(y/n) - your name

I shake my head as Hanji squeals and runs off, setting the cup of wine down on a table.

"You don't drink?" Levi sips his drink as we both walk down to the ballroom.

"Don't like the taste of alcohol but I will get the chance to try and get blackout drunk. I want to experience that." Levi raises a brow at me like I'm crazy and I probably am.

"So in other words, you're a lightweight."

"Actually, I'm surprisingly born with a high tolerance, well, not as high as yours." Levi simple nods and I lean against the wall, naturally becoming a wallflower. "I might get something from the buffet table. You want anything?" Levi shakes his head, already looking tired of everything and I walk off.

"(y/n)!" Not even before crossing halfway through the ballroom, I get bombarded with civilians that wanted to talk to me like I had a big ass sign over my head saying 'You Can Talk To Me!'. They were getting in my face and asking questions about me being the Guardian Titan and I didn't know how to tell them to back off without being rude.

"Excuse me Miss (y/n) but I need to have a word with you."

"Omg it's Captain Levi!"

"He's so much hotter in person."

"I know right! I wonder if he has a girlfriend." I raise a brow at the hormonal girls giggling as Levi stands next to me. He looks more regal with a stoic look on his face and he raises an arm for me to grab which I do quickly. He manages to pull me away from the evasive group of civilians and I finally let out a breath of relief as my heart calms down.

"You weren't joking when you said you get shy at social events."

"Of course I do. You literally had to save me from those civilians." Levi swipes another glass of wine and I narrow my brows as he takes a swig. "You really are downing those things quickly huh."

"The only way I can tolerate all these snobby rich pansies." I bite my lip, holding back my laugh. Levi and I spend the next few hours being wallflowers but enjoying the presence of each other. Hanji had suspiciously been coming over every now and then to hand Levi a glass of wine but he takes it like he doesn't suspect a thing.

I think Hanji is up to something...

I look over at the dance floor, seeing Jean, Connie and Sasha acting look absolute fools but they were having fun. Eren and Mikasa decided to join in as the live orchestra decided to play a slow mellow song. I grin, seeing Mikasa and Eren fumble around as they tried to dance together, Moblit trying to control a drunk Hanji as she spins him around in her arms, Connie and Sasha acting like fools together, Jean trying to impress girls while Historia and Armin sat together while chatting happily.

Everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves and I had to be honest, I kinda felt left out. I look over and see Levi down two more glasses of wine before turning to me.

"Do you want to dance?" Levi asks and I blink at him in surprise before looking at the dance floor.

"I don't actually know how to dance Levi." I mutter out, knowing that I looked stupid if I tried. Levi stands in front me, holding out a hand to me. He seemed calmer and outwardly soft as he smiled at me gently.

"Come on." Levi nods towards the dance floor, grabbing my hand and pulling me closer. I gape at him as his cheeks turn pink, slowly pulling me towards the dance floor. I try to move away but I gasp when Levi holds my hand tightly and pulls me to his chest.

He leads me to the middle of the dance floor and I get paranoid thinking people were watching me. "Levi I can't-"

"-just look at me. Block out everyone else around you and just focus on me." I gulp and look up at Levi as he moves one of my hands to his shoulder and the other entwined with his. I shudder as I feel his other hand on my bare back, leading me to a slow side by side waltz. I look down, making sure to not step on his foot but I stumble a bit.

"Sorry!"

"Just relax." I nod and let myself feel the music, that sorrowful melody making me sigh out and rest my head on Levi's chest. Tears brim my eyes as Levi surprisingly pulls me closer, hugging me with his arms around my waist as I held his shirt.

Why do I feel so sad all of a sudden?

"It's ok." Levi mumbles out and runs a hand through my hair gently as we continued swaying side by side.

I don't belong here but... I'll let myself enjoy this before I move on.

I sigh out, leaning up and wrapping my hands around Levi's neck and rests his chin on top of my head.

Lights will guide you home.

And ignite your bones.

And I will try to fix you.

