     Once there was  a lad named Adrien Agreste,

       He did not notice many girls,

      but there was one he did notice.

    Her name was Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

    Some might even say,

     He loved her

   with all his heart

    ever since the very start.

        He saw her in school,

       and he did not know much about the rules,

        but he knew instantly that she was the one for him,

          ah yes, he was one smitten boy.

         Trouble awaits in the shadows for him,

         one day after school as Chole Bougerious

         the mayor's daughter, who bragged about this fact

         every single day  of the week

       approached him, "Hi Adrikins!"  

          He turned around, "Ah, Chole! You scared me. I did not see you there."

             "I noticed. So here's the deal: You love me and no one else, or you're doomed. Got it?"

             Adrien shook his head, "You can't make someone love you that is not how it works. Besides, I love someone else. I love Marinette." He beamed as he spoke of the lovely bluenette.

            "Maribrat, ha, you can't possibly love her, Adrien!" Chole scoffed. Then, she pulled out something waved it around his head and he changed forms. Now he stood before her as a black cat in place of the boy he had once been. 

          "You must find someone to love you, or you will be doomed to be a cat forever!"Chole yelled. Then, she ran off, leaving him in the dust.

            Marinette exited the school and saw the cat with tears in his eyes, awe, the poor kitty, she thought.

             She picked him up and carried him home,

           where she cared for him

           but also missed Adrien. 

            Many weeks passed, then months, and there was no sign of him,

             Marinette was heartbroken since she secretly liked, no she loved him,

            but she hadn't told him,

           because it was obvious, he did not feel the same way about her.

             "Adrien, where could he be?" She asked. The cat meowed, and tried to get her attention,

             "What is it Chat?" She asked him. This was the name she had picked out for him.

               She noticed he had green eyes 

               strange he seemed familiar somehow,

               and he always greeted her by licking her nose.

                Over time, Marinette began to love the cat,

              and was afraid something dreadful would become of him

             especially since he was a stray

            she had taken in,

           so one day after she was finished with her homework,

        She did some sewing, then closed her eyes-

       She kissed the cat on the tip of his nose.

          She had not noticed, 

         the green light that flashed

        or the reaction he had when she had done this,

        but he kissed her back,

       and thought could it be she loves me?

           Marinette opened her eyes,

         and to her surprise,

        the cat was gone,

    and in it's place was Adrien, the boy she loved

     with all her heart

      so it gave her quite a start to see him smiling at her.

       "You did it, you broke the hold the curse had on me,

          my darling, Marinette!" Adrien said.

         Marinette wept, and he kissed her this time.

       Marinette kissed him in return,

     then, he got on one knee,

    and asked her to marry him,

    she said, "Yes!"

     Soon, word got around at the castle that Marinette and Adrien were together,

     that the fair maiden had been the one to return the Prince to his kingdom and his people,

     and the crowd cheered when they heard of their engagement.

        They cheered again when the couple was married,

          and once more when they saw the little one, Princess Emma in the queen's arms, shortly after she was born, 

  prince  Hugo who joined the family a few months later, and finally, Prince Louis.

     Yes, the story,

           had a better end,

      that how it had begun.
