Memorial Day,

 It is a holiday most have off,

 but is it is just about the bbq's, picnics, and fun

 out in the sun?

  Is it about the patriotic colors people wear,

 the lovely polish on our nails,

 our lovely hairstyles,

time with our families and friends,

or is there more to it?

What is Memorial Day,

for anyway?

You might ask

Well, I will tell you, my friend,

  It is the day we remember the fallen,

the soldiers who gave their lives,

so we could appreciate the freedoms

we have in America today!

 It is the memories,

of  the men, and the women,

the young and the old,

who paid the ultimate sacrifice

so we might be able to  be free

 to be ourselves

and worship God as we please

 so let us bow our heads

and thank God for what  the soldiers did for us,

this year on Memorial Day

 and in the years to come.

Ah, yes, Memorial Day,

is a special holiday indeed,

but it is not about the time off,

the parties,

the sun,

the fun,

the food,

etc.

No there is so much more to it than all this.

So let us not forget, 

let us never forget

the reason behind it.
