1 year.

1 goddamn year since I have been shipped off to Marley as soon as Eren left Paradis so I could keep an eye on him as an undercover spy.

1 year since I've seen Levi but today, I would finally see him again for our battle in Liberio.

It's been... quiet the past year, being all alone. I was shipped off once I told Hanji what would happen next and Erens plan since he had been acting off. Levi wasn't happy with the next course of action taken. He didn't want me to be here by myself watching out for the brat. I lay in my bed, watching the window as my mind wanders back to that day, curling into a ball as my heart ached for Levi.

"What!?" Levi narrows his eyes at Hanji at the sudden command and he slowly gets furious.

"She needs to go to Marley to keep an on Eren-"

"-no! I'm not letting you ship her off like some goddamn fucking convict!" Levi hissed out as he slammed his hands on Hanji's desk and I frown, standing beside him. Hanji just looked at us with a hard look, her face devoid of the once playful and cheerful Hanji we once knew.

"Levi, I understand that you are worried-"

"-of course I'm worried!" Levi yells out, grabbing Hanji's shirt in his fist. "(Y/n) is not safe there without backup! She's staying here-"

"-(y/n) going to Marley to keep an eye on Eren is important-"

"-bullshit! Send someone else! We have more than enough soldiers since they have all been saved by (y/n)!" Levi lets Hanji go and paces in front of her desk. "(y/n) still needs to be trained!" Levi growls out and I gently place a hand on his shoulder. He freezes up and stands straight, leaning over to place a hand over mine.

"Levi, everyone needs to be here to train for our war. This is bigger than both of us." I mumble quietly and Levi turns around to face me with pain in his eyes.

"I'm not losing you. You still haven't told me about what happened last time..." Levi drifts off and I know what he meant.

"Levi, Eren's moral is changing. The more he consumes the other titans, the more he is blinding himself." Hanji purses her lips as I continue. "We need to get him back and the enemy can't know of my existence here. We can't let them have information about me. If this is my duty, then I am going-"

"-no." Levi glares at me, holding me by the shoulders as he drags me outside and back to his bedroom. "I won't-"

"-you won't lose me." I cut off Levi and he frowns, closing his eyes and leaning his forehead on mine.

"You can't leave me." Levi mumbles out, his voice sounding heavy and I wrap my arms around him. "1 year is too long! Anything could happen to you-" I cut Levi off by placing a tender kiss on his forehead and he shakes in my arms.

He holds me tight to his chest and I sigh out. "I'll be ok Levi. Remember, I know everything." I lean back and tap my nose and he rolls his eyes playfully.

I chuckle and lean back, breaking free from the hug as I walk to Levi's bedroom to pack. "Where are you going?" I squeal as I get pulled back into his arms.

"I have to pack. Hanji planned for me to cross the sea tomorrow night." Levi frowns and picks me up bridal style. " Levi!" I shriek as we both drop onto the couch with him still holding me.

"Can we just... Just stay like this until then..." Levi mumbles out into my hair as I lay on his chest. I smile warmly at how soft he only acted towards me when we were alone.

"I would love that." I snuggle into Levi as he sighs out, holding me tight and I turn to look at the conch shell on the coffee table that we got from the beach a long while back.

I remember the promise I made him the night I had to board the ship. Levi passed the shell to me and I promised him that when I see him again, I would hand it back to him. A promise that gave us both hope that we WILL see each other again.

"I miss you Levi." I mutter out, holding the conch shell tightly to my chest as I huddled under the blanket while closing my eyes.

My drapes on the window rustle against a random cold draft. "I missed you too brat." I quickly shoot my eyes open, my heart hammering in my chest as I slowly turn around.

I couldn't believe my eyes, after 1 year of missing everyone back home, I couldn't help but feel a rush of relief. "Levi..." I stutter out, my eyes glazing over with tears as I see him close the window behind him. "Is that you?" I slowly get out of bed, the silver rays from the moon lighting up a bit of his face and I gasp recognising his steel eyes and onyx hair.

"Yes, it's me. Who else would it be?" I chuckle dryly, wiping my tears away as Levi smiles at me softly. "Come here. It's been too fucking long since I've seen your face." I run towards Levi and jump on him, crying into his shoulder as he held me tightly.

