Alice I'm so sorry about last night
Jungwoo is a friend of mine who got into trouble and he just needed help
I'm so sorry for being so short with you I was just stressed
Can you forgive me?
Shit I'm such a dumbass
Alice???
Yuta had been messaging Alice all morning but with no response. Eventually, it came to a point where he either left for school or was late.
Yuta sighed, he had no voice but to stop texting Alice and instead go get ready for school. He hopped off his bed, grabbed his backpack, and headed out the door.
Jungwoo never showed up.
The bell signaling the end of the first period rang after what felt like eternity. Yuta shot up from his seat and dashed over to where Alice's locker should be. He wasn't exactly sure where her locker was but he had a general idea as to where it might be.
He loitered around the locker area for what felt like forever. Just when he was about to give up a familiar pair of golden brown braids wisped over to locker 31113.
Yuta didn't hesitate to rush over to where Alice was getting her books. "Alice." He said breathlessly, "Did you get my texts?"
"I did."
"And?"
Alice sighed and shut the locker. She faced Yuta wearing a slightly annoyed and slightly pitying expression. Yuta just kept looking at her hopefully.
"I guess I can understand, if you were stressed, why you would be short with me." She finally said. "And I guess it's understandable that you would want to help your friend."
"So?" Yuta asked with growing impatience.
Alice's gaze rested on his face for what felt like forever (the equivalent to about 45 minutes in class) but Yuta did notice the anger in her expression was beginning to fade. She sighed again, a bit quieter this time. "I forgive you Yuta."
Yuta had to hold back the urge to squeal.
"But I'm in no mood to rush back out with you on another date."
Maybe not.
Yuta never pouted, but that day he found himself looking at Alice with the best puppy eyes he could muster. Courtesy of Jungwoo for doing it infront of him so many times. It was enough to make the corners of Alice's mouth twitch ever so slightly.
"You really won't give me a second chance?" Yuta asked.
"Alice!"
Alice looked over her shoulder to where a couple of her friends were gathered around the outside of one of her classes, waving her over. She gave Yuta one last look and began to make her way over to them.
"Alice?" Yuta called to her.
"I'll think about it!" She shouted over her shoulder. She arrived at where her friends were and linked arm's with two of them. "Goodbye Yuta." She looked back at him briefly before disappearing into the class.
Yuta sighed helplessly and leaned against the lockers. At least his day was starting to brighten up a bit?
"Top'o the mornin to ya mate!"
Never mind.
"Hey Woo." Yuta turned around to see Jungwoo wearing a fresh pair of bright blue jeans and a white T-shirt that he tucked into the pants. The look worked for him but Yuta would never admit that out loud.
Jungwoo waved at him enthusiastically and Yuta returned the wave only without nearly as much of the energy.
"Ready for class Woo?" Yuta had just accepted his fate that he now had to share class with Ariel the Little Mermaid and Flounder combined into one person.
"You bet!" Jungwoo triumphantly put his hands on his hips and stood with a Mr. Clean posture in the middle of the hall. Yuta just shook his head and led the boy to class.
"Okay class you seem to have your Differential Equations rules memorized. Lets see how well you all can handle a game of Multiple Choice!"
Some of the kids grumbled while some smiled. Yuta just got up and got his marker and mini blackboard without a word.
Multiple choice was a game that Mrs. Park invented. She writes a problem on the board along with several solutions. Each student has to solve them and write the answer on their individual black board. Mrs. Park keeps track of who answers what and whoever gets the most correct wins the game. You never actually win anything from these games so Yuta never saw the point but as long as he wasn't snoozing away in some boring lecture he hardly had a reason to complain.
"Alright, first one, thirty seconds, go!"
Mrs. Park quickly wrote down the four options. Once she finished the last one she switched on her timer. Yuta was pretty good at math so he knew the answer to this one right away. He scribbled down some halfhearted notes to 'show his work' then he leaned back in his seat and threw his head back.
"Answer's D everyone!" He yelled. His friends from behind him snickered a bit and Yuta noticed a few of the kids in the class who looked confused write D on their boards with a slightly hopeful expression.
Stupid fucks.
The time ran out so everyone held up their boards, and yes at least a quarter of the class had answered D.
"And the answer was B! That means Jungwoo, Yuta, Haechan, and Doyoung will all be receiving a point! The rest of you should really take care to get better answers." Mrs. Park turned around and scribbled down the scores. Jungwoo looked at Yuta with a slightly confused look.
"Why did you say the answer was D? You wrote B and you knew that was the correct answer."
"Well my young pupil." Yuta leaned towards Jungwoo and put his hand on his shoulder. "When one has the correct answer, they must shout out the wrong one to confuse anyone who is susceptible and to better their chances of winning. It's just plain old science."
Jungwoo looked at Yuta confused. "Science? But this is math class."
"Oh my fucking god." Yuta whispered below his breath. "Just try it bro." He said a bit louder.
"Try what?" Jungwoo cocked his head to the side and looked at Yuta curiously.
"When she announces the next problems try to purposely shout the wrong answer."
Jungwoo looked a little scared by that suggestion.
"Oh come on buddy. I know you're not as innocent as you let on." Mr. Park began writing the problems on the board and Yuta gestured for Jungwoo to continue. Jungwoo shot him a worried look before he turned back to the board.
Once Mrs. Park finished writing the answers, Jungwoo took a few moments for other kids to try and figure them out.
"Um.....answers 13 every g-guy!" Jungwoo shouted and immediately cringed when people looked over to him. Yuta glanced at the board and sure enough, 13 wasn't even an option.
Mrs. Park raised her eyebrows at Jungwoo questioningly. Jungwoo looked to Yuta for help but Yuta was covering his eyes with his hand in annoyance. At least that's how he looked on the outside. Underneath that hand, he was smirking a bit because although Yuta hated to admit it, watching Jungwoo fail at his math teacher's stupid game made him smile. Just the slightest bit.
