mark and donghyuck looked at each other before looking at the sad teenager eating breakfast with them. dahyun, too, was worried and call her a bad sister but she was just too hungry to ask her brother what's up.

chan, is everything fine?

no, of course not everything is fine. he was hurting, his heart was breaking. why did he even try to assume and think that jiro will like him? that there's a slight chance that jiro will return his feelings back. jiro doesn't like him. then what was all that helping? did jiro just help him yesterday in decorating the house because he thinks that chan is too weak for that? how about the kiss? was it nothing to jiro? was he just forced to kiss chan because he was annoyed at chan sulking? those questions ran through chan's head.

hey.

the teenager looked up and saw his parents looking at him, giving him worried looks. ❝i'm okay.

no you're not.❞ dahyun said, eating the chicken skin while her attention was on her brother. ❝there's something wrong.

i'm just tired okay.❞ chan sighed, ❝that's why i'm like this.

a knock can be heard from the living room and made donghyuck stand up to open it, giving his son a glance before going out of the kitchen and made his way to the front door.

a wide smile made its way to his lips, just the person he wants to see. ❝come in jiro.

chan was looking down and donghyuck knows that jiro can definitely turn that frown upside down. he was even bringing, not one but, two boxes of macaroons. this is surely going to make chan smile, no doubt.

donghyuck happily lead jiro to the dinning area, making everyone turn their heads to their directions. seeing jiro made them smile, but not chan. he didn't want to see him and yet he is here. what is he even doing here? he thought jiro hated him, why did he bother showing up? chan shrugged the thoughts of jiro coming here just to see him, maybe he's here because his parents asked him to.

i came to give chan these macaroons.❞ jiro raised the boxes and placed them down the table.

not wanting to put any meaning, chan eyed the boxes. ❝tell your parents i said thanks.

the tall male furrowed his brows, ❝but i bought them though.❞ and then showed chan his smile. ❝i bought them for you.

jiro is toying with him. he didn't want to believe that jiro is doing this because maybe, just maybe, he likes him too. why would he think that way it was clearly shown in the video that jiro didn't like him? and it's just macaroons. giving someone boxes of macaroons doesn't mean that you already have feelings for this someone.

maybe jiro just feels like being generous today.

but anyways, chan still doesn't want to play this game anymore. if jiro doesn't like him then why should he continue loving him?

two boxes of macaroons?❞ mark's jaw dropped and made jiro giggle while nodded his head. it was still unbelievable, there's no way jiro would buy two boxes of macaroons for chan.

dahyun drooled at those boxes, ❝chan sure is lucky.

speaking of chan, he wanted to leave. he didn't want to see jiro. he pushed his plate away from him and then stood up from his chair, catching everyone's eyes. ❝i'm not hungry anymore.

chan—

i'll be in my room.❞ chan said, passing by jiro and then made his way to his own room. he didn't even bring the boxes of macaroons with him.

it surprised everyone because chan never leaves macaroons alone. and now he just passed by it as if he could live without it because the chan they know couldn't live without macaroons.

and chan stayed there. he stayed inside his room for the whole day. he skipped lunch, ignoring the calls he got from his parents and the banging of the door which he guess is from dahyun. he's planning to skip dinner.

heartbreaks hurt.❞ chan mumbled, lying down on his bed for hours already. he has been staring at ceiling and surprisingly didn't get bored.

the sun was setting and his room was getting darker and darker, yet he didn't move. he laid down there, waiting for the night to come. he again heard his papa and dad calling his name from downstairs but he did not move an inch. he was tired. his eyes were tired from crying and all he wanted to do was to sleep but his won't seem to close.

he needs to go outside, take a walk in the park. maybe that can let him clear his thoughts.

pushing himself off the bed, chan grabbed a bright yellow hoodie and wore it, not bothering on changing his basketball shorts and went out with that. he silently made his way down the stairs, not wanting for his parents to bomb him with questions.

holding the door knob, a voice stopped him from twisting it. ❝chan.

the boy sighed and turned around only to meet his papa giving him a look.

what's wrong with you?❞ donghyuck went closer to him. ❝it wasn't nice of you to leave without giving thanks to jiro.

chan stood there, listening to his papa.

he bought it with his own money.❞ the adult sighed, running a hand through his hair. ❝you should have at least thanked him.

sure, he did something wrong, but jiro did too. it's not completely chan's fault for acting like that. he was hurt, do you expect him to smile at that person that hurt him?

i want you to go and say sorry to him.

