There was a creature that wandered the earth for decades, roaming around in the wilderness as humanity continued to grow and prosper.
They respected the large giant, letting it pass through their cities to reach its destination.
Everyone told tales of this creature, a lonely female longing to go back to the people that she loved. To find them and finally be at rest.
She was a gentle giant who did not bat an eye to humanity as she wandered through deserts, oceans and forests.
This creature was a guardian of humanity, some speculating that she was once a human who had powers buried deep within her until it was unleashed.
They say that if you hear a roar tremble through the ground, the creature has finally laid to rest and join her beloved ones in the afterlife.

The creature roamed through the land, shaking the sandy floor as she suddenly halted to a stop. A loud hiss broke through the air as she roared. The giant mass of skin and muscle burst into smoke, disintegrating until all was left was a small figure of a woman.
She woke up and looked around, her mind very tired and empty. She didn't know where she was or who she was. All she knew was that she was cold and alone.
She grabbed a long piece of cloth that had been laying on the floor, whacking all the dust away and wrapping it around herself before walking again. She didn't know where she was going. She just let her feet take her wherever.
She wandered through a futuristic city, a city that awfully looked familiar to her. People gave her weird stares as she walked past them silently.
She walked through an alleyway, winding down dark paths until she came across a somewhat hidden and secret like building. She entered inside to see it was bustling with happy people eating and drinking something sweet and warm.
It looked like a tiny tea shop. The woman couldn't figure out why but it felt comfortable and familiar to her... like she recognised the shop or at least dreamed about it.
She went to the front register to find a cheerful young man who frowned upon seeing her appearance. "Oh, dear. Come with me and we'll fix you right up." The kind man dragged the brain dead woman through a door to the side and they entered a whole new building. It was furnished like the foyer of a hotel. "My name is Onyankopon, what's your name?" The woman didn't say anything. She didn't know anything.
Onyankopon frowned at the lack of response as he took her into a free hotel room and showed her all the facilities she could use. "I'll bring someone in to help with any injuries you might have. Stay here." The woman just simply looked around, unsure of everything around her until the door opened again and girl entered.
Her hair was brown and tied up in a ponytail, soothing brown eyes looking over the woman in worry behind her glasses. "Please sit." The woman did just as the glassed woman asked. "My name is Hanji. Do you mind removing the cloth please." the woman simply does as she was asked without a second thought, the cloth pooling around her waist.
Hanji gasps, not from the multiple scars around her body but from the ripple of lightening like birthmark on her left shoulder blade. She recognised the birthmark as the sign of the giant guardian. "You must have travelled for far too long, haven't you?" Hanji softly says, helping the dead woman bathe and dress up in warm clothes. Her mind had not come back and Hanji lets her stay in the room.
The woman casually looks around in her oversized sweater and track pants that Hanji had lent her, staring at the front door and getting up. She walked out, leaving the door wide open. She walked down corridors, her feet padding across the floor as she came across the foyer again.
There was a strange door, curiosity filling the woman as she walked inside to discover a hallway like museum. Standing in the middle of the hallway was a statue, a statue of a female titan that was stuck in an endless roar. There was fury in her red eyes but gentleness in her posture as if she was protecting people.
'The Guardian Titan who gave her life to us till the very end. Shinzo wo Sasageyo!'
She stared at the titans face that looked awfully familiar, her head slightly pounding and she turned away to look at the portraits, paintings and documents. The life story of the battle between humans and titans.
The headache surged as she walked past the portraits, images flashing in her mind like vivid memories and she quickly runs out of the museum.
She quickly walked past various people signing in and signing out until she came across an empty boardroom like area. There was a young brown-haired girl sitting there on her phone as she squealed.
The woman walked up to the young girl and peers over her shoulder to see that she was reading some sort of book with drawings. The woman stares at one scene in particular, suddenly getting a feeling of familiarity and sadness as she saw the main character say "I love you" to a man.
As the girl went to the next panel, the woman gasped and stumbled back seeing the familiar face of the main male character. Memories flashed through her as she finally remembered who she was and she starts sobbing.
The girl turns around in surprise to see you crying and asks if you were ok as she closed her book. "Wait. You look exactly like the main girl in my book!"
"That's because that is me. That's my story." The girl widens her eyes and stares at the book cover that had 'Gabi' scrawled over it. She glanced at the ring on the cover before glancing down at your hand to see the exact same one of a kind promise ring.
The girl quickly runs off and you cry, wondering how many years it's been since you last saw your loved ones. If they passed away peacefully and lived a happy life. You felt like you were all alone.
"(Y/n)?" you turn around, the name ringing in your head and you look up to find someone you never thought you would see again. "You're as beautiful as the day I lost you..."
"You-I-how." you sob and Levi walks over to you, holding your shaking body in his gently as he hugged you.
"I've missed you." you cry out, holding onto him as he cries softly into your shoulder.
"How are you still alive?"
"I'm not." you look at him confused until he explains. He is not your original love but reincarnated, waiting for you to return.
Levi first started getting visions and memory like dreams recently and didn't know who the woman in his dreams was that made his heartbreak over and over so he did some research.
He came across old journals in his attic that was passed down to him from generation to generation. They were journals written by you and of his original ancestor Levi Ackerman. Both journals explained two sides of their life story separately but came together in the end to describe the love they felt for each other until Levi Ackerman finished off your journal after you passed away. The journals were filled with photographs and he finally remembered who you were after decades.
Levi had missed you so much and didn't know if you had come back yet so he published both journals into books as a way to contact you. They got famous but as time went by, he didn't think he would see you again.
He looks down at your hand that held the promise ring, old and rusted over the years but the exact same one he had given you the first Christmas you both spent together. "You're finally here in my arms. I'm never letting you go again."
"You said to come back to you and I did, didn't I?" You smiled gently and Levi holds your face, sniffling.
"You always did keep your promises somehow." he chuckles kissing your forehead. "Come, there are some people I want to introduce to you." He drags you out of the boardroom to another open area strictly for employees only. "I'm guessing you missed your family." Levi says and opens the door to reveal everyone you had to say goodbye to.
All living and breathing in front of you.
"Hey Captain! Who's the chick? Is she your girlfriend?" Jean calls out and Levi reminds him to not call him Captain anymore.
"She's beautiful!" Sasha squeals, sputtering potato bits everywhere.
"Don't talk while you're eating!" Mikasa and Annie yell at her as Armin just snickers. Reiner, Bertholdt, Marco, Erwin and every other soldier you had loved came back.
"Levi! We're running out of lavender tea in the tea shop!" You jump as Eren busts through the door, panting in his apron and you see the name of the store Levi had dreamed of opening.
'Ackerman's Tea Shop'
"As fate would have it, we all came back as friends despite it being almost decades." Levi grins as he sees you cry softly in happiness.
"You reincarnated together. I'm so lucky I get to see you again." He takes you away before saying goodbye to the others and leads you out to a balcony where the sun was setting.
"(Y/n), I don't want to lose you again. I don't want to say goodbye again." Levi kneeled down holding your hand and you looked at him in surprise. "So please, can you live your life with me just as we promised years ago?"
"Of course I will." He stood up and smiled brightly, wiping away your tears as you finally came to rest as being the guardian and living your life with the man you loved as he kissed you.
