother, Jay again. She could still remember her childhood with him like it was yesterday, racing each other around the junk yard, climbing the tall towers of junk and inventing new thing with him and their father.
But that all ended when she was seven. Out of the blue, their mother, Edna, had begun to treat her coldly and then two months later, told her to pack her bags and leave the junk yard. Summer could still remember how horrified she was that day. She had nowhere to go, no one who would be willing to take her in, much less the money to survive on her own. She couldn't get a job because she was too young to apply for one and she knew Edna wouldn't give her any, so her only option was to go to an orphanage but Summer had heard the stories at school about the terrors in orphanages and refused to take the chance. But thankfully, her father, Ed, called his wife's sister, Shelley and asked her to raise Summer. And she said yes.
Summer spent the next ten years of her life with her aunt Shelley and finished high school just a couple months ago. She spent those months either working at her aunt's floral shop cutting flowers, playing her bass guitar or inventing, a hobby she kept even after moving. Sometime she went to the local dojo to practise self-defence or archery.
Those ten years also decided Summer's character and personality. She was a quiet girl who kept to herself and preferred to me alone most of the time. The 'popular' kids often picked on her and she found it difficult to make friends. She had a few crushes but none of them seemed to notice her at all. However, in that time, she also discovered a new power she never knew she even had.
She got off the bed and walked over to her now almost empty closet and pulled on the clothes she set aside for the day - a plain light blue shirt, grey jeans and black converse. Her hair was just pulled up in a ponytail.
Summer knew her aunt would come up to call her down for breakfast soon but she sat back down on her bed instead and traces her finger lightly over a roughly carved hear on the wall near her bed. She smiled at it, a little proud of herself. She remembered the first night she moved in very well, she was lying in her new bed and started crying out of nowhere. She got out of bed, went back down stairs quiet as a mouse grabbed the pocket knife she saw sitting on the counter earlier at dinner and carved the heart, tear-stained face and angry, at her mother, her life and more importantly, herself. Summer was sure that Shelley would've noticed the next day she came in to wake her up and tell her off for it but to her surprise, she didn't say anything about it. And she never asked about it in the past ten years, which not only surprised Summer but confused her as well.
"You alright there love?" her aunt called at the bottom of the stairs, bringing Summer back to reality.
"Yeah, coming!" Summer answered back, grabbing the handle of her large suitcase and hauled it down the stairs. She was greeted with the smell of fresh waffles with maple syrup, cream and strawberries, her favourite. The two ate in silence, Summer savouring every bite she took. When all the waffles were eaten and cleaned up, she went back up to her room to get her duffel bag.
"Summer? It's time to go now love," Shelley called again.
"Coming!" Summer took one final glance at her room before turning around and heading back down stairs where her aunt was waiting outside for her at the car.
Shelley, was a medium size woman with dark reddish-brown wavy hair and golden eyes. She looked nothing like her sister, Edna, whose eyes were hazel and had greyed hair. She was a kind woman, who always cared for others, no matter the who they were but stern when necessary. Summer had always felt she was a hindrance in her aunt's life but Shelley had often disagreed with her on several occasions.
"You've got everything?" Shelley asks when Summer comes outside and stand in front her at the car.
"Yep."
There were so many things Summer need to thank her aunt for but she didn't know how to. She took her in with open arms and took care of her for ten years. Summer thought that Shelley would've gotten rid of her after a year but she didn't, Shelley would've never dreamed of it.
"Hey Shelley?"
"Mhmm?"
"Thank you. For everything you've done for me." Summer steps forward and wrap her arms around her aunt in a hug, tears sliding down her cheeks. She feels Shelley stepping forward and returning the hug.
"It's been an absolute pleasure Summer and I've had a lot of fun with you," she sniffles, tightening her grip on Summer, "Thank you."
Outside, nothing had changed. The people went on living their daily lives but for two people, they cherished the time they spent together and loved every minute of it.

For once, the Ninja get to start the day in a good mood, not only because Jay's sister was coming to stay with them but because Sensei Wu cancelled their sunrises exercise and let them sleep in. It left them very relieved because it takes a lot of effort to get up at the crack of dawn and they got the sleep in that only happens once every blue moon.
Kai sits down on the bench, having a quick break from training and watches Jay whack the dummy repeatedly with his numchucks. He noticed that his blue clad friend was in a great mood this morning but that was perfectly understandable because he hasn't seen his sister in ten years. Kai shuddered at the thought of not seeing his own sister, Nya for ten years, she was the only family he has left. Both of his parents have already passed away. A loud ring tone suddenly interrupts the training session and all five ninja turn to the bench where the sound was coming from.
" Whose phone is that?" Cole calls from the weight lifts.
"I think it's mine," Kai answers, holding out his phone. He brings it down to read the caller ID and smiles.
"You guys can go back to training, I've got the answer this." And with that, the answered the call and brought his phone up to his ear and began to leave the room.
"Hey! How've you been?"
****************************************************************************
Jay shakes his head with a small smile on his face as he watches Kai leave the training room. There was only one person that could make his hot-headed friend smile like that and everyone in the room knew that it was Skylor, the Master of Amber. He remember how Kai got really hooked onto her back on Chen's island and was (and still is) amazed at the fact that Kai forgave her for her alliance with her father, Master Chen himself, and also rescued her from him.
