Memories

Manga Spoilers: This oneshot includes the man who created Nomu, so if you don't know who created the Nomu, then I don't recommend this to you!

Also, Ujiko is going to be a little different from the way that he usually is in the manga. He's going to be more caring and now sees Shigaraki as a worthy successor to All for One.

When dark purple portals suddenly appeared in the dimly lit base of the League of Villains, you knew that Shigaraki and the crew must've finished up the mission they had set off for a few hours prior. You had pleaded with Shigaraki to let you go at the time, but he refused, much to your dismay. The male said that the mission would be too dangerous for you, and you were still bitter about it.

You got up to your feet, about to complain to Shigaraki when Dabi and Spinner abruptly rushed out of the warps, startling you. They appeared to be carrying someone - someone with pale light-blue hair.

Wait, that was Shigaraki!

"What happened?!"

You demanded after realizing who it was, immediately hurrying over next to Dabi, who had set Shigaraki down on the sofa you had been sitting on a few moments ago. When Dabi and Spinner just ignored you, you frowned, a ball of frustration beginning to build up in your throat.

Why wouldn't anyone tell you? You deserved to know since you were Shigaraki's partner. It must be really bad if he had to be carried in by his subordinates...

You decided to peer over the scarred male's shoulder to see the damage for yourself, and when you did, your eyes widened.

Shigaraki looked bad. Like, really bad.

Half of his face was covered in slick dark blood that shown slightly even under the weak fluorescent lights of the base. His crimson eyes were shut tight, but you had a feeling that he was unconscious since his mouth was relaxed. It seemed that he had a deep gash on the side of his face too, and you felt your heart pounding nervously against your ribcage at the scene.

Would he be okay?

"Y/N, come on over here."

You heard the familiar, smooth voice of Mr. Compress behind you, his dark, gloved hand moving to rest on your shoulder. You swallowed hard and slowly turned around, allowing your body to be swept into Mr. Compress's warm, comforting arms.

"Y/N, we had a few complications with the mission, as you can see, with Shigaraki's condition. We don't have a healer in the group, and Kurogiri is currently trying to find one, but I'm not sure if he'll be able to since we're wanted villains."

You tensed up at the tone of voice the masked male was using, and you quickly pried yourself away from Compress.

"What are you hinting at?!"

You cried out, tears starting to fill your eyes, the liquid blurring your vision, and you heard the performer sigh. He attempted to bring you back into his hold, but you backed away.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N, I really, truly am."

"No, NO! I won't allow him to die!"

You screamed, drawing the attention of Toga, who was standing next to Dabi, watching the procedure go on. Sensing your distress, she unwillingly pulled herself away from the blood, and skipped over to you, reaching up to sling an arm around your trembling shoulders.

"Y/N! It'll be fine! Dabi says he can try to do something! Besides, your man looks pretty handsome all beat up~ That's something to be happy about, right?"

Toga's eyes glazed over as she thought about Shigaraki's unconscious, bleeding body, and you tried to smile, knowing that this was just her way of trying to comfort you.

"T-Thanks, I guess. I just... I've never seen him this badly injured, and it just freaks me out..."

You admitted quietly, looking down at the ground, and you felt Toga rest her head on you. Her voice was slightly shaking as she said, and you could see her feeling for her knives in the corner of your vision.

"Don't worry! If Shigaraki dies, then we can go stabby stab the guy who did this to him!"
"Yeah, I - I suppose so..."

You said softly, though you hated the thought of Shigaraki dying. The two of you haven't even had your six month anniversary, yet he was already tottering on the edge of death. You had thought that the two of you would be together for a long time - perhaps the two of you could even get married - but it seemed that fate didn't want that to happen.

The familiar noise of a warp appearing in the base alerted the two of you, and you let out a exhale of relief when you spotted a man with Kurogiri. The man was quite short, with a bushy mustache, and he was wearing a crisp, white lab coat. Goggles were positioned on his face, and from the way his eyes flashed under the thick glass, you knew that Shigaraki's situation must be very bad.

"Ujiko, it doesn't look good. Tomura Shigaraki's breath was slowing last time I saw him."

Kurogiri's deep voice was laced with heavy concern, and the man - Ujiko - from what the warp man had called him, immediately strode over to Shigaraki.

"Stand back."

Ujiko said, and at that, Dabi and Spinner quickly backed off. You ran over to the crowd, and asked nervously to the man,

"Um, excuse me sir, but will Tomura be alright?"

"...I'm not sure yet. I assume that you are someone dear to him?"

You gripped a hand to your chest and nodded. Toga had caught up to you, the female looking curiously at Shigaraki's body.

"Hm, okay. Now please, if you'd give me some room. I have to treat this childish man..."

You obliged, though a little hesitantly.

Was this man going to help Tomura? He seemed a bit shady to you, but if Kurogiri trusts him, then perhaps it'll be okay.

A few hours passed, and by then, you had been herded to your room by Mr. Compress, who seemed concerned for your well being.

When you woke up, you felt arms around your arm, and you realized it was Toga, who was curled up next to you like a cat. Her arms were linked with yours, and you smiled softly to yourself. Toga really knew how to make you feel less lonely.

You then remembered Shigaraki's state and quickly sat up, startling Toga. The female's eyes popped open, and she sat up as well, rubbing at her golden eyes.

"We need to go see Shigaraki!"

You said, and upon hearing that, Toga seemed to become wide awake.

"Yeah, let's go!"

The blonde cheered, grabbing your arm. She dragged you along with her, and as the two of you walked out of the room, you spotted Dabi, who was leaning against the doorframe of your room.

"Hey. Thought you might've wanted to see the boss when you woke up, so I decided to wait here."

The flame-user said quietly, completely ignoring Toga, making the girl squawk defiantly. An unreadable expression was on Dabi's face, and that made you feel uneasy, but you merely just pushed away the bad thoughts invading your mind.

"Thanks, Dabi. How's Tomura doing?"

The male just kept silent as he started to walk, and you bit your lip, following after him. Toga walked with you, arm flush against yours. She was humming a tune under her breath, and you wished that you could be as carefree as her.

When the three of you approached Shigaraki's room, you were surprised to hear Dabi speak again.

"...Y/N. I'm really sorry. I-"

You didn't bother to hear the last part as you burst into the room. You saw Kurogiri sitting in the corner of the room, frustration plastered all over his face. The rest of the League didn't appear to be in the room upon further inspection.

Your eyes then rested on your boyfriend, who was sitting up in bed, his eyes blank. Ujiko was sitting next to the bed on a stool, the male conversing with the pale-haired male.

"Tomura! You're okay, thank god-"

You said tearfully, rushing to the side of his bed. Shigaraki looked at you as if you were a stranger, his eyes narrowed in distrust. Your boyfriend spat out,

"Who the hell are you?"

You felt your heart drop.

"W-What?!"

You spluttered, and then you heard Ujiko say, his voice sympathetic.

"Y/N... According to Kurogiri, Shigaraki hit his head during the mission, and it appears that the last thing he remembers is invading the USJ. His memories after that have been lost."

That's right... You had joined the League after the USJ attack, the bold move inspiring you immensely when you saw the news on television.

You then smiled bitterly to yourself, your body collapsing onto a nearby chair. You felt hollow and empty. You could vaguely feel Toga hugging you from behind, her attempts at comforting you nothing but a faint whisper.

Why was the world punishing you like this? Did fate just want to split the two of you apart?

If Shigaraki didn't remember you, then what was the point of life?
