Markiplier X Reader
I crept into the room as quietly as possible, a camera attached to my head. "H-hah, guys, I don't know about this game anymore..." I whimpered. A dark voice responded, echoing around the room. "Well Y/N, I'm afraid it's a bit too late to leave." The open door, my only light source, slammed behind me with a bang. I spun wildly at the noise, almost tripping. "Why on earth did I agree to this," I mumble to myself, and to the people who would watch my fright later.
"Don't worry, we'll have to get scared later!" Sean shouts. "You'll be fine, sis! But please be careful not to fall!" His sudden response startles me and I back into a solid surface.
Spinning around on contact, I meet a table. "I get scared WAY too easily for this!!" I fearfully complain. Dark chuckling sounds from behind me as I jerk around in panic. "Then this will be even more fun," the anonymous voice replies. A hissing sound begins, and I can feel fog starting to roll in around me. Lights begin flashing around the room, too weak for me to see by but strong enough to add on to my mounting terror.
Tall, dark figures glide from place to place around the room, black robes swishing. I almost laugh when I recognize Sean's green hair poking out of one of the hoods, briefly relieved. "I seriously hope you don't plan on sacrificing me," I joke. "I know a lot of fans who would be upset-"
"ENOUGH!" booms the voice. "We have decided to give you an offer... You get to choose one person to go with you, but we hold nothing back; the rules we set earlier will give you no protection." I thought for a moment, making sure my eyes didn't leave the figures. "Sean gets scared too easily so not him," I muttered. "Marzia will be just as scared as me, Felix is probably the speaker, and I don't know everyone else that well."
"Have you decided?" The voice questions.
"I'll take Mark," I decide. "It's his apartment after all."
"Very well," the speaker replies. "Best of luck to you both." Mark steps out from the group of cloaked people, flinging his own off so it hits Sean in the head. He stands beside me as Sean, obviously upset by my choice, forcefully throws the robe Mark had worn to the ground. As the figures disappear back into the darkness, Mark steps closer to me and leans over to whisper in my ear. "I have no clue why you chose me, but thanks! Jack said I had no chance getting picked over him, and that just proved him wrong!" he giggled, doing a little dance. I laughed as I watched him, but froze as a figure appeared. Mark noticed my change in mood and his face immediately fell. "There's someone behind me, isn't there Y/N," he stated in a flat voice.
"Yep," I manage, my voice betraying my panick.
"Well, that's just great," Mark replied. "Stick together, we can't let them split us up!"
"Sounds good to me!" I choke out. Mark quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the figure, who made a grab at us. We dodged their grip and began heading in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, this just so happened to be a wall. "Well, it appears we made a slight error in judgement.." Mark trailed off.
"This way," I replied, pulling him towards me. We followed to wall as closely as possible, hands still entwined. His grip was strong but soft, palms warm. Eventually we reached the inevitable, a corner. I tried to lead us to the next wall, but one of the robed figures blocked the way. Turning around, I noticed the figure from before closing in on us. "Er... Now what?" Mark laughed nervously. I leaned towards him. "I'll shout something random. When I do, jump forward away from the corner and run. We'll find somewhere to hide out," I whispered as quietly as possible. He gave a tiny nod in response, bracing himself. Both figures stepped forward.
"CAPYBARA!!!!!!" I screeched, jumping with Mark. We just barely made it past the two and ran like our lives depended on it. Unfortunately, someone was sitting on the ground directly in my path. I yelped as I stepped on them and felt my foot being grabbed, yanking me down to them. Mark's hand slipped away from mine as I fell forward onto the soft carpet. "Y/N!!" he yelled, turning back.
"JUST GO!!!" I cried. "They have my leg; save yourself!!!" He paused, seeming uncertain, before I heard his footsteps fade away. The person who held my leg pulled me close to them, my back against their chest. Their arms wrapped around me and I felt their grip tighten around my torso. "Sorry Y/N," they whispered, their voice carrying an accent I know well.
"Sean?!" I whispered back, confused. "What do you-" My words were cut off by the scream that tore itself from my throat. Hanging over me was the horrifying face of a VERY demented looking clown. I surged against Jack, struggling to get away. The clown cackled maniacally as it started at my terrified face, enjoying itself probably too much for any being watching another's panic.
"Oh princess, there's no need to be afraid," it said in a creepy voice, leaning into my face. "I'll only have a little fun with you! And don't worry about your Prince Charming, we'll get him soon enough!" I was done. Summoning my strength, I swung my head forward and our foreheads collided with a crack. The clown howled in pain while Sean, shocked, relaxed his grip slightly. I swung my head back and another crack was heard, this time with Sean's shout of pain.
Though my head was reeling, I squirmed out of his arms and stood, trying to run away. Unfortunately I stood up too fast, and this mixed with the hits from moments before made me lose what little sight I had had. Sounds and voices began to fade, and I started forward on unsteady legs. "Y/N!!" I heard Mark call, but it was distant and quiet. I tried to fight the inky blackness, but it pulled at me, and I was exhausted. My legs gave out as the darkness cradled me in its comfort, and I felt myself drift into unconsciousness. Oh no, I thought. I think I just ruined the video...

