Childhood Love [Romance] Kyth
A BIT OF A DISCLAIMER! THIS IS A SHIP THAT I HAVE HAD FOR A LONG ASS TIME! Be prepared bitches!!
Little, 5 year old Kylie was lying on her bed. She was sick and coughing like crazy, and she just felt like she was under some sort of rock. It was on her chest and not letting air in.
"Kylie!" Her mom said. "Someone's here to see you! Get out of bed!"
"Ami..." she hoarsely shouted. "I don't feel great right now!"
She sat up and coughed as she heard footsteps coming to her room. Her mom came in and gasped by Kylie's condition. She ran to her and put her hand over her forehead. It was burning.
"Kylie," she said. "You're beating warm."
"Yeah," she said sarcastically. "It's like I didn't notice."
She then coughed some more as the door opened to reveal three people: Keith, her male childhood friend, Hannah, her female childhood friend, and Freya, their little sister.
"Guys," Kylie's mom said. "Its best you don't come in here. Kylie's got a high fever."
"Awww," Freya said. "I was hoping we could play with ponies together."
"Sorry," Kylie said while coughing more. "Not with this cough."
Her friends looked upset, but Keith sighed and cam into the room. He actually had something for her. Curiosity getting to her, Kylie held out her hands to receive the gift. Keith gently place the small box in them, and smiled at her. She smiled back and said a hoarse "thank you." Just then, the siblings' mother came in and saw Kylie's condition.
"You three better not get sick around her," she said. "I don't want three sick children to take care of. Especially you, Keith."
Keith slightly blushed and went back over to his family. Kylie and her mom laughed as they left her room. It was a good thing the siblings were staying over, so they wouldn't have to go drive 30 minutes to get back home.
Kylie then looked at the little box and slowly pulled at the pink bow made on top of the glittery, white box. She opened the lid and gasped at what was inside. It was a diamond necklace with the word MashAllah written on it.
She smiled at the gift and asked her mom to put it on for her. Her mother smiled at her and tied the necklace around her daughter's neck. The necklace dangled from her neck and shined in the sunlight that was coming through the window.
"That's so sweet of him," Kylie's mom said. "You two are such good friends."

Kylie was now at a wedding. But not just any wedding; her oldest sister's wedding. Sara, her sister, was really nervous, but Kylie knew just how to make her feel better. They use to sing Desi songs together, and she knew just the song to sing.
"Teri baarishein bhigaaye mujhe
Teri hawaaein bahaaye mujhe
Paaon tale mere zameene chal padi
Aisa to kabhi hua hi nahi
Ae mere dil mubarak ho
Yahi toh pyar hai..."
Sara smiled at Kylie and sang with her.
"Ishq mubarak
Dard mubarak
Ishq mubarak
Dard mubarak (x2)
Aisa lagta hai kyun
Teri aankhen jaise
Aankhon mein meri reh gayi
Kabhi pehle maine na suni jo
Aisi baatein keh gayi
Tu hi tu hai jo har taraf mere
Toh tujhse pare main jaaun kahan..."
The two laughed as Kylie's phone rang. When she answered, her mom was calling her to the ballroom.
"Where are you?" She asked. "Everyone's been looking for you!"
"I'm helping Sara, remember?" She said. "She needs this."
"Oh... well, you still need to get your ass back here before your lover boy goes crazy about your location."
Lover boy? Kylie wondered. Who was this dude? Whoever it was, she wasn't interested in falling in love. She told her mom she'll be there and offed the call.
Kylie then came into the ballroom, and her mother sighed with frustration. She led Kylie to the table and set her down next to Hannah, Freya, and a couple other girls she knew since she was a baby. She talked and laughed with them for a bit before the Desi music came on.
The groom was the first to come. There was some Bangra music that sounded as the groom and his friends came dancing down the hall and into the ballroom. Everyone laughed and clapped along to the beat of the music as the groom sat in his chair (this is actually what happens when the groom comes in Desi weddings).
After a couple of minutes, some serene and peaceful music came on. Everyone knew what that meant. The bride was coming.
Kylie stood up, grabbed her golden plate of flower petals, and ran to the sides of the aisle. She leaned forward a bit to try to get a glimpse of her sister, and she smiled as she came into the room. The looked prettier than a diamond flower.
Sara looked to Kylie as her sister threw petals over her head and tears filled her eyes. She smiled as Kylie watched her sister sit next to the groom.
The entire wedding was so much fun. There was dancing, spicy and sweet foods, and even some pictures with the bride and groom. Everyone was enjoying the day. However, someone kept on thinking about something else that wasn't the wedding.
