Life and Death

Lucy's P.O.V

"This is our alliance." Sierra says, pointing to the people in front of her. We'd decided to make an alliance with a newer guild, which was relatively small. Sierra set it all up, telling us not to worry about a thing.

With the people in front of us though, I don't really know what to think.

First up, is Liam, a black haired, pale skinned, blue eyed Metal Manipulation Mage.

Second, we have Lenora, a girl with long silver hair and bright gold eyes, who was a Music Amplifier Mage who apparently Cassandra and Jack know from their childhood. Those three immediately walked away to catch up on old times.

Third, we have Alexander. A Requip Mage with blonde hair, green eyes and tanned skin. He hasn't really spoken much, just sat in the corner.

The last two on this guilds team, were who I was unsure about. They were what this guild calls the 'Balance Twins'. They were this guild's version of Sabertooth's twin dragons.

Lily, an extremely small and fragile looking girl with frizzy black hair, tired-looking dark eyes and vampire pale skin sat in the corner. She was quiet, nervous, and kept fiddling with her fingers. She never glanced up, and when someone tried to speak to her she couldn't even stutter out a full sentence.

Then there is Vivian, a completely childish, dense and enthusiastic girl who didn't know what she was doing to the boys in the room. She had long, golden blond hair, bright, emerald green eyes and creamy pale skin. She had been jumping around the room the whole time she had been at Shock Wave's guild hall. She kept trying to make Lily socialize, and kept completely failing.

These two, were Infinity Soul's strongest members. The Death Demon Slayer and the Life Angel Slayer.

.......we're goners.

Rin finally arrived, late once again (he's always late...) only to stop short and stare at the two slayers in front of him. He blinks a few times, before turning and running out of the room, as if running for his life.

The girl, Lily, narrows her eyes at him, before beginning to cry. "Why do they always run away?! Am I that ugly?!"

"No Lil! Never! He's just jealous that he's not as fabulous as you!" Vivian hugs Lily.

"B-But..." Lily sniffs.

"It's just because you kicked his butt last time! That's it!"

"Wasn't that you...?"

"Hmm? Oh, yeah, maybe. RIIIIINNNN!" She runs after him, leaving no one to comfort Lily, who then bursts into tears....again.

Sierra sighs, "I thought you guys would've calmed down by now, but..." She turns to see the worried looks of her own guild mates.

"Don't worry, those 'Balance Twins' leveled a whole mountain, accidentally. This guild is rather strong, but they're an independent guild so they're not on the councils radar."

"It wasn't my fault that snake scared me." Lily cries.

The master of Infinity Soul was a twenty one year old girl with long red hair, green eyes and Barrow Magic, a lost magic enabling one to barrow up to three types of magic from allies for a battle. Her name was Kaida, I had learned when she arrived. She walked over. "Lily Summers is an easily frightened girl, due to her past. She's rather strong though, and has gained the nickname 'Grim Reaper' from many famous wizards."

"Speaking of that, what's up with the Balance Twin's magic? I've never heard of Angel Slaying, and Demon Slaying is rare." I ask, extremely curious about these two mages.

Kaida blinks, "Oh, they are slightly the same thing. Demon's are just fallen angels, according to legend, Lily's magic works strangely, it's hard to explain without a demonstration. We'd rather not level your guild though. Vivian Dracon's magic takes energy from the life around her. The more positive energy in the room, the more powerful she becomes. Lily is the opposite, instead taking and gaining power from negative energy. That's why they compliment each other so well. Vivian sucks up the positive energy, leaving only negativity, which Lily takes. This ends with the energy staying the same in the room, while the two grow double in strength."

All eyes in the room widen (minus Infinity Soul's members and Sierra) and all gazes land on Lily.

"Why are you all staring at me?!" She wails, "Leave...!"

"However, they're personalities are less....intimidating. Now, we have a meeting to get to! You!" Kaida points to me, "Try and calm down Lily." Everyone leaves the room, and I walk to Lily.

"If you're scared to fight, why are you in this competition?" I ask.

Lily looks up, her eyes shining with sadness. "To prove I'm not as weak as the world thinks I am, and for Vivian."

"For Vivian?"

"She's on my side, she's there for me. Without her giving me strength, without a friend, why try to prove anything? That would just be revenge. I don't want revenge, I just have something to prove."

I blink, these words of this random girl have reached me. Why? I don't know, but they have. She's a stranger, an odd, emotional stranger, so why should her words matter? Because the words of strangers are wise indeed. This girl, the one sitting before me, her eyes tell a story.

Her eyes are filled with sadness, and with a ray of hope. A ray of hope, which I believe is because of her friend. All you need is one friend in your life, that's all you have to find. A friend that will support you, be there for you, love you like family. Someone who means so much to you that they give you hope.

As Vivian rushed back into the room, I see Lily's eyes shine with as much happiness as the sadness before. She found her life long friend, the one who she can't live without. She's got something to fight for.

All you need is one friend, that's it. You need to find one friend who will stick to your side no matter who you are, and will protect and support who you become. Just one friend who loves you for who and what you are. Just one.

But I've got an ocean of them.

{1051 words! But totally not edited.... Whoohoo! If any of you read my fanfic 'With Time' you should know by now that all my fanfics have to be dramatic and have multiple complicated hidden meanings, feelings and messages...

So, I was thinking about starting another fanfic! It would be about the history of Lily Summers and Vivian Dracon! What do ya' think?}
