Into the Unknown
Morgan Elsbeth summoned everyone she would need to the Eye of Sion. Although she'd originally intended to take her journey into the unknown religions of wild space with only Baylan, and Shin at her side—things had changed quickly, in a way that proved she needed more than she thought. Even though the New Republic thought they had an advantage... Morgan knew otherwise. Her team was quick, agile, and skilled—with, or without Hati on their side. Although Baylan was still adamant that they find her, she had a different way of going about it. She stood in the center of the large control room, her hands clasped neatly behind her as she awaited everyone's arrival—everyone she would need for the next step... a step she hoped would both reunite her with the Grand Admiral, and provide a detrimental blow to the Republic as a whole...
Baylan had walked in first, part of him seeming out off by the fact that they couldn't wait to get send out until after Shin had returned to them... but he understood why. With her seeming so willing to be among the Republic that meant they may have been closer to finding the Grand Admiral then before. So with an overwhelming silence, he stopped at the end of the table with his own hands clasped behind his back.
Right after him, and precisely on time, a woman stepped through the doors, her shoes making an audible click against the hardened floor, causing the attention to be drawn to her. Her sight may have been startling for some, especially there—this woman was a Chiss, just like the Admiral that their group was searching for. Though Morgan Elsbeth seemed to be expecting her, and so she approached the table, a board look reflecting on her face—even more stoic than you might already expect from someone of her species. "I trust this means something. I offered my assistance with the knowledge that we'd be bringing Grand Admiral Thrawn back. Does this mean we're finally progressing?"
Morgan raised a hand. "Patience, Nebula." She addressed her by name—although it wasn't a traditional Chiss name, it made sense that she'd have changed it, considering she was clearly no longer apart of the Ascendancy. "We're still waiting on someone."
"Someone who does not seem to be all that timely, Morgan. Your tracker has done fine work gathering information for us, but he never appears to be very... punctual to these meetings." Baylan said with just a hint of impatience.
"Three minutes does not mean I'm late, Skoll." A deep voice with an accent traditional to those of the Empire cut through the room as boots tapped against the floor. Dressed in the armors of an inquisitor, Orian Hilron had officially entered the room and stood on the other side of Nebula.
Nebula barely glanced at him, before casting her glances towards Baylan, speaking in a low voice. "He's never on time for these things, I'm not quite surprised." It was low, barely an audible mutter—but it was clear the two of them had something going on.
If Morgan noticed any... vibes from her two agents, she didn't say anything. She just cleared her throat, leaning forward with her hands on the table. "If we're all done with disputes, I believe we have something more pressing to discuss. Baylan managed to get ahold of his apprentice, but clearly... things didn't go as planned, or else we wouldn't be here." She looked in his direction, as if to acknowledge this. "Between Nebula's knowledge, and research of the Admiral, and Orian's help in restoring our map... I believe we have enough information to get us into the Unknown Regions."
Orian's eyes briefly glanced to Nebula, before he looked back to Morgan and nodded slowly. "So does that mean we'll be on our way there...? If we want any chance at beating the Republic there, it might be our smartest move."
"It does. The Republic thinks they're ahead of us. They think they're the only ones with any access to the map—but that isn't the case." An amused smirk crossed her face. "So we'll be waiting for them. And by then... hopefully we'll have the Admiral on our side as well. I have complete faith in our team to catch them by surprise, and then we all get what we want." She clasped her hands behind her back once more. "And Baylan, you'll find Shin... she'll almost definitely be there."
Baylan gave an approving nod to her. "And once Shin is back within our reach I'm sure we can talk sense back into her."
"What are we waiting for, then?" Orian looked between each and every person, his eyes lingering on Nebula the longest. "Are you ready to take the journey?" His question seemed directed at everyone but his eyes, that boarded between the yellow ones prominent to those wielding the darkside, and blue ones of his natural color, kept focused on the Chiss.
"With a team as strong as this one, of course I'm ready. I have no reason to doubt you—any of you." Although she was better at hiding it, it was still fairly obvious that she tended to focus on the Inquisitor—though this was neither the time, nor the place for anyone to question what... might have been going on between the two of them. "Especially if it means finding Thrawn. I never cared much for the Empire, or the Ascendancy. My loyalty still stands with him, and therefore it stands with you." Nebula affirmed with Morgan. She knew... enough about their relationship. Especially with their *child* running around. It's one of the reasons she believed in her—Thrawn clearly had.
"Then I don't believe there's anything left to discuss." Morgan nodded in agreement. "Everyone prepare yourselves. I already have my droids in place, programming the jump into Hyperspace. We must be vigilant, and ready for anything. Are we all in agreement?"
"I am in full agreement, Elsbeth. I say there's no time like the present." Baylan expressed as he looked out the large windows the Eye of Sion possessed.
Orian nodded, crossing his arms. "Let's get going. No time to waste."
Morgan turned away from the table, approaching the ships central console to make sure everything was in order, all while double, and triple checking that the coordinates had been entered right. "Droids." She commanded, as she looked onward towards the Galaxy ahead of them.
"Make the jump."
(A/N: Nebula and Orian are both OC's that belong to my lovely girlfriend and co-author, Starry_Writer Xx. I'm glad to see everyone liking this story thus far 🥰)