Keith was talking with his friends as he suddenly noticed Kylie in her pink shaalwar kameez. He just kept on staring at her, only seeing her and nothing else. He snapped out of it when his friends noticed his odd behavior.
"Yo, Keith!" His friend, Greg said. "Stop staring at poor Kylie. I get you think she's attractive, but when is she never?"
"W-what!?" Keith said while blushing. "Who said I was staring at her?"
"You always stare at her," his other friend, Zack replied. "Dude, why don't you just tell her how you feel? Is it really that difficult?"
"I never said I liked her," Keith denied. "Stop thinking that I love her. We're just friends."
"Sure," Greg said. "Keep saying that and you'll miss your chance to give her a kiss."
Keith just blushed as his friends continued to tease him through the night.

Another wedding. This time, it was Kylie's other sister's wedding: Brook.
The bride and groom were already seated (cuz I'm a lazy bitch) and everyone was just chatting away. Kylie was on the outdoor porch, drinking from the wine glass in her hand. She was just enjoying the nice weather since she's been so busy recently. With everything that's been going on at her University, she's so glad to finally have some time to just sit back and relax.
Just then, a little girl came and tugged at her blue sari.
"Khala Kylie!" She said. "Why are you out here by yourself. Why aren't you talking with the others inside or on the porch?"
"Because, Lola," Kylie said to her three year old niece. "Your aunt just needed some time to cool down."
"Oh yeah! You hate the heat!"
Kylie laughed at her cuteness as someone was walking out on the porch. He was just getting some fresh air when he heard Kylie's laughter. Keith looked over and smiled at her with her niece. He walked over, and Lola instantly ran to hug him.
"KEITH!" She cheered. "Yay!"
"Hey!" He said while picking up the three year old. "What's going on ladies?"
"It's been busy," Kylie admitted as she leaned against the elegant bars of the porch. "This little devil decided to say hi."
Lola laughed while digging her face into Keith's chest. Keith just laughed while looking at Kylie with his brown eyes.
"She sure does like me," he said.
"Because you are Khala's friend!" She replied in her little voice. "If you love her, then I love you."
Keith and Kylie both blushed and laughed at Lola's remark. It was true. Kylie had gained feelings for her childhood friend. She never told anyone though. She was afraid of Hannah and Freya no longer being friends with her if she told them she liked him. Why would she think that?
Kylie's friend, Laila (MWAH) had shipped then since they were teens. Kylie had told Hannah about this, and Hannah kept pleading Kylie to tell her to stop. Kylie knew that Hannah hated the fact her friend was being shipped with her brother, and she kept tell Laila to stop. However, did Laila listen? HELL TO THE NO!
It was basically like this: if she told them, then she would lose her best friend. It sucks, I know. But what the hell can the poor woman do?
Keith then set Lola down. He actually wanted to tell Kylie something. He had recently met this girl (OH HELL NAW BOY!), and he was really happy with her. She was pretty, smart, and came from a nice and rich family.
"Uh, Kylie?" He said. "I wanted to tell you something."
"Yeah?" She said, noticing the nervousness on his face. "What's gotten you so shaken up?"
"I... met this really nice girl last year."
Kylie's heart shattered into a million pieces. Her love of her life, her first and only crush, was in a relationship with someone else (Keith, you dubbed goofed bro).
Kylie was happy for him though. He hadn't been able to get a girlfriend for most of his life. She smiled at him and laughed because of the fact she knew he wasn't going to be forever alone (THIS IS SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL! She really is like this irl). She hugged him and teased him about just getting a girlfriend now, and he just rolled his eyes and chuckled.
Lola in the other hand knew something was wrong. She felt it. It was like a trapped feeling inside her. She knew something was happening between the two, and she knew it wasn't gonna be good in the end.
~Le time skip to when the lovebirds are 23~
Kylie was in her office, coding away some leftover work she had from work today. She was so busy that she did it even have time to text her mom or her sisters for a few minutes. And the work wasn't getting much easier.
At this point, you'd think she'd have someone to calm her down of all the work, but she didn't. She was so busy over the years that she didn't have time to be in a relationship. She didn't even make many friends in college. It was just go to class, study, take the exams, and study some more.
Kylie then remembered Keith's wedding. It was so elegant and beautiful. The bride, Denice, was so pretty. When Kylie saw her, her eyes widened as she smiled for her childhood friend. He not only got the love of his life, but she was hot AF (I had no other words to describe her).
