Chapter Fifteen: A Little Better

"Okay! Front hall!" I announce as we step inside my house and I kick off my shoes. "Living room and bathroom that side kitchen that side, a aaand upstairs is guest room on the left side, the master bedroom is on the right, and the bathroom is on the end of the hall" I say quickly, pointing wildly.
Evan blinks slowly and Tyler snorts as Craig facepalms. "If y'all need recaps I'll give ya some. Everyone okay with pasta for dinner?" I shrug, and everyone mumbles their agreements. "Okay, you guys situate yourselves and watch some TV, I'll make dinner" I smile before walking into the kitchen.
Tyler and Craig go to the living room but Evan follows me. "C-Could I yelp you cook?" He asks quietly, rubbing his hands together. "I like cooking" He says shyly, making me smile. "I know, you made me a pie once" I chuckle, crouching down and grabbing a pot. Evan opens the soup cupboard and pulls out the big jar of sauce, the one that's his favourite, that I introduced to him.
"Ev? How'd you remember that's where that is?" I ask, slowly putting the pot onto the stove. Evan's eyebrows furrow and he looks at the jar of sauce in his hand before looking back at me. "I..I don't know" He mumbles before putting the jar on the counter. "Do you remember where the spaghetti is?" I ask hopefully.
Evan looks at the cupboards and frowns. "No" He sighs before looking down. "I-I'm sorry, I-I really want to remember but-" I inturrpt him for what feels like the millionth time today. "Evan, it's okay. I don't care, I'm just glad you still have your subconscious memory. You know how to boil water, no?" I smirk, trying to lighten the mood.
Evan giggles and from there on we get back to cooking. I know it's only been half a day, but it's great to see Evan in my kitchen again. We work around each other pretty well, preparing vegetables and sauce and the pasta. We get it done faster then I usually would have and serve dinner, eating in the living room as we watch TV.
It gets late fast and Evan falls asleep on my shoulder, which makes me smile more then it should have. "You guys sleep in the guest room, yeah?" I nod to Tyler and Craig. "Yeah, thanks again Jon" Craig smiles and stands up before heading upstairs. "No hard feelings?" Tyler asks with a sympathetic smile, looking past me for a moment to look at Evan.
"No hard feelings" I smile, shaking Tyler's hand. "Alright, night man" Tyler smiles back, getting up and following after Craig. "Tyler?" I call out, and he stops. "Yeah?" He responds. "Don't fuck in my guest room" I scowl before smirking as Tyler blushes and leaves. I snicker and tap Evan's shoulder to wake him up.
"Ev, you gotta get up and get in bed" I chuckle as he sits up and looks around. "Ew" He snorts, collapsing backwards with a whine. "Alright" I shrug, standing up and lifting Evan up. He yelps and throws his arms around my neck, scowling at me as I carry his fimillar weight upstairs. I lay Evan in our bed and walk over to the closet. I grab one of my big shirts and throw it over to him with a chuckle as he sits up and complains.
I strip down without a second thought and grab some pajama pants, sliding into them. I turn around to see Evan's eyes glued to my chest and his cheeks turned bright red. I chuckle and walk up to the bed, stretching. "Gonna change? This jeans are tight as hell and haven't been washed in three days" I laugh, but Evan just turns redder.
"U-Uh, could you step out?" He squeaks, looking down. "I-I know w-we-" I chuckle and Evan shut shis mouth. "Of course I'll step out" I smile, leaving the room until Evan opens it in my shirt as always, bright, bright red. "D-don't I h-have any of my o-own pajamas?" He squeaks, pulling the shirt further down his thighs.
