Create balance
Our society has become so focused on how to make sure people can get in touch with us and connect with each other across platforms. This can be done with good intentions.
Let's also remember to connect with ourselves. Who are you? What inspires you? Motivates you? Matters to you? Bothers you? Who do you love spending time with? What are your favourite things?
Making time for you is important. Making time for who matters to you is important. Making time for what matters to you is important. When you create balance, you feel refreshed and invigorated, empowered and at peace, satisfied and fulfilled. A lot of science comes down to this: all things in nature seek balance.
And, funny enough, we often find that balance in nature. My dad asked me recently why I think people gravitate towards water. We discussed that perhaps it is because, for the most part, our bodies are made of water. And perhaps because we need water in order to live.
I remember being so surprised, as a kid, to learn that we are animals too. In some ways we've become so far removed from that fact, as though the world is humans vs. animals vs. nature. But we are animals and we are all part of nature.

This reflection came to me when I was listening to a talk about how apps can be placed across our devices as we transition from one to another.