She instantly shook the melancholy memory out of her head as she continued to work. Just then, her phone rang. She looked at it and thought if she should answer or not. She still had a bit of work, and she wondered if she could spare a couple of minutes to answer. She took her chances; she answered the phone and spoke.
"Hello?" She said, trying to hide her weariness.
"Hey Kylie," Keith's voice came from the device. He sounded a bit upset.
"Keith?" She said, shocked that he of all people called her. "Hey! What's up?"
"Just a bit of stress here and there," he replied. "You?"
"Ugh, workloads are the worst, but I'm getting through."
"Have you spoken to anyone recently?" He then asked. "Don't tell me that you've just been a workaholic these days."
"Uhhh..." she then sighed. "What can I do? My work doesn't exactly give many days off, and my boss is just a... something along the lines of a curse word."
Keith just snorted and laughed in the phone.
"You still don't swear?" He said while still laughing his ass off. "Jesus, you are such a child."
Kylie laughed along. She really hasn't changed out of her child-like self. It was probably because of the fact that she wasn't much of an adult.
"Nothing has changed, has it?" She then said.
"Well... some things have," Keith then said, sounding depressed.
"Why? What happened?" She asked.
"Ummm... do you think that you could come to the park tomorrow?"
Tomorrow? Tomorrow was a Saturday. The only day she took to do nothing but just relax. She thought for a bit and sighed.
"Sure..." she spoke. "What time?"
"Think that... I don't know, 5pm work for you?"
"Sure. Is everything okay?"
"I'll... tell you tomorrow. Okay?"
"O...okay. It was that you called today, Keith. I... actually needed that break."
"Anytime," he said. "Bye."
"Bye."
Kylie put her phone down and sighed. Keith was usually really happy and chill about everything. Knowing that he was worrying him made Kylie worry. She then shook her head when she saw her leftover work on the computer.
~Second to last time skip~
Kylie was sitting on the bench near the little pond filled with ducks and a couple swans. She was looking at the sunset while the autumn wind blew past her face. She wore some boots that reached her ankles with a gray sweater and some jeans. She also put her brown hair into a ponytail, and while she was fixing it, she felt the latch of her necklace.
Kylie looked at the necklace. She still had it after 18 years. It still looked brand new, too. She took it in her hand and smiled. She still remembered that day like it was yesterday. She remembered everyone asking who to gave her the necklace, and how many teases she got from her friends.
Tears came to her eyes as she thought of everyone. She hasn't seen anyone in person for two years. And that was on Keith's wedding day. Everything else was just texts and calls that lasted, at most, 10 minutes. Kylie wiped away her tears as she remembered that crying didn't fix anything.
"Chanda tere har to mere jaan," she then sang. "Chanda tere har to mere jaan. Chanda tere har to mere jaan she dua..."
"Kylie?" A low voice then came. "Wow, you changed a bit."
Kylie looked behind her and stood up and smiled at Keith. She hugged him warmly and let him sit next to her. There was a moment of silence before Keith spoke.
"I still can't believe that I haven't seen you for two years," he said while looking at her. "Work has taken a toll on you."
"Ehh..." Kylie said. "You get use to it. Besides, it's not like I had anything better to do."
Keith looked to Kylie, worried. The Kylie he knew would never say something like that. To him, she sounded tired and done with everything. It made him really sad to think about what she's been going through. He then sighed and spoke.
"You haven't seen you sisters or mom either, have you?" He said, knowing he knew the answer.
"... No. I've been way too busy to see them in person."
"Not even to see Lola?"
Kylie started to tear up at her name. She closed her eyes and tried not to sob. She hasn't heard from the seven year old in a long time, and she just wished that she could just hold her and tell her she's sorry for not being able to see her for so long. She wanted to see her niece grow up into a beautiful young girl, but she couldn't because of her work.
Kylie then felt a hand go on her cheek and wipe the lower part of her eye to rid of the tears that were streaming down her face. She opened her eyes to see Keith with solemnness in his eyes.
"Hey..." he said. "I didn't want you to cry. I'm sorry I brought her up."
"N-no..." she said while holding Keith's hand. "It's... alright. I'm just getting emotional..."
Keith just looked at Kylie. Even though she has changed a lot, she still had that beauty in her eyes. Keith then mentally shook himself as Kylie spoke. Just then, a glint of light went into Keith's eye. He blinked and looked at the reflective source.
"You still have the necklace I gave you?" He said. "I thought you threw that away."
"Throw it away?" she said, looking to Keith. "Keith, I love this necklace! I would never throw it away. Ever." She then sighed. "But this isn't about me. "Why did you want to meet here?"
