Flowers for Her by Summer Cheng (@SummerCheng37)
The following poem was inspired by the one-shot Adrienette story, Stolen Flowers by Miraculous_Witch
Flowers for Her by Summer Cheng (
Adrien gathers up flowers,
for someone special,
he knew it probably was a bad idea
to be such a cheap stake.
What choice did he have?
It was not like had a job
or an allowance.
He stood outside the gate
and listened to the silence
as usual, no one stood in the lovely array of blooms
there were roses and various other flowers
but the best ones were the ones he knew were her favorites.
He peeked over the fence,
seeing no one,
he climbed over as he did once a week
sneaked over to a rose bush
and snipped off the top
he did it with such tender care
it is almost as if he did not want
to take away the beauty from it.
He held the single rose,
in the palm of his hand,
and he ran.
He ran to take the flower to her.
He never did say who it was for.
A few weeks went past,
the weeks turned into months,
one day he was caught,
like a deer in the headlights
like a chicken he ran
and barreled out of there as fast as he could
and did not stop until he got where he was meant to be.
The girl charged after him,
she wanted some sort of explanation,
how dare he come here every weekend:
to swipe buds off her most prized flowers.
and not pay for them.
It was her flower garden,
Marinette gasped when she saw him enter the graveyard,
she never would have guessed this was what it was all about
she wept as she saw him cry,
as he placed a single rose
beneath the marker that read
"Emile Agreste, beloved mother."
She knew with all her heart,
she could not stop him now.
Not when he did not take them out of spite,
but for love inside.
The love a son gives to his mother.
She did ask him though,
"Why did not you tell me the flowers were for her?"
I would let you have one,
If you asked.
bye, bye little owlets!
