Our Disaster on Repeat

"Good evening, this is Saigai news and I'm Kyuta Tanaka broadcasting live from Tokyo."

The sound of the TV was muffled in the background as you attempted to make yourself one of your favourite drinks. Somehow, you always mess it up.

"Y/n, you're making a mess." Shintaro shook his head as trudged over to the lounge and fell back on it. He picked up the TV remote, and was about to change the channel, but something caught his eyes.

"-e date predicted is September 23. Is there anything we can do to stop it? No, but all we can recommend, is that you spend your last days doing what you love, or being with who you love."

Spend your last days? Last...days?

You suddenly felt a cold shiver run up what was left of your spine. Shintaro just sat there staring at the TV, watching the breaking news.

You felt your vision slowly fading into black. And you heard Shintaro's voice also fading out...

***

You jolted up, eyes wide, cold sweat.

You found yourself lying on the lounge, how you got there? You don't know. Shintaro was also sitting on the lounge, but his expression remained the same as it normally did as he stayed focused on the TV. You decided to lie back down, still a bit confused from the events of what you were hoping was a dream.

"Shintaro?" "Hm?" "I had a terrible dream just then..." you said as you played with his hand. He eventually stopped letting you play with it by moving it up to your face. He traced your jawline with it. "I had a dream that the world will end in four days time... On September 23rd."

Suddenly, his hand stopped tracing your face. "Y/n, that wasn't...a dream."

"And if it was, it's a nightmare that you still haven't woken up from..."

Shintaro looked pale... paler, than he usually did.

***

"Run! Y/n! Don't stop!" Shintaro screamed out from behind you as the wind blew your hair around wildly. The sky had gone a dirty crimson, and the clouds a horrible brown. Your feet were trying to take you as far as they could, but the rubble under your feet just slowed you down.

Your world around you was falling apart just as quickly as you fell in love with Shintaro. He kept up behind you, making sure you stayed ahead.

"Where are we going!?" You panted, trying to sort things out. "Home! Keep going!"

You rounded a corner, and stopped in your tracks. Metres away from you was where the apartment building you and Shintaro called home. But... like most of Tokyo...

It was destroyed.

You turned to Shintaro, with desperate salty tears in your eyes. He could read your emotions, and he knew what you were thinking. What now?

"I don't know Y/n... We're just going to have to keep running..." He said grimly as he held one of your hands. "I can't! I can't Shintaro! I can't! My feet hurt too much and if I run anymore I'll pass out!" You were at breaking point as hell descended onto your city. You had grazes on your knees and arms from where you had occasionally tripped and stumbled. Your face was dirty from dust, smoke, and ash. Shintaro's hair was messy and ruffled, and speckles of dirt on his face, but somehow that bought some sense of calmness to your distraught heart.

"Shintaro..." "No... Y/n..."

As you tilted your head to the ground exhausted, you suddenly felt someone wrapped their arms under your back and hoisted you up. Shintaro wasn't a very strong boy, but at this point in time, you were so malnourished, he could lift you up easily. You were going to tell him to stop and save his energy, but his attitude right now...just...

He started running with you in his arms. Towards where? No one could tell. Not even him. He just headed in the direction that looked the least chaotic, however...

Shintaro didn't know he was heading into the calm of the storm. He didn't know what was waiting for he two of you there.

Suddenly Shintaro yelped, and dropped you. You hit the ground with a thud, hitting the back of your head on the pavement. Shintaro fell on top of you.

You tried sitting up to talk to Shintaro but, a warm, sleepy, darkness took over your sight, and you fell back.

"Y/n..." "Shin...ta......"

"Don't be...afraid of the wolves in sheeps clothing..."

"Nrghhh..." You groggily sat up, wiping what must've been tears from your eyes.

You found yourself lying on the lounge, how you got there? You don't know. Shintaro was also sitting on the lounge, but his expression remained the same as it normally did as he stayed focused on the TV. You decided to lie back down, still a bit confused from the events of what you were hoping was a nightmare.

"Shintaro?" "Hm?" "I had a terrible nightmare just then..." you said as you played with his hand. He eventually stopped letting you play with it by moving it up to your face. He traced your jawline with it. "I had a dream that the world was ending..." His ears perked up at the mention of the world ending, and he looked into your eyes with curiosity.

"The world was, ending?" "Yeah... and, we were running from something... I can't remember what though. But I do remember we had to get to the apartment! But when we got there, the building was destroyed... Then you picked me up and you started running with me in your arms and then you, passed out? I don't know, but you went unconscious, letting me fall to the ground and then you landed on me. I think the nightmare ended after that...?"

"Oh, that's scary, and disturbing..." Shintaro said as he bent over you, bringing his face close to yours.

"We're lucky it was only a nightmare then, right?"

He then bought his lips to yours, and you melted into a much needed kiss. It was comforting, he was comforting. You didn't want this to end, especially like your world had in that nightmare.

But halfway through the bliss you were enjoying, you felt Shintaro harshly bite your bottom lip. Drawing blood.

You yelped out in pain with watery eyes as Shintaro sat back on the lounge manically laughing. "Wh-what is th-this....?" You stuttered, very afraid.

"Oh Y/n... you're so sweet when you're scared. If only you weren't so scared of the wolf in sheeps clothing."

Shintaro couldn't stop laughing, he was showing the signs of maniac, or dare you say a yandere perhaps. You backed yourself up at the other end of the lounge, but Shintaro pinned you down.

And with that, he smashed his lips into yours, the kiss being one of brute force and hurt. You faded out again, into that same darkness that had taken you in your nightmare...only to awake to a worser one.