Keith was shocked. It's been 18 years, and Kylie was wearing the necklace he gave to her when she was sick. Was it really that special to her?
"Hello?" Kylie's voice then came. "Earth to Keith, do you read me?"
Keith then shook his head and got out of his thoughts. "Yeah." He then sighed. "Denice... four months ago she... got angry at me."
Kylie raised her brow.
"What happened?" She asked.
"She was saying that I wasn't giving her everything," Keith replied. "She left for a while. I... called her, and in the other side was another voice: a man's voice."
"Are you saying you think she-"
"I know she cheated on me!" He growled, making Kylie jump. "She filed a divorce a few days after I called her. I just..."
Keith's hands balled into fists as Kylie tried to calm him down. Keith had his eyes fill with tears, but he didn't want Kylie to cry again. Who knows what the hella she's been through?
However, instead of crying, Kylie hugged Keith. Tight. She was heartbroken for him. Even though she loved him, she couldn't stand seeing him like this. She felt as if her heart shattered into more pieces than when he told her he loved someone else. But this time, she wouldn't cry. She would help.
"Keith..." she said. "I'm... so sorry. You two seemed so happy."
"We were," he said while embracing her back. "But... she didn't care anymore."
They stayed that way for a few minutes before pulling back. Keith looked into Kylie's blue eyes. She still had that kindness that she always had as a kid. She was a sweetheart that would forever be an angel.
"I wish I understood," she then said.
"Hmm?" Keith said. "Understand heartbreak?"
"No. I've felt it before. I don't understand what it feels like to go through love. Otherwise, I would help you more."
"Wait, what?" He was shocked. "Are you saying you haven't loved someone?"
"I have. But I've never been with anyone."
Keith put his hand to his forehead and leaned against the bench. He couldn't believe it. Someone, as sweet and kind as Kylie, has never stolen a man's heart? She stole his heart years ago. But she's never been able to do that with another person? He scoffed.
"Are you serious?" He said. "Not even one man has asked you out?"
"A few have," she replied. "But they were men I had no interest in." She looked to Keith. "I'm not desperate for love like they were."
"Haven't your parents asked you about this?"
"They have. And they've both given up on it. Sara and Brook have thought otherwise."
Just then, Kylie's phone rang. She looked at it and gasped. Keith looked at her, worried once again, but Kylie just stood up and growled silently.
"What's going on?" Keith asked.
"It's my boss," she replied. "She said I'd better have my presentation ready by tomorrow."
"Dude, that lady never gives you a break! Why don't you just quit?"
"I have no other option. Plus, she was looking for people when others turned me down."
Kylie out her phone away and sighed. Keith stood up as she was about to leave. She looked to him as he gently grabbed her wrist. He looked to her and sighed.
"Kylie, don't do this to yourself," he said. "This is just going to ruin your life. You need to stop."
"How can I!?" She yelled. "God damn it, Keith, what am I suppose to do?" She walked up to him as tears came to her eyes once more. "I have no where to go besides here. No one else will take me. Listen, I just-"
Keith then silenced her by placing his lips to hers. Kylie was shocked by this act, but as soon as Keith pulled her closer, she close her eyes and put her hands on his shoulders. She felt her heartbeat getting faster and faster by the second. Her face flushed when Keith brought his free hand to her face, and she felt... like she was flying. After so many years, Kylie was able to kiss the one she loved.
When they pulled back, Keith's cheeks were warm, and Kylie's was full of blush. He then put his forehead to her and spoke in a voice just above a whisper.
"Kylie," he said. "I love you more than anything. If I see you get hurt or you're stressed over something, I can't take it."
"Keith..." she said, finding her voice. "I... why?"
"Why what?"
"Why do you even love me in the first place?" She asked.
"Oh, I've loved you for a long time," he chuckled. "Ever since we were kids. Denice... stole my heart for a while."
Kylie's eyes widened at his statement. Since they were kids? How has he maintained to keep that a secret for so long? The again, she's kept it a secret that she liked him.
"So Hannah and my mom weren't lying," she then said.
"Lying about...?" Keith said while raising his brow.
"So you did use to stare at me during my sisters' weddings. You were the lover boy my mom talked about."
Keith blushed a bit more than he already was. He smiled as he closed his eyes.
"You were, and still are, the prettiest girl I've ever seen," he admitted. "Even Greg and Zack told me that I should've just kissed you in the ballroom."
"Those two... how are they anyways?"
"They're gonna start teasing me as soon as they find out that I kissed you."