"Levi... fuck I've missed you so much." I lean back and hold Levi's face in my hands, relishing in his warmth as I could actually hold him again. Levi sighs out and leans against my palms, resting his forehead on mine. "Fuck, why am I crying so much." I let out a scoff but Levi just smirks at me, moving my hair from my face.

"Cause you really like me." Levi leans down and I blush darkly.

"I see you haven't lost your charm." I shake my head.

"Since when did I ever lose my charm? Never." Levi just smiles at me, his eyes racing over my face. "You've changed..." Levi sighs out, cupping my cheek softly. "Your hair got longer again." I look down to see him playing with my hair that reached the middle of my back. I was never bothered to cut it since I had to keep a low profile.

"I was waiting for you to come back so you could cut it again." I grin cheekily up at Levi as he scoffs lightly.

"Is that the only reason you were waiting for me?" Levi smirks at me, a glint in his eyes and I blink at him. He gently moves us backwards and I bump into the bed, gasping as I fall over and Levi towers over me.

"N-no." I blush red, Levi's face leaning down closer to mine.

"Oh really?" I gulp as Levi blows against my ear gently and my mind goes into haywire.

Since when did he get cocky!?

Where is the shy romantic!?

Levi chuckles and kisses my cheek gently, leaning back up to caress my face before leaning down to kiss me. I sigh out in bliss against his lips as I hold his shoulders. I shudder as Levi trails the back of his hand against my face, leaning down to wrap his fingers in my hair. Levi kisses me deeply, grunting as he pulls my body closer to his and gently biting down on my bottom lip. I whimper softly, opening my lips for Levi to quickly slither his tongue past my lips. He easily won dominance over me, his hands sliding down my sides and up my thighs to wrap around his waist.

My heart was going crazy and my head was spinning from how fast we were moving. This was only our fourth time or so being intimate and Levi seemed desperate since the last time I saw him.

"Levi-" I gasp out for air before he captured my lips again, growling lowly as he pulled my hair back gently.

"You have no idea... How much... I've missed you." Levi grunted between kisses and I pant for air when he finally leans back for me to rest. I look up at him in his new black scout suit, my cheeks blazing red at how sexy he looked.

I lean up and brush my fingers against the crinkles around his eyes. "I can see. You've been worrying a lot." I mutter out, my breathing finally settling. Levi had a tired look in his eyes, eyes that had seen war over and over but was ready to see more if needed.

"And you have too. You're getting white hairs earlier than me." Levi chuckles and I gasp out, smacking his hands away from my hair. "I'm joking." Levi sits back, straddling my hips as I lean up on my elbows. "You've gotten more beautiful this past year." my breath hitches at the sincere warmth in his words, smiling at me gently. I blush and turn my head realising I was just wearing a thin nightgown, my eyes landing on the conch shell.

"Oh!" I lean over and Levi gets off me to sit next to me on the bed as I grab the shell. "Here. Just as I promised." I beam at Levi and pass it to him as he just chuckles.

"I don't need that. I have you right here in front of me." Levi gently keeps the shell in my hands, brushing my hair from my face.

"Since when did you get so cheesy?" I lean back down on the bed and Levi lays down next to me, pulling my back against his chest.

"Hanji kept quizzing me on boyfriend things they would say the week we were getting ready to come to Marley..." Levi sighs out, holding me tight as he nuzzles his nose against my neck.

"How is she? And everyone else?" I yawn out as Levi curls into me, wrapping an arm around my stomach to hold my hand that held the shell while the other moved beneath my head to entwine his fingers with mine.

"Tense." I nod, knowing that everyone would be on edge. "How long can you stay?" I mumble out, eyes dropping from the first ever good night's sleep I would be getting that wasn't filled with Ymir's voice in my head.

"Just until the sun comes up. I have to go meet the others. You know the plan?" Levi sighs out and I nod.

"Got the letter from Hanji a few days back."

"I don't like the idea of you right in the middle of the battle..." Levi squeezes me at the thought and I pat his hand resting against my stomach.

"You guys need all the help you can get. I'm not backing down." Levi sighs out, knowing he couldn't convince me. "Let's just get some rest ok." I feel Levi nod against my neck and I turn around in his arm to watch him sleep as long as I could before dosing off.
