Chapter Forty-Five
Chapter Forty-Five
The church on the corner
Torn down in December
That kiss in the doorway
I still won't surrender
I stood at the end of the alter as I heard the wedding march begin to play. My palms were sweaty, the nerves starting to get to me. I had been waiting for the moment ever since he asked me...
"Harry, stop fidgeting. God you act like it's your own goddamn wedding." Luke hissed from my side, elbowing me a little.
"Well it's not every day you're the best man. I mean god, it's hard work. You have to be so flawless." To prove my point I flicked the hair out of my face, grinning as Luke rolled his eyes at me.
"You're impossible."
"Tell me something I don't know." Calum was walking down the aisle now, his arm hooked with both of his parents. Louis stood on the other side of me, his grin one you couldn't hide. It was almost like he wasn't even nervous...
That's stupid though...
How can you not be nervous?
"Louis, your smile is worse than the Jokers off Batman... Calm it a little?"
"Fuck off Harry."
"Hey, that's no way to treat your best man."
"I should've picked Luke."
"Nah, Luke wouldn't have given you a bachelor party like I did."
"You hired female strippers."
"Well not all of us are full blown gay."
"Yet you're dating a guy."
"Your point?"
"You're gay."
"Bi. Bisexual."
"Will you shut up now? I'm about to get married." I shut up after that, Calum finally reaching the alter where the rest of us were. I tuned out most of the ceremony, looking into the stands every once in a while to catch eyes with a certain blonde, blue eyed boy. I tuned back in though after the I Do's.
The way Louis looked at Calum just made me want to do this...
I was going to marry Niall someday.
After they were pronounced married, I walked off the stage and over to Niall. I picked him up in my arms, twirling him around in a circle.
"I love you." I whispered, looking at him with a smile.
"I know, you remind me everyday."
"Good, you need to know."
"And I do." He kissed me on the cheek before I put him down. I linked our hands together as we followed Louis and Calum out of the church, only to be assaulted by rice as the couple were as well.
"Jesus, you'd think we were the ones who got married." I chuckled, shaking my head in hopes of getting some of the rice out. Niall just laughed, helping me a little as he picked the rice out.
"I think you're good now." I looked up at Niall, his smile making me smile.
"I'm gonna marry you someday, I hope you realize that." I whispered, looking him straight in the eyes.
"Not yet you aren't. We haven't even been officially together for a month Harry."
"So?"
"You hardly know me really if you think about it." Niall shrugged, looking away from me and down at the ground.
"I know enough..." He shook his head at me.
"No... You really don't. But... Lets not worry about that today, okay? It's Louis and Calum's day, I don't want to ruin it for them." He gave my hand a slight squeeze before kissing my cheek.
"Yeah... Lets go to that reception." I gave him a tight smile, his words swimming in my head almost like an ocean.
You hardly know me

"I have to admit, I never thought Louis would get married. He just never was the settle down kind of guy, I mean I swear to god he always had a new girl or boy on his arm during high school. I guess that was just high school though. Lou and Cal are more than perfect for each other, you can see that they love each other even with just a simple look. I'm glad that they found each other... and I'm glad that I'm standing here before you all today. When Louis asked me to be his best man, I was shocked to say the least. I mean... I wasn't exactly his best friend, that was always Luke. I really shouldn't be talking about myself though, this night is about Lou and Cal.... Louis, you picked yourself a great person and I wish you both the best of luck with this whole marriage. Cal... You better make sure he doesn't end up in prison." The crowed erupted in laughter as I sat down, Louis clapping a little as he kissed Calum's cheek.
"You're a dick, but I love you anyways." Louis whispered to me, punching my arm slightly.
"Ow, what did I do to deserve that?"
"You brought up high school, you remember why we don't bring up high school."
"Remember when you got caught in the janitors closet with Issac?"
"Yes. I was there."
"Harry..." Niall warned, patting my arm a little.
"And remember when you got caught with George underneath the bleachers, that one was my personal favorite. Liam was the one to find you... Bless his soul. He had to see your di-"
"Harry! The mike is still on." Niall hissed, grabbing the microphone out of my hand. I gulped a little, looking out at the horrified crowd.
"Oops?"

We walked out of the reception hall well after midnight, the December snow finally sticking to the ground. Niall's hand was wrapped in mine, his shoulders shaking slightly as we walked back to my place. I had already placed my suit jacket on him, so I was slightly confused as to why he was so cold.
"Are you still cold?"
"Nope."
"Then why are you shaking?" He turned to me with a smile, shrugging his shoulder as if it was nothing.
"It's just... Whenever you're close to me, I shiver."

You all need Jesus.
Well this was the end of Shiver. It's kind of... bittersweet.
I only say that cause I have the sequel. I'm so excited for it.
I'll post a little part with the sequel info when it's posted :)
