TWENTY KIDS. YOU'RE LEAVING ME WITH TWENTY KIDS. Fine, go to sleep. I'll.... I'll just tell myself jokes. :P I don't like you anyways. The kids and I don't need you.

"So." Luke had started the next day, already sitting on my kitchen counter like it was meant just for his ass. 

"So..?" I looked at him with raised eyebrows. 

"You and Zayn then?" 

"We're just friends." I said without hesitation, shrugging as if it was no big deal.

It really wasn't.

We were just friends. 

"Just friends?"

"Yes, just friends. He just got out of a bad relationship and I'm in no hurry to jump into anything... I still like Niall." 

"Have you even talked to him since the bar?" 

"No." 

"Have you tried to?" 

"No." 

"Then how can you still like him?" 

"I don't know Luke... I just do okay?" 

"You do realize that he's been seen around town with Alex?" 

"I do." 

"And you're still hopelessly in love with him?" 

"Yeah." 

"I don't get you." 

"You're not supposed to." I said shrugging with a soft smile on my face.

"Are you at least going to talk to him again? Try to be friends?" 

"I dunno Luke, I'm... I'm just gonna do whatever it is that I'm supposed to do. If he wants to be friends, then he can come talk to me about it. Now get your ass off my counter, I eat off of that." 

"You eat off my ass?" 

"So not the time for that." 

"Every time is the time." 

"You make little sense."

"Welcome to the world of Harry Styles!" To which I smacked him upside the head. This earned me the satisfaction of listening to Luke's giggles... He was cute when he giggled.

I wanted to just pinch his cheeks.

His face cheeks,not his ass cheeks.  We went into the living room, popping in a random video game to play for the day. Luke had his feet on my lap and I rested my arms on top of them. As we waited for the screen to load I thought about the last time I played video games 

"Do you like Luke?" 

"Yeah." 

"Can I ask you something?" 

"Sure." 

"Do you like Liam?" Luke's eyebrows scrunched together, a confused look on his face as I waited for his answer. 

"That's a weird question." 

"Just answer it." 

"I don't know? I guess he's a cool guy and everything but I also like Michael... Mikey and I have something good going on ya know? I don't want to mess that up cause I have a little crush on a guy I didn't even mean to sleep with. Besides... Liam doesn't want to be with me. I'm just some screwed up kid who doesn't really look for commitment."

"Then what the fuck is going on between you and Mikey? Are you leading him around? Or do you actually want to be with him?" 

"I don't know. I really don't and I hate it but right now I'm just trying to get to the next step of my life. I like Michael. I like Liam. Michael is the safer option, so I'm sticking with him." Luke shrugged like it was no big deal, and really it shouldn't have been.

But it was bugging me.

It really shouldn't be.

"So you're not even going to give Liam a chance?" 

"No... I don't see why I should. We fucked, big deal." 

"Stop. Don't... Don't be like me Luke." 

"Why? It's the best way to live, you don't have to be committed."

"It's not... It really isn't. If you're not going to be with Liam, at least be with Michael. Don't... Don't just sleep with him and leave. Being like me... It's not fun. It fucking sucks. You gain more enemies than you do friends... you hurt people, and you lose those who care the most. You end up alone, and I don't want that for you.... I don't want you to be like me."