When I peeled back my eyelids, I couldn't see. I began to panic, blinking rapidly and hoping I wasn't blind. It felt like I was on someone's lap, and two fuzzy voices reached my ears. "What... she was... from you! How... you let... happen?!" It sounded like Mark, and he was mad. I picked up the sound of sneakers pacing as if from far away. "Wasn't.... if... HER fault!" the second voice replied, thick with Sean's Irish accent. I wanted to move, get up, say something to let them know I was alright. But I couldn't do it.
"...why did you let... could've stopped her!"
"..tried! ...couldn't have... better!!"
"Well... did a lousy job trying!!!"
"I have to stop them fighting," I told myself. I blinked some more and vaguely began to see the outlines of some objects around me. It was odd, connecting white dots to see the shapes of what was around me. I tried to speak again, but I could only manage a hum. It seemed to be enough, however, because the arguing stopped and I saw one of the outlines hurry over. "Y/N, are you ...kay?"
"Give her a minute Jack, she just woke up!" Mark scolded, the other moving outline looking down at me. I groaned at how loud their voices were, closing my eyes again. "I'll be right back with some water sis, hold on," Sean said as the figure that had hurried to me sprinted away. Mark gently readjusted me as my shoulders began to slip off of his legs. He placed his hand on my arm, the warmth relaxing me enough to begin feeling a throbbing in my head and ache on my right side. I opened my eyes again and the room came into focus, Mark watching me carefully with concern written across his face and Jack carefully running back to the couch i was set upon.
The two carefully lifted my head and shoulders enough for me to get a quick drink. "Jack, could you get an ice pack? You said she hit her head twice, so she'll definitely have a headache," he said, pointedly glaring.
"Of course," Sean said evenly, staring back.
"Guys.." I started, my voice rasping slightly. The two looked at me and Sean immediately pet my arm, his gaze softer. "I'll be right back sis, don't worry," he said, getting up and jogging out of the room. As soon as he left, Mark began talking. "I'm so sorry Y/N, he should've let you go after you hit heads with Felix or stopped you from standing and trying to run off or-"
"Jack," I interrupted. "I'll be fine, and it wasn't Sean's fault. I was the one who used my head as a weapon, and my actions caused me to faint. I'm sorry for ruining the video," I said, looking away.
"Y/N... you know the phrase 'use your head' isn't literal right? And you didn't ruin the video, you just ended your round; Marzia is actually going right now," Mark replied with a smile, his voice soft. Moments later a muffled scream rang out from another room, followed by a shout of "FELIX YOU'RE DEAD WHEN THIS IS OVER!!!" in a frightened yet furious tone. Mark and I laughed and Sean came back with an ice pack. He handed it to Mark and hugged me. "I have to go join everyone else in scaring Marzia but I'll be back as soon as I can Y/N. Then we're having a serious talk about your defensive tactics," he said, lightly squeezing me before standing.
"Fine," I agreed. "But then we're also going to have a talk about you holding down your sister while she's being terrorized by a person in a demented clown costume."
"Fair enough," he laughed, releasing me and standing. "If you need anything make Mark do it. Love you sis!" Mark rolled his eyes and I snickered, nodding. "Go have fun Sean, but if I hear you're holding anyone else to be terrorized by a clown you'll be in trouble," I warned him as he walked away.
"No promises!" he called as he sprinted out.
"Seeaaaannnn!!!" I yelled, exasperated. The pain in my head had dulled to a throb and I looked back to Mark. "Can I have that ice pack? My head doesn't hurt super bad but-"
"No no, I've got it," he interrupted, holding the pack to my head. "Do you need anything else?" I shook my head lightly. "No, I'm fine. Thank you for staying, I'm sorry you don't get the chance to film with everyone else because of me." Mark looked shocked and that, his eyes widening. "Y/N you aren't holding me back! I chose to stay because I was worried about you! You aren't making me do anything, and your well being comes before any video," he stated with certainty. "And... well, I really like and care about you," he said, his cheeks dusting pink as he broke eye contact.
"Mark..." I trailed off, shocked. "You seem like the nicest person, and I'd love to get to know you more. I'm honored to know that you care about me, and also very confused why I of all people am someone you like. I mean, I've known you for a few hours now and you've already put up with me pulling you into my round of the horror game and fainting. Plus you're staying back to make sure I'm okay, which is really sweet of you." I slowly sat up, holding the ice pack to my head and leaning against the couch. "You're such a hot- AMAZING PERSON!! I meant to say amazing I'm sorry I'm sorry!!" I yelped, covering my face with my arm as I felt it heat up. Mark laughed, pulling away my arm and smirking. "Oh, so Y/N thinks I'm hot," he said, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Ugh, I'm so glad the camera isn't rolling anymore- WAIT NOOOOO!!!!" I groaned, realizing it was still on my head. "I swear Mark you better have that edited out or Sean will come for you the minute he's done killing me," I said, staring hard at him. He held up his hands in surrender, his eyes staying on mine. "I'll edit it out, calm down," he replied, smirking. "But I'm still keeping the original clip."
"MAAARRRKKKK!!!!!" I yelled as I sat back, frustrated.
"Love you too, Y/N!" he smiled cheekily, hugging me tightly.
I am so sorry this took so long Skipper-chan14 , and I unfortunately won't be talking any more requests because they'll probably take just as long. I might start again if I finish one of my other books, but as of next chapter this book will be on hold. Once again, I'm very sorry!!
