"'Cause I was sent to warn you the devil's in the next room"

*Brent's POV*

I stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom. My eyes glowed bright red as I tried to focus on my breathing. I had to get things under control, no one could see this side of me. Once I gained my focus, I noticed my eyes turn blue again. I took a deep breath before exiting the bathroom to join back up with the others.

"Everything okay?" Zach asked as I walked into the room.
"Yeah, everything's good" I responded while sitting down. Barry gave me a worried look but I just gave him a smile in return to show him everything was alright. I didn't need them stressing over me. I did my best to keep myself under control the rest of the day.

We managed to get some recording done, which helped me a lot. Music always kept me calm and under control. Once our day was done we all said our goodbyes and headed out. I got into my car but sat in the parking lot for a few minutes. I took a deep breath as I felt my other form break free. My eyes started glowing red again, my skin started turning a dark grey, and my horns grew from my head. The form change was painful and I hated it. I just wanted to be human.

I headed home and quickly got into my house, careful to make sure no one saw me. I ran into my bathroom and stared into the mirror. It didn't feel like me, this couldn't be my reflection. Suddenly, my phone buzzed, snapping me back out of my thoughts.
"We are all going out for some drinks, want to join?" Zach wrote. I ignored the message and walked into living room. I laid down on my couch, closing my eyes and wishing this would all go away.

I must have passed out, cause I was startled awake by knocking on my door. I peered our the window to see Zach and Barry at my door.
"Go away guys. I'm not feeling well" I called out.
"Come on Brent, this isn't like you" Zach said in a worried tone. I pressed my back against the door while I tried to calm down. I had to look human before they saw me. One of them started banging on the door, stressing me more. I tried to focus, but next thing I knew, Barry kicked my door open.

I fell over and curled up in a ball, afraid of how they reacted. It was silent. I looked up slowly to see Zach and Barry standing over me, frozen in shock.
"Brent... are you okay?" Zach quietly asked. I looked away and started crying. Suddenly, I saw Barry lean down and extend his arm to me.
"Come on buddy, let me help you up" he said warmly. I wiped away my tears and took his hand. Barry helped stand me up and Zach took a few steps back.

After a moment of standing in silence, Zach finally stepped closer to be by Barry's side
"Sorry Brent. We don't mean to react so poorly. This is all new to us" he said.
"Yeah. Why didn't you just tell us?" Barry asked. I looked down in shame.
"I thought you guys would see me as monster" I said softly. Barry grabbed my hand and smiled.
"We've seen your true colors Brent. We know you too well to ever see you as a monster." He said. I started crying again and pulled both boys into a hug.
"Just wait until Eric see this" Zach said with a chuckle. We all started laughing. I loved these boys so much
