Oh, Good Grief - a poem by Summer Cheng(@SummerCheng37)
"Oh, Good Grief" by Summer Cheng
Oh, Good Grief,
My hair had a giant knot-
in it when I brushed it today,
it is cold outside,
the sun has yet to come out,
and I have a sinus headache:
and I am trying hard,
not to be in a bad mood.
Oh, Good Grief,
My son went on and on,
about how most poems rhyme,
even if they are not spelled the same way,
but what does he know about poetry?
It is not like he writes poems,
like I do,
so he how would know one?
If he tripped over a shoe,
Oh, Good grief.
Oh, Good Grief,
I sigh as I see another leaf,
fall on the ground,
all around me,
with the gentle breeze that flows,
as I try not to sneeze-
if you please,
and again I say,
Oh, good grief.
Oh, good grief,
That item goes up,
One shelf higher,
Did I even remember to get the clothes out of the dryer?
Oh, good grief,
I sigh in relief,
as I manage not to cry-
about all the craziness around me.
