table read

After having dinner together, Madison and I helped Austin and Drew to get their stuff to our apartment and move in already since they had only booked their hotel until tomorrow. This morning, the boys and I go to the table read together.

"Chase! Come here, bro", Drew calls a blonde guy who immediately comes over to us, "That's Sarah, she's playing Isabella, JJ's love interest. Sarah, that's Chase, he's playing John B."

"Oh my god, finally we get to know you! Drew's been saying a lot about you", another girl joins us with two boys and Madison before I can give Chase my hand. "I'm Madelyn by the way and those are Jonathan and Rudy."

"They play Sarah, Pope and JJ", Madison tells me, "And we are going to play cousins!"

"Hi guys, I'm Sarah."

"Yeah and famous", Drew grins next to me so I slap his arm in a friendful way, "I'm living with a famous singer."

"Will you shut up?"

"A singer?"

"A famous one?"

"Here's her profile when you google her", Austin tells them pulling out his phone, "She makes about four to five millions a year and became a millionaire eight years ago when she's been eighteen. No wonder she doesn't ask Drew and me to pay rent."

"Austin!"

"Oh my god that means you made about thirty to fourty millions already", Jonathan gasps.

"Hey, who's that? Are you dating a soccer player?", Rudy asks pointing to one of the pictures which show my best friend from home and I after their last win a few weeks ago.

"No, that's just my best friend."

"She's friends with a whole soccer team", Drew informs them.

"Is that your boyfriend?", Chase asks showing a picture with my ex-boyfriend so shake my head heavily.

"He has been my boyfriend about a year ago but not anymore", I explain.

"I know that guy", Rudy states surprised, "I mean I don't know him but he plays for one of the most famous soccer clubs in Europe. He won the world championship."

"Girl, you've been dating a famous soccer player!", Madelyn exclaims with a grin.

"Can we like switch lifes already?", Madison chuckles next to me.

Before I can say something about it, Elaine - Jonas' assistant - is calling us to come to the table read so we stop our conversation and sit down on our seats.

I sit between Rudy and Madison since they are the ones my character has the most conversations with. Naturally, I'm a really shy person so I am glad that at least Madison is right next to me and I'm not surrounded by complete strangers. I have been enjoying the past days with Drew and Austin so I feel most comfortable around them. But soon enough I would talk to the others more so it's just a question of time how long it will take me to stop being shy around everyone.

Rudy also seemed to be friendly and funny so and while we were only reading our phrases, I already noticed that it would be totally fine playing a couple with him. Drew, Austin and I also have some phrases, especially in the beginning.

I would have to get to know Madelyn, Chase and Jonathan more to say something about them except for the fact that they were nice to me earlier.

But that will probably happen later when all of us are going to have dinner together including Elaine and Lilah, the director's assistant and daughter, who are already close friends with Madelyn.

We take a fifteen-minute break and Rudy turns to me showing me a cheeky smile. "So I'm going to play with a famous singer?"

"Not really famous", I chuckle shaking my head.

"You're a millionaire."

"Well, my parents were famous in my home country before. And you didn't know me before right? Then I can't even be that famous."

"You know some of the most famous soccer players in the world", he argues.

"I know them because I went to school with one of them but their skills don't say anything about me, right?"

"I like how you're decent."

"And I like your accent, where are you from?", I ask interestedly.

"I'm from the best state of the United States. Guess which one it is."

"New York?", I try it knowing that it's probably wrong. There are many states, how would I choose the right one?

"Alaska, of course!"

"Really? That sounds so interesting."

"You think?"

"Indeed, I do. I'm a fan of places which aren't so famous compared to the typical cities like New York or Los Angeles. I want to see something special. Not that New York isn't special enough", I chuckle hoping that he understands me.

"So you're definitely not the typical kind of girl?", he concludes questioningly, "I heard your dad is American, right? Where is he from? You don't have the usual foreign accent."

"My dad is from Augusta in Georgia but he moved to Germany when he was eleven. I didn't learn that much about the American part of my family but he did raise me speaking a proper English."

"Interesting story, Sarah. You're going to join us for dinner later on, right?"

"Yes, of course. I still have to get to know Jonathan, Chase and the girls. I've been only seeing Drew, Austin and Madison already. And you and I should probably talk more as well", I asnwer but realize that it may sound weird, "regarding our on-screen relationship I mean."

"I don't mind getting to know you better on a personal level as well", he smiles back and I would have loved to ask how he meant this but Elaine tells us that the break is over and we look back to our scripts.

Madi prods me on my leg so I give her a questioning look. "Enjoy the work already?", she whispers wiggling her eyebrows.

"I've got no idea what you mean", I act unknowingly.

"You and Rudy are obviously going to be close. Really close."

"I mean we have to, we play a couple."

"You're going to tell me how right I've been sooner or later", she grins.