"Hey guys," he says to the Cole, Lloyd and Zane, "I've finished training for the day and I'm gonna see how long we've got till we get there." There was a murmur of "OK" and "See ya"s as Jay packed up his gear and headed for the bridge. After Jay gave Summer the confirmation call, they decided on a meeting place to pick her up and the team boarded the Bounty and headed straight there.
Jay walked into the bridge and instantly noticed Nya standing at the steering wheel. He smiled. She's been in the bridge ever since they took off, only leaving for about three hours last night to get some sleep and left Zane to fly. Even after the mental disagreement between her and Jay, she did it for him and that's what made Jay feel incredibly lucky to her as his new girlfriend.
"Hey Nya." Nya turned around to see her new boyfriend walking up to her, a big smile on his face.
"Hey Jay." She smiles back.
"So... umm... how much longer until we get there?" Jay asks nervously.
"About an hour or so," Nya answers with bit more confidence than him, "I can't wait to meet you sister Jay."
"Yeah, me too. Thanks a lot. See ya!" Jay says, leaving a quick kiss on Nya's cheek and leaving the room, red in the face. Nya watched him go, touching her cheek where Jay kissed her with a big smile. Even though they just got back together, that act still left her breathless.
"Wow..."
****************************************************************************
A couple miles from New Ninjago City was a black sedan with a girl in her mid-teenage years sitting on the hood of the car and a woman in her mid-forties leaning against it.
Summer looked out into the horizon away from New Ninjago City, waiting nervously to see any sign off Jay or the flying ship he told her about last night. She turned her phone on and looked at the time. They have been waiting fifteen minutes now and there was still no sign of then. On the outside, Summer look a little anxious, biting her lip slightly and training her gaze on the horizon but internally, she was freaking out.
What if Mum already found out? What will happen to Jay? What about the other Ninja? What is she took away the last chance I had of ever seeing my brother again? I can't deal with that!
"You OK there?" Shelley asked, causing Summer to jump and remember where she is.
"Uh, yeah," she answer quickly, scratching the back of her neck nervously with a sheepish smile.
"You really need to stop spacing out on reality dear. It's no wonder why you struggled on some of your classes, especially history," her aunt chuckled.
"That's because history was an extremely boring subject to begin with," Summer grumbled back, giving Shelley a playful glare. She just patted her niece on the shoulder before looking out onto the horizon.
"You'll be O- What in Ninjago's name is that?!" her aunt suddenly exclaimed, pointing at a small object floating above the horizon. Summer followed her gaze and stared at it for about ten seconds before realizing that-
"Is that the flying ship Jay told us to expect? The Destiny's Bounty?" Summer asks quietly and uncertainly.
"Last time I checked," Shelley muttered under her breath, "ships don't fly!"
Summer ignored her, instead look up at the deck as the ship came closer. She can only make out six people, each wearing a different colour. There was blue, black, read, green and two in while, one with a straw hat and the other with a silver head, Summer wasn't sure. She could also hear voiced distinctly on the ship over the sound of the loud engine but couldn't make out what they were saying.
****************************************************************************
"Dude! What you waiting for? Do it!"
"No! Why?"
"Uh, because."
"'Because' what?"
"Because we said, that's why!"
Jay groaned at his current predicament, now fully regretting what he agreed to less than an hour ago.
"I can't do this because Summer and my aunt would thing I'm a complete idiot after not seeing each other for ten years!" Jay hissed, looking uncomfortable over the deck where his sister and aunt was standing.
"Well, why not?" Cole asked, an evil grin on his face. "Why not show then what you've been doing the last couple years by landing safely when you jump of the Bounty!"
"Jay glared at Cole, then at Lloyd at Kai, who were grinning nervously at him.
"Zane?" he said turning to his nindroid friend, who was standing next to their sensei off to the side.
Zane waved his hands. "Sorry, but I'd like to stay out of this." He gave his friend an apologetic smile.
"Leave me out of this too," Sensei Wu huffed, pouring himself a cup of tea.
Jay groaned again and let out a loud huff, having made up his mind just then and definitely not liking his decision.
"Oh fudge it," he muttered under his breath, whipping his hood on.
And with that, he ran for the edge, leapt off the railing and began free falling from the Bounty.
****************************************************************************
Summer gasped as the person in blue jumped off the flying ship and began free falling, letting out loud whoops, along with a "I'm gonna kill you Cole!".
"Oh my god, Is his crazy?" Shelley mutters, staring up at the boy in disbelief.
The two watched at the boy brought his hands together and what looks like blue electricity cackling around his fingers. To their surprise, a blue dragon, cackling with the same blue electricity, appeared out of thin air with the boy sitting safely on it and riding it down to the ground.
"Oh my god," Summer whispered under her breath.
The dragon landed near the car and disappeared in a puff of blue smoke and the boy turned around to face Summer and Shelley. His eyes widened as he removed his hood. Summer gasped, her eyes immediately filling with tears.
No, is it really, him?"
"Summer? Is that you?"
Summer gasped at the boys voice, tears now falling down her cheeks.
"J-jay?"

So anyway, that was just about 2300 words there, hope it's alright. And sorry that Chapter 11 isn't out yet, got writer's block on that one. I've got four fanfiction project happening at once; the 'Shocked' rewrites, Chapter 11 for the same story, my Code Lyoko fanfiction on Fanfiction.net and a Miraculous Ladybug facfiction that I'm still deciding where to post. I'll try to finish 'Shocked' as soon as possible because I plan on writing a trilogy for Ninjago and I'm still on the first book! OK, I'm done now. See ya!