Kylie's phone then rang again, and when she checked, she sighed with frustration. Keith knew she had to leave, so he pulled back from their closeness.
"Are you planning on coming home during Christmas?" He asked. "Surely your boss gives you Christmas off."
"Yeah," she laughed. "But last year she gave me some work to do."
"Then let's pray she doesn't this year?"
Kylie smiled at Keith.
"I'll pray every night to make sure it doesn't happen."
The two then said goodbye as they went their separate ways.

"Oh God..." Kylie said. "What if I trip on the way there? I'm not use to heels..."
"Oh calm down," Brook said while doing Kylie's makeup. "If I could get down the aisle, then you can, too."
"Besides," Sara said. "I can finally see my baby sister get married."
"And I get to be her flower girl!" Lola said while hugging Kylie from behind. "I knew that you two loved each other from the start!"
Kylie blush turned slightly darker, and Brook just laughed. Just like Keith said, his friends teased him a lot when they found out about him kissing her. Her sisters, in her opinion, were worse. They kept on asking about when they're gonna have nieces or nephews from her, and she just blushed and told them to stop thinking too much.
"Khala?" Kylie's other niece, Abby, said. "When did you fall in wuv with Keith?"
"Actually..." Kylie said while picking the five year old up. "I've loved him since I was 15."
Sara and Brook's eyes widened. They didn't know that they're little sister fell in love with Keith at that age. They knew she liked someone, but that meant that she was heartbroken when Keith got married. The two looked at each other and silently said "we are going to ask her about this when she's back from her honeymoon."
"Well," Sara then said. "I think it's time that our little sister goes down the aisle."

The soft yet happy Desi song Channa Mereya played as Kylie slowly came down the hall and into the ballroom. Everyone gasped at how beautiful and pretty she looked in her purple wedding dress. She looked up at Keith, and he was slowly rising, his eyes widening at her appearance, as he took her soft hand to let her up on the stage with him. She sat next to him, looking down and smiling bashfully.
The Molvie then said his prayers to the two, and when he was finished, Hannah came up to the stage. She smiled at the two and spoke into the microphone.
"Keith," she said. "Throughout my entire life, all I've seen you do is stare at Kylie with love in your eyes."
The people in the room chuckled to her statement. Especially Greg and Zack. Keith just blushed as he looked to Hannah with a playful smirk.
"And now you are seated next to her, knowing that she is yours," she continued. "You are my beloved brother, and I give you all my blessings because I know that Kylie will bring you the upmost joy to your life."
Everyone from Kylie's and Keith's family came up to say something, but when Kylie's mom came up, Kylie purses her lips. Her mom thought that she would stay forever alone. She thought she would never get married in the life that she had. She took in a deep breath as her mother spoke.
"Kylie," she said in a soft voice. "I have loved you for the 26 years you have been alive. And now someone else has a place in their heart for you." She looked to Keith and smiled. "When I heard that you had fallen in love with your childhood friend, I knew that you would love each other for life. I've known from the very beginning that he loved you since you were children."
Kylie blushed and chuckled with the crowd.
"And now, you are all grown up and sitting beside him." Her mother wiped away some tears that were forming, and Kylie had some of her own. "I hope you two the best of love with each other, your children, and your grandchildren to come. I love you, Kylie."
As the crowd clapped for the speech, Kylie mouthed "I love you too" to her mother.
As the evening went on, the two were allowed to go outside together. They were on the porch, looking over the city of lights and beauty. Keith then took Kylie by her waist and pulled her close. She put her head against his chest and sighed with love.
"Remember when we were 18 how we spoke on this porch."
"Mhmm..." Kylie answered as the wind lightly blew on her face. "Lola said she would love you because you loved me."
"And does she?"
"She spoke about you all the time," Kylie said while looking to Keith. "And she apparently can't wait to have another cousin besides Abby."
The two looked at each other and laughed. Keith kissed Kylie's cheek and whispered in her ear.
"Maybe in a short while we could try~" he said seductively.
Kylie blushed as he said that and looked away. Keith then smiled and picked Kylie up from the ground. She squeaked from the suddenly action, but soon laughed with Keith.
The two then lived with each other after a few years. They had two kids: a boy named Kyle, and a girl named Kirsten. They all grew together and loved each other to the very end.
GOD DAMN THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL! This was my best romance story ever!!!! Can't wait to show this to Kylie. Huh? Oh yeah. Keith and her are real, but this story isn't. I know, so sad. And they're not in their twenties yet. They are still younger than that. XD PEACE!
