I once was a member of the pied poets,

    but would not you know it?

    The group when on hiatus

     and has not gotten back together yet.

       Oh, I wonder,

       Will the group ever reunite?

        I miss the others 

      that wrote such poems

     of excellence    

     that I sat down

    and wrote this poem.

   Oh, my dear beloved, pied poets,

    where have you gone?

    It has been so long,

   since we last wrote a line

    and each one pitched in

      to make a work of art

    where the others begin.

   I wish you all,

   well,

  for  I hope, 

   are doing just swell,

    despite the fact 

     we have not written as a group

    of poets

     ,   so far 

     this year

     as I shed a tear

      to show I wish you were here.

      I miss you, poets,

     and  I wish you would return

     soon

    so we can write together

    about a trip to the moon,

     a big baboon

    or a hot air ballon,  

    or anything else that comes to mind

     which we can find.
