I walked around, helping the soldiers as best as I could without transforming. There were debris and destruction everywhere, the road littered with injured bodies as I overlooked them from the building the scouts were trapped in with the Yaegerists. I look up, hearing Floch yell out at the volunteers and I've had enough of him.
"The dream of restoring your homelands, the main reason that you volunteers came to this island have been shattered!" I walk up the stairs and I see Jean standing like a statue behind Floch.
"Jean, Floch." They look up at me, life filling Jean's eyes as he smiled at me and life sucked away in fear in Flochs eyes. I stare down at him, his hand buckling as he held the gun to the head of a volunteer.
"That's the Guardian Titan!" I hear someone murmur out and it spreads between the volunteers from the Yaegerists.
"Great that you could join us (y/n)," I walk closer to Floch, looking down at the volunteer that was crying and I frown. "maybe now these volunteers can show us respect-" Everyone gasps as I grab Flochs by the neck, eyes blazing red. He chokes in surprise and tried to shoot me but I grab the gun and melt it.
"Who are you to decide to end a person's life?" I hiss out and the Yaegerists aim their guns at me. "Who are you to decide that the lives of innocent people outside if Marley and Paradis deserve to die?"
"(Y/n), what are you doing!?" Jean hesitates, unsure whether to stop me or stay still and I stare at him.
"Who are you to decide that the people who don't even know of your existence are deemed enemies. They are innocent people who don't know you!"
"When they learn about our titans then they will hate us and rage war-"
"-no they won't!" Hiss out as Floch scratches my arm.
"They have no reason to rage war if you do not bother them of your existence." Everyone frowns and my mind flashes to my family. "You know that I was brought here from another dimension and with that you must know there is a version of my family that might exist here. I will not let you hurt them." I walk towards the edge, holding Floch out as he dangled up high.
"(Y/n) don't do this!" Jean yells out.
"I will not let you hurt my family or the people who simply live to provide for their children! I will not let you hurt the innocent that have no idea that you exist and simply live their own lives! You have no right!" I shriek out, electric burn marks littering Floch's neck. "You have absolutely no right to hurt them and neither does Eren!"
"He is our saviour!" Floch gasps out. "He will protect us from the world!"
"And yet the world doesn't give a shit about you!" I scream, lightning streaks crawling up my arms. "The only war here is between you and Marley and it should just be between you two, not the world! Even so, this mass genocide is not the way for peace! The more you kill, the more enemies you make and the more people that die! Who do you think will be left to make peace with!? No one!" The Yaegerists lower their guns and Floch tries to command them to shoot me.
"If I need to stop Eren to make sure he doesn't hurt my family and the innocents outside Marley, then so be it. I will stop him at all costs, even if it means killing him!" I growl, the floor beneath me burning up.
"You talk shit about not killing people and here you are doing the opposite!" Floch growls out and I laugh.
"Eren is supposed to die in my universe and that is his fate here. I'm not a hypocrite, I'm just moving story along." I release two fingers and Floch screams at me. "And as for you..." I grin at him and I hear gunshots ring out as I release another finger from around his neck. People gasp as I look down, plucking out a melted bullet lodge from my skin before chucking it away. "You are useless in this story, a side character that so many people hate." I chuckle and Floch looks at me with fear. "This is for the readers out there." He screams as I drop him, his body falling to the floor and I turn away.
"(Y/n)..." Jean stutters out, flinching when he hears the thud.
"For the rest of you, I suggest you reevaluate the purpose of your lives and actually help each other. You all are still human to the core no matter the bloodline." I stumble as I suddenly feel cold, the burning heat disappearing and I walk back downstairs.
I wondered the dark and empty hallways, my numb feet padding against the tiled floor of the building that stood in shambles and as a camp hideout. It was quiet, the silence almost deafening as it wrapped around the night air.
I padded across the hallway with no destination, a numbness washing over me as as I followed the whispers.
"Find me (y/n)..."
"Set me free..."
I blindly stumbled towards the voice a constant tug on my throat leading me towards the front doors of the building until I was outside.
"Follow the titans..."
I look up and see the wall titans further away but still visible from their massive height, their rhythmic marching luring me towards them.
"Transform."
There was a faint red glow around me, my nightgown whipping behind me from the sudden wind.
"Transform!"
I blindly follow the command, raising my arm as it glowed red to the broken shard of blade in my other hand.
"Do it-"
I freeze, suddenly hearing soft sniffles and cries next to me. I look over to see a window and I peer into it to see someone crying.
"Jean?" I stumble back, seeing my reflection in the window and I pant in fear as my body goes back to normal. I hear dripping and look down to see that I was gripping on the blade until it had cut through my skin. I throw it away, calming my nerves and I look around anxiously wondering if someone had seen me.
Why is Jean crying?
I silently back inside the building and turn to the infirmary/makeshift bunk area to see Jean sitting upon his bed. I don't call out to him in case I wake up the others, just silently sitting down on the bed next to him. He stiffens from my presence and I lean over to hug him, pulling his head to my shoulder as he cried silently.
"What do I do?" I hold him tighter, frowning at the trauma he was experiencing at the moment and I lean my chin on his head. He held onto me for a feeling of security for a while until I see Hanji peek her head by the window, waving furiously for us to come outside.
"Guys, it's me Hanji. I'll be waiting outside." Jean leans back to wipe his tears and I help him up before quietly heading outside to meet with Hanji and Mikasa as they led us to an empty room. I was flitting in and out of focus, hearing bits of information as Hanji explained to the cadets about what was happening and the plan to stop Eren from committing mass slaughter.
"I'll do it." I hear Mikasa say without hesitation. Jean goes on a spiel about what is going to happen to the Island if Eren gets taken care of and I notice Hanji's eyes flit over to mine as she frowned.
"I can feel that... my comrades are watching...." Hanji started blaming herself for everything that has happened so far but she was still the 14th commander of the Survey Corps, and just as her predecessors, dedicate her whole life to freeing this island. "The time to stop this slaughter... It's no or never. I'm still... a member of the Survey Corps." Jean and Mikasa stand in silence, listening to the plan before leaving and I follow them until my hand gets grabbed. "(y/n)." I turn around as Hanji frowns at me and I blink at her. "Your hand is bleeding."
"Oh." I look down at my hand that still dripped blood.
"Let me clean that up for you." I let Hanji drag me away to a table and sets me down before grabbing some medical tools. She sits down and cleans up my hand carefully. "Are you avoiding Levi?" I freeze, my focus suddenly becoming clearer and I blink down at my injured hand.
Why does it hurt now?
I hiss lightly as she cleaned the wound. "Are you ok?" Hanji asks as he wrapped up my hand and I look at her. "I saw you... following the titans. You were about to transform again." Hanji purses her lips and lets me go.
"I don't know how much longer I can hold her off Hanji." I mumble out.
She sighs and hugs me. "You need to tell Levi. He's been worried sick."
"You know I can't." Hanji pulls back and holds me by my shoulders, sighing in defeat.
"Fine but come to me at least if something changes." I nod and we get up to head back to bed. Hanji leads me back to my room. "Levi is waiting for you in there. Please just be with him." She walks off and I look at my door before hesitantly opening it. I see Levi laying on the bed, his eyes slowing opening as soon as he heard the door open.
"(Y/n)?" He sits up and I walk over, hugging him tightly. "It's ok. I'm here." He mumbles out as I shook in his arms and he brings us down to lay in bed.
"I'm sorry."
"You have nothing to be sorry for." Levi kisses my forehead and hugs me tight, my eyes drooping as I fall asleep.
I'm sorry.
