This poem Emily the Clue Follower was inspired by @O4LoneWolf's story, a Single Rose (a Valentine's Story), so I dedicate this poem to her.

   Emily  could hardly believe it,

  ever since that first day

 she discovered a mysterious letter

from him;

She had been busy as a bee,

for as you see,

she was the clue follower.

Yes, that is right,

every note had a clue,

so she followed them one by one,

and wondered what sort of guy he might be.

Could he be timid,

  or a science nerd,

  or was he concerned that Emily 

would not accept him right away

for some reason or another?

Emily found the entire thing

sparked her interest,

for it made her feel important,

she still had to admit;

she pondered if it was a prank or not,

but for now, she decided to stick with it,

   to humor him.

Besides, she thought,

it was a bit amusing,

to have a boy interested in her;

especially since she had not thought it possible,

she was insecure as could be,

but she kept on the hunt,

 kept on looking out for the clues.

It had become a daily game of sorts to her,

and she did not think,

she could quit,

just yet

despite the fact,

she had considered it for a short moment or two.

  Emily was going to try her best,

to withstand each test;

 that he threw her way,

and hope 

 he meant every word,

and intended to stay

no matter what may come.

Emily was in this for the long run,

she was about to run;

to seek out the spot where the fourth clue leads, 

but then the bell rang to signal

the start of chemistry class,

so she sighed as she got her things,

and thought to herself,

it is okay, 

I still have the rest of the day

to find it.

With that, she stood up tall,

smiled for a change,

and got in line

for the chemistry room,

Deep down inside she felt over the moon;

and it was thanks to him.

Him and his letters,

and his clues,

his marvelous clues,

that gave her this mission;

as the clue follower.
