"Just a minute mum." I shouted back leaning out the door. I spun back around to find the man was gone without a trace. Selena had a quick thought that maybe she was hallucinating, but quickly shrugged the incident off, she grabbed her guitar and books before darting out the door heading to her weekly lesson.  

A week after Selena thought she had seen the man and gotten her letter that was a prank. The sun was starting to set by the time she decided she should head home from the park. The swings creaked eerily behind her sending a chill up her spine, Selena spun around to see a cloaked figure except it was... floating? It moved towards her its black cloak covered its body and face. She couldn't see who or what it was. The wind caught its hood and threw the hood back showing its face was scabby gray and it only had holes where its eyes and mouth should be. Selena let out a blood curdling scream before turning the other way and running. She tripped only a few meters away and scrambled to get up when she felt a hand pull her shoulder. A freezing feeling radiated from her shoulder making Selena feel like all the happiness was gone from the world. It turned her around to face it and made a sound like it was trying to suck more than air. 

She fell into darkness and her surroundings turned into a crowd of people circling her, pain shot through her stomach and shoulders. She realized she was being kicked from every direction with cheering for it to continue invading her head.

"Selena, wake up!" Selena was being shook rather roughly as her fathers alarmed voice woke her up. She opened her eyes slowly to see her parents looming over her with worried expressions.

"Yeah sure, why's it so cold in here?"Selena shivered under the mass of blankets on top of her, sitting up she saw that the fire place was lit and beside it was Albus Dumbledore. Selena immediately thought she was going mad due to the hallucinations of the man she had now seen twice. He stepped forwards which caught her parents attention, they turned towards him giving Selena some space.

"Will she be okay? What happened? Who are you?" Selena's mother grilled him with questions mercilessly going into protective mom mode.

"She will be just fine, I'm the headmaster of Hogwarts witchcraft and wizardry, Albus Dumbledore. Miss. DeBrax has received her letter of acceptance as I'm sure you're aware and we haven't gotten her owl back so I came to get it personally." He said seriously as if what he just said actually made sense. Selena watched as her mother's expression went from concerned to horrified in an instant.

"She didn't get any letters and she's not a witch!" she protested loudly Selena shot her a look before speaking up.

"Yeah I did get letters but I thought it was a prank, so I'm actually all witchy?" Selena asked them looking around in disbelief.

"Yes, you are and at Hogwarts we teach you how to control and use your magic ability." Dumbledore offered an answer that only further annoyed her mother. "You will need to get you your supplies and a ticket as the train leaves tomorrow." He moved towards the door as we followed. "you will have to pack of course but you will only need the essentials."

"But of course." Selena replied sarcastically. "So where do I get all this stuff."

"Behind the leaky cauldron in London you can get your wand but the rest will be in an already rented room there. Then you'll find the train to Hogwarts on platform nine and three quarters." He finished opening the door. "Oh and eat this it will help" as a last thought he gave Selena a piece of chocolate before leaving. She felt giddy as she hopped up the steps and dashed into her room, eating the chocolate and packing. It took her all of 10 minutes to pack her trunk. The barn owl seemed to pick up on the fact that she was leaving since he started pecking on the window to be let out. She let him out before dragging her trunk down the stairs letting it hit each step with a thud. She left it at the door before running to find her parents.

"Mum, dad when are we going?" Selena shouted at no where in particular. She found her way to her fathers office where he and her mother were arguing over something. "So can we go now." Selena butted in stopping their argument quickly, they both looked over at her.

"Actually we aren't sure this is a good idea..."  Rupert started in a way that made it obvious Josephine didn't think it was a good idea but he could be convinced otherwise.

"Yeah it's a great idea, if I'm a witch I want to learn how to use magic!" Selena said heatedly staring at her mother pointedly. "Come on it'll be fine and by your reaction you knew that this was a possibility."

"She's got a point, and I know you've got to work so I'll take her, I can take the time off." he made an argument she couldn't refuse, she knew it as her discontent showed in her expression.

"Fine." she agreed before moving towards the door making sure to not look at Selena.

"Lets go Selena, best to go before she changes her mind." he headed towards the door picking up the trunk on the way. Selena hurried after him only to stop remembering something, she flew up into her room and grabbed her guitar and stuffed it into its heavily decorated case. The case snapped shut almost catching her fingers in her haste.  She pushed a green army cap on before running out the door after her father.
