Round 2 pt 2(Angst/Fluff)
Proofread
Kol POV
________
Everything is fuzzy. The world around me, Shino laying on the floor, Metica burnt and also having a nap on the floor. Then it kicked in. I started panicking and hitting my head to refocus. I picked up Shino, uncaring about his blood that was on his clothes. There's no way I'll let him bleed to death.
I started running to the nurses office, they usually stay late. I ran over with Shino in my arms. I still felt weak and dazed as I ran through streets, almost getting hit by a few cars. My vision was down for the count and I could just barely see lights. My legs started to give out on me as I pushed through the doors of the nurses office. As soon as we were inside I also passed out.
When I awoke, I was in a bed. I sat up and looked around. I saw Shino in a bed next to me. I got up to check him. He was passed out. I touched his arm gently. There was a drip stuck into one of his arms. He looked uncomfortable. I was tempted to take the drip out in case that was the issue but I didn't. Then Venus came in. I frowned.
"Is he ok? Am I ok?" I asked immediately.
"You have two broken ribs, so sit your little ass down," I complied, afraid to argue with a pregnant person. "You have a slight concussion but you should feel better in a few days. Your arm is sprained as well but that's the extent of you." Then they looked at Shino. "That one has three broken ribs, intense bruising on his abdomen and side. He's bandaged up around the waist, but the bandages will need changing constantly. He overused his quirk so some temporary blindness, fatigue. Oh and a mild concussion." Venus took a deep breath and looked at me.
"Ok, that's a lot..." I said before getting cut off.
"Oh and expectedly there's blood loss on him." Venus added. "Gonna tell me how this happened? This was no spar."
I sucked in my breath and bit my lip.
"We had a run in, but no biggie..." I said avoiding the issue.
"No biggie? You both could've, no would've died if you didn't make it in time. Run in with what?!" Venus walked over and stared me in the eyes.
"The truth."
I sighed and stayed silent. Venus sighed heavily and left the room. I walked back over to Shino again and awkwardly lifted his shirt to see his bandages. It looked like it needed changing. I slowly unwrapped it but I was shocked at the bruise. It was really bad, particularly on his stomach that wrapped to his side, exactly where he was bleeding. It's his blood though that shocked me. There was an odd shimmer to his blood, small flecks of yellow mixed with the average red. I threw away the bloody bandage and grabbed another roll quickly. I got a bit of experience when I didn't go to the doctors for a while, vigilante stuff. I pressed wrap around him, carful not to disturb him.
Shino started to move in his sleep, midway through the wrapping. He blinked his eyes open before closing his eyes again immediately.
"That's just great.." Shino mumbled before noticing my presence.
He reached over and touched me. He felt my hands, entangled in some bandage wrap.
"Oh, Kol. Sup..." Shino said blandly.
"The heck?" I said with a chuckle before leaning over him again, wrapping him tightly.
"First of all, ouch, second of all, your hands are always dry, invest in some lotion please." Shino said in irritation.
I loosened up the bandage a bit because I could tell it hurt more than he was letting on. When I finished he let out a breath of air. Has he been holding his breath this whole time? I patted his stomach gently and he chuckled.
"Thanks?" Shino said tracing a finger over his new bandage."How do you feel? You got thrown around a bunch."
"I should be asking you that, I think your worse. I've most definitely been better though." I said sitting on the side of his bed.
"I..Let's just say I'm used to the feeling of pain." Shino said putting a arm behind his head lazily.
"What you did to Metica was sick. Not sure if I mean it nicely or not." I fell backwards, resting my back on his legs, kicking my feet up on a bookshelf.
Shino laughed before talking. "I assume you left him?"
I nodded then wallowed in my embarrassment before stifling out a yes.
"You nodded didn't you? That pause was too long."
"Yeah..stop being so damn intuitive."
"Hey, that intuition of mine is one of the reasons we're still alive today."
"I suppose. Good job Shino. I...I'm proud of you."
I saw a smile creep onto Shino's face. This smile was soft, not his usual cocky smirk, a smile of happiness.
"Thanks Kol, you didn't get pummeled to bits, I'm proud of that." The soft smile disappeared almost as quick as it came, being replaced by the smirk.
I rolled my eyes and frowned knowing he doesn't see my displeasure.
"I'm tired, get off." Shino said slightly kicking his leg.
I sighed and slid off his bed, making my way to my own. I relaxed into the somewhat soft bedsheets and took one more glance at Shino before closing my eyes.
The last thing I saw was Shino laying on his back, tracing over the bandages where his scars were.
"You'll be ok."
"...Thanks... For the bandaging..."
"No problem. No problem at all."
