Chapter Forty-Two

Good morning Sunshine, I was just texting to let you know that I love you and that I'll be stopping by your house around noon to pick you up for lunch. :) xx 

To: Alex :* Sent: 10:58 AM 

Alright :) I'll see you then xx

I know you do, now leave me in peace so I can get ready

Just go in your pajamas, you'll look flawless either way

I sleep naked.

You annoy me. I'm not replying anymore.

No, baby come back! You can blame it all on me!

I rolled my eyes before placing my phone down on the table. I had already gotten dressed, knowing Alex he was probably going to show up early. 

He didn't like to be late.

Not that that was a big deal or anything. 

My phone vibrated two times in a row, signalling that someone was calling me instead of texting me. I didn't even bother to look at the caller ID, figuring that it was Alex telling me he was on his way. 

"Hello?" 

"Hey Niall." The guy on the other end was most certainly not Alex, and it took me a moment to realize who it was. My hands started to sweat, my brain trying to find the words to say. 

"Ha-Harry?" And it was almost like someone flipped a switch, releasing all the anger and resentment I had against him.

But it also released the feelings... 

"That's my name, don't wear it out." I could already imagine the smirk on his face. I could see the way his eyes would be twinkling just a little as he adjusted the phone on his ear. 

"Why...Why are you calling?" 

"Wow, I'm quite offended that you would even ask that. It's not like I told you I was in love with you or anything a month ago." 

"It's been two months... And you fucking left. So don't pull that shit on me.... Why are you calling now?" 

"Figured it was about time I did. I mean... yeah... I guess it's about time I apologized for what I did." He paused for a moment, leaving us both in a bit of silence. 

"I'm sorry, for everything. From the stupid Slut Dresser comments all the way to what... to what I did to you the last time we talked. I've done a lot wrong where you're concerned, and god I keep trying to tell myself that... that I need to stay away from you. I keep telling myself that I don't deserve you, that you deserve so much better than what I can give you. But yet here I find myself calling you because I just missed your voice so goddamn much. I miss everything about you Niall, and it's killing me inside cause... cause I have to break my own heart again when I tell you that... " 

"Tell me what?" He didn't respond, causing fear to explode throughout my body. 

"Harry? Harry are you still there?"

"Yeah... Look, this was... I shouldn't have called you. I'm sorry Niall, I won't be bothering you again." And before I even got the chance to protest, he'd hung up. I took a deep breath as I tried to calm down. I wasn't doing a very good job, so when there was a knock at the door I nearly shit my pants. I opened it a few seconds later to reveal Alex. 

"Hey!" He smiled at me, handing me a rose. 

"Hi..." I whispered, still trying to calm down a little.

"You okay?" 

"Yeah... Yeah I'm fine. Lets... lets get going yeah?" Alex didn't look very convinced, but nodded anyways as he handed me the rose. 

"Okay... You sure?" 

"I'm positive, if we don't leave now we'll miss our reservation." I placed the rose on my coffee table, before grabbing Alex's hand and dragging him out the door and to his car. 

"What's the rush?" 

"Rush? There's no rush!"

"You just dragged me out of the house like a madman was chasing you..." 

"No I didn't." 

"Yes you did, now tell me what the fuck is going on!" Alex stood by his car, his arms crossed over his chair as he waited for my answer. 

"Can it wait? I mean... Lets just go get something to eat, and I'll explain everything then! Please Alex?" I gave him slight puppy eyes, to which he just rolled his eyes to. He complied anyways, unlocking his car so we could both climb in. 

"The second we're done eating, you're explaining yourself. Understood?" 

"Understood... Thanks for like not... pressuring me into giving you an answer." I kinda felt bad all the sudden, I didn't like keeping things from Alex. 

"You know I'm willing to do anything for you... Even if I don't like it at the time. So food then?" 

"Food." Alex chuckled a little at me, before pulling out of my driveway. As if almost out of habit, I looked at Harry's house. 

My heart stopping when I saw the big "For Sale" sign in front of it.

And to be honest... My heart broke a little.

3: -NarryStoran- still needs to find Jesus. If not Jesus, then go see Oprah or Doctor Phil for godsake woman.

4: Lilex is now a thing, even though.... It hasn't happened yet. 

5: Some of you were going to buy me peanut butter oreos, please do cause like... I want more. 

Five is a good number, so I'll stop there. 

I'm so excited for Burning Up  though, like you guys have no idea. 

I love you all so much for how far you've already gotten Shiver, and I really hope I see you guys again.
