The next exercise would start after the agreed upon break. Keith left to talk with Shiro in the hallway, leaving Lance alone.
Keith and Shiro's Conversation
Keith pulled Shiro into the hallway, "I need to talk to you."
Shiro leaned against the Castle of Lion's wall, arms folded and eyes slightly concerened.
Keith took a deep breath for what he was about to say, "That exercise got me thinking. It got me thinking about how now-or-never this job is, and it got me thinking about... how I feel."
He paused for Shiro's reaction, which was just waiting for Keith to finish. Keith continued, "I'm going to ask you something, but first I need to be very, very clear. I treasure our friendship and I don't want to lose you. And I don't want to make things weird, so things can go back to normal if... if you want. But I have to tell you this, now or never."
Keith took a deep breath. He hadn't really prepared for this but it has to happen. "Sh-Shiro, I..." Why am I stuttering? "I have... feelings for you..."
Keith noticed Shiro tensed, and bit his tongue. This was a mistake. But Keith relaxed when Shiro's eyes softened, even though it wasn't intentional. There was a long moment of silence between the two of them. It dug through Keith, and he started to shake.
A look of worry and realization washed over Shiro, "Keith, I-"
"I'm just gonna... go," Keith turned to walk back to Shiro's bedroom but Shiro put his metal arm and Keith's shoulder, making him flinch slightly.
"Keith... I feel the same."
Lance's Time
Lance pouted. He wishes he was in that conversation with them, but no. Nice team bonding. Once the games are over, they're all just gonna fall back into their usual routines.
Which... kind of made Lance a little sad.
So, while Keith and Shiro talked outside, Lance was left to thinking about what had happened. What was said. This "polyamorous" thing. Lance always knew he wasn't straight... in all honesty, he didn't even like girls! But he tried so hard to be the flirty guy, like his father, so he wouldn't ever have to worry about someone questioning his facade. And now here he sits, questioning if it's not just one guy he likes, but two...
He always had strong feelings towards Keith. At first he just assumed he didn't like him. Then he just thought they were a weird type of friends. But now... he might like Keith...
Before, Lance thought he liked Shiro. The guy who got along with everyone, and looked handsome as hell doing it.
Could Lance... really like them both? He didn't want to have to deal with that on top of being gay, but it's never a choice. Love is never a choice. . .