he quickly raised his head up and furrowed his brows. ❝but—❞ but he was just going to have a walk, not go and apologize.

no buts chan. go, apologize and thank him for the macaroons.❞ donghyuck opened the door and then pushed the teenager out from the house.

feeling the cold air touch his legs, chan regretted not wearing any pajamas. he started to make his way out from the gate and faced the direction to where jiro's house is at. but do you think he'll go there? no. he turned to the opposite direction and then started to walk away. he's not going to apologize and he's not going to thank him for the macaroons. he can even give the macaroons back to him if jiro wants him to.

why does it have to be him?❞ chan mumbled, kicking the pebble he saw from the side walk. ❝there are billions of people around the world, and i have to fall for jiro.

there's a lot of people who likes him, from what he has observed, but he has too fall for jiro who doesn't even like him the slightest bit. clicking his tongue, chan kicked the pebble very hard that it went out from the sidewalk. following his eyes on the pebble, he slowly raised his attention to the basketball court that he had seen for the first time. chan wasn't used to roaming around this place that's why he doesn't know much about the neighborhood. he even got lost one time because of not knowing the neighborhood.

but the basketball court wasn't empty, there was one playing. his mind was telling him to walk away but his feet was dragging him close to the basketball court, finally getting a clear view on this person that's playing basketball alone.

this person shoot the ball but sadly missed and went to chan's direction. chan followed the ball that bounced in front of him and he caught with his hands.

you're here?❞ the person smiled.

i'm leaving.

no don't!

jiro, let go of me.❞ chan groaned, pulling his arms around jiro's hold.

the older pouted, ❝stay.❞ he loosened his grip on the younger's arm and now went to hold his hand. ❝stay and play with me.

no.❞ why is jiro doing this? that question has been running inside chan's head ever since this morning.

but chan..

i don't want to play with you, okay.

there was something wrong and jiro could see that. the older brought his hands up and cupped chan's face. ❝what's wrong?

loving you, that's what's wrong. if chan hadn't just developed feelings for him then he won't be acting like this. he won't be hurt. he would be playing basketball with jiro already. but he loved jiro, and that's why he was hurt.

love hurts.

chan—

shut up.❞ just hearing him breath made him angry. ❝stop calling me.

but why?

stop asking questions!❞ chan grabbed hold of jiro's wrist and put his hands down. ❝you think i'm annoying? i'm stupid? well i'm fucking sorry for being me!

jiro was taken aback when chan shouted and then cursed at him. what did he do to make him this angry? was the macaroons expired? are the two boxes not enough for him?

sorry for not being what you want me to be and i know you hate me because i'm all that. i'm so annoying and everything i do is stupid.❞ chan got the courage to look up jiro in the eye, ❝guess what, i hate you too.

chan, no. you are not annoying and you are definitely not stupi—

oh shut up!❞ chan pushed the tall male, tears threatening to fall but he didn't want to cry in front of jiro and that's why he needed to leave now. ❝i hate you.

jiro just stood there as he watched chan leave the court and ran away to wherever he is going. looking down, jiro was biting his lower lip. what just happened?

so your grandmother from china wants us to celebrate christmas there.❞ that's what jiro first heard from his papa as soon as he got inside the house.

jisung frowned when he saw his son looking all sad, ❝did something happen?

chan was mad at him, that's what happened. ❝no, i'm okay.

chenle smiled, going to his son and then cupping the boy's face. ❝we are always here when you need us, okay?

yeah.❞ he sighed, making his way to the sofa and flopped himself down. moments later, he could see his parents running around the house all busy and he could see luggages placed at the living room. ❝are you guys going somewhere?

chenle came down from the stairs and nodded. ❝i told you already, your grandmother wants us to spend christmas in china.

jisung sat down the sofa with a smile. ❝since we know you will stay here and spend christmas with them, your papa and i will be the only ones going to china.

spend christmas with who? with the twins who are busy with their princess? with jeffrey whom he hate and is surprisingly now close with twenty? with chan who he had just got in a fight with? who is there for him to spend christmas here?

bring me with you.

his parents' eyes widened at what jiro said. ❝what again?

he was willing to spend his christmas with chan, and probably also confess to him if he can find the right time to do so. but what can he do, the younger hates him. and they are somewhat having a fight.

he can't enjoy his christmas if he stays here, might as well go far from them. far from chan because he felt guilty for some reason. what did he do to hurt him that bad? he doesn't deserve to spend christmas with chan. if chan doesn't want to see him then he's not going to ruin chan's christmas by being there.

i'll go with you.