I smile, feeling warm in Levi's arms. "You're not a bad dancer after all." I hear Levi chuckle out and I roll my eyes.

"I guess I needed someone to teach me..." I mumble softly, smiling at how at home everyone looked and how happy they were. I don't want this to ever stop for them. "Hey, Levi."

"Yes?"

"Thanks for being there for me."

And for making me feel loved.

The last low song slowly comes to an end as couples soon break off to head home together as Historia thanks everyone for coming to the ball. I give her a great big hug, shocking everyone before heading towards our carriages that were waiting for most of the scouts that were too drunk to head to headquarters by themselves. Especially Hanji. She passed out in Moblits arms. I sigh out, sitting down in my seat with Levi next to me and the other 104th cadets squished in.

They all chatted happily and I felt a twinge of homesickness hit me. "Uh (y/n)." I turn to look at Levi and I'm shocked to see him yawn and look all sleepy like. His hair was slightly messed up like he had been running his fingers through it, his cheeks a more vibrate pink against his skin.

"Whoa Levi, you good?" I ask and he nods almost drunkenly while looking for something in his clothes making them messy.

This is totally different from the clean and pristine Levi I know!

Levi pulls out some sort of gift from his pocket, neatly wrapped up carefully and hands it to me. "Open it." Levi nudges my hand and I slowly unwrap it, careful to not cause any damage. By the time I unfold the wrapping, the carriage had arrived to the headquarters and everyone jumped out of the carriage leaving me and Levi alone.

I smile sadly at the familiar faces drawn intricately into the paper behind the photofram glass, finally having a clear image of what they looked like then using my head. "How did you get someone to draw a picture of my family?"

"Your phone. You're an idiot for leaving it behind and letting me use it." I look over the image, carefully brushing a finger against my mum's face and my little sister.

"Thank you Levi. This means a lot to me." I smile at Levi, chuckling as he struggled to stay awake. "Let's get you to bed."

"I can handle myself." Levi stumbles out of the carriage himself and I quickly follow him. He quickly finds his room easily, stumbling into his bedroom but I still get worried for him as he silently sits down on the edge of his bed.

"Levi? Are you ok?" He had his head bowed, sighing out while taking his coat off.

"Will everything really be ok in the future?"

I mean, I haven't watched the final season for Attack on Titan so I screwed myself over with that decision.

I furrow my brows, wondering where all this was coming from suddenly as Levi runs a hand down his face, looking exhausted. "This world continues to bring us down to our knees. It's hard to believe that we will survive for long." I sit next to Levi, letting him go on with his rant that he needed to let out. "What if everything we've been through is for nothing? What was the point of all this death and suffering?" I frown, knowing that Levi was having one of those late-night sentiments I normally had plus being slightly tipsy on alcohol.

"Everything will be ok Levi." I mumble out and Levi looks up at me with wide eyes, his eyes gleamed over with unshed tears. I smile gently, cupping his cheek and brushing my finger against it softly "I won't leave your side until you're happy." Levi leans into my hand, sighing out.

"Everyone expects me to be humanity's strongest but... it's not easy. I can't watch people die in front of me anymore. I don't want any more people to leave me..."

"I'm not going anywhere." I pull Levi into a big hug, holding him tightly.

"You make me feel so safe (y/n). You already understand what I'm going through and yet... you haven't left me... You let me be weak in front of you and you still stay..."

"You don't always have to be humanity's strongest. Especially with me. You can just be Levi to me." I lean back and wipe away some strays tears before leading Levi to lay down. I get up to put his coat away but he grabs my hand. "I'm not going anywhere." I promise him and fold his coat carefully before coming back to drape the blanket over him.

"Stay." Levi hums out, his eyes fluttering closed as he held my hand. I lay under the blankets with him, holding his hand tightly as he finally went to sleep and I sigh sadly.

That Guardian titan power slowly eats away at her human form until the day where she permanently turns into the Guardian titan to wander the earth for a millennium.

I shake my head from Reiss's voice, focusing on making sure Levi was ok and free from nightmares.

I'm sorry Levi.
