I sigh out blissfully as I fed (h/n) some wheat while Historia went around chasing the kids around. I smile softly, seeing them all laugh out in joy beneath the bright blue sky and warm sun. (h/n) nudges my back and I pet his muzzle gently, him huffing against my hair. It's been around 2 months so to say since Historia was crowned queen and delivered a project of running an orphanage for kids from the underground and those from the outer walls that were attacked by titans. That was her first order of business and obviously Levi agreed to help with the idea since he was from the underground. As soon as the orphanage was up and running, I agreed to help run it with Historia and some of the cadets that came by when they were free. Erwin had asked me to stay at the orphanage, for the time being, build my strength back up until there was another mission.

"Miss (y/n)! I turn around and see one of the smaller children with a gapped toothy smile squeal over to me and jump in my arms.

"Hi little one." I pinched the little girl's nose and spun her around in my arm. "What brings you here? Are you on a mission?"

"Yes! I came to bring your prince! He was looking for you!" I look over and blush seeing Levi chuckle softly as he stood in front of me.

"Oh did you. Well, that was very kind of you." I set the girl down on her feet and I sneak out a piece of candy for her. "Here's your prize of being a good girl. Don't tell the others ok. It's our little secret." the girl thanks me, jumping on my neck to hug me before zooming off.

"Bribing little brats huh?" Levi asks as I straighten my back.

"How else are you going to get them in line. They hardly listen to anyone."

"You can always discipline them." I narrow my eyes at Levi and he just shrugs.

"What brings you here Levi."

"Wanted to see how you're holding up. I see the bags are still there." Levi refers to the dark circles under my eyes and I glare at him. "Are you healing properly though? You still don't look good." Levi mutters out and I tighten the shawl around my shoulders.

I was healing slowly, my body was scrawny looking, almost like a skeleton but the months where I haven't transformed is allowing me to heal. Thank god too cause it looked like I was slowly disintegrating.

"I'm fine. It's taking a while but I'm getting there. How are you and everything else back with Erwin and stuff."

"Slow. Eren managed to control his hardening ability and we created a new weapon."

"Ah yes, that wooden guillotine something or other."

"Of course you would know."

"I know everything." I grin at Levi, pointing to my nose and (n/h) huffs out, wacking his tail at Levi's face.

"And you're still an annoying shit."

"It's cause he misses Midnight. Poor thing is lonely without his lover." I suddenly hear a neigh and look over to see Midnight running over to (h/n), both of them whining in happiness. "Huh, I guess he's not lonely anymore. Any leads with Eren and the basement?" Levi shakes his head as he takes a walk and I follow him.

"So far no. He's trying to remember things from his memory."

"And you want me to come back don't you." Levi stops and turns around to face me.

"Yeah. I know you're meant to be here resting but we need you. Only you know where to guide us next." I sigh out as (n/h) trots back to me, nudging my back.

"Ok I'll come back but Historia needs to find someone to look after the kids." I look over the field, smiling as the kids all mucked around.

"You care about the brats too."

"I didn't have a great childhood. Well, it wasn't as bad as yours. You went through some fucked up shit." I quickly cover up and Levi just rolls his eyes. "I want to give these kids a better childhood than I or you did. You get what I mean?" Levi nods, whistling for Midnight to come over.

"Have you been practising riding (h/n)?" Levi looks over at me and I freeze.

"...no...?" Levi sighs and I swear he would've facepalmed.

"What have you been doing this entire time?"

"Slacking off and sleeping in the sun." I quickly respond and Levi sighs out.

"I should've known. Get on your horse. We'll go back to Erwin and this way, you get some practice in."

"Now!? What about the kids!?"

"I got some mothers to come by and look after the children." Levi nods to the entrance and sure enough, there were some women playing with the kids.

"Well, you're efficient." (h/n) bends down, almost as if he knew we were going for a run.

"Let's see if you can get on without my help." I hear Levi behind me and I know he's smirking but I grin when I throw my right leg over and get on (h/n). "Hmm. Not bad." (h/n) turns around and I face Levi as he clicks for Midnight to run.

"Show them what you got (h/n)." I squeal out as he bolts off in a run, zooming past Midnight easily. I cheer out loud from the speed as we ran down the road in between the fields as the wind whipped my hair around. It felt so exhilarating and exciting as I threw my hands up. "Shit my shawl!" I shriek out when the wind picks up the fabric and it flies away. I turn around and quickly burst out laughing, seeing the fabric smack Levi in the face as he was behind me. He peels my shawl off and holds it, glaring down at it. "Last one back at the HQ is a rotten egg!"

My body wracks in multiple sneezes as I jump down from (h/n) back, my head feeling like it's going to rip off every time I sneezed. "Shit I'm cold."

"You should've worn a jacket dumbass." I glare at Levi as he wraps the shawl around my shoulders tightly after putting our horses to rest in a barn. He takes his cloak off and keeps it on my shoulder and I look up at him in surprise.

"(y/n)!? My baby!? Is that you!?" I look over to see cadets standing by the doorway including Hanji. She runs up to me and glomps me in a hug and I struggle to hold her weight as we stumble back on the floor.

"Fuck Hanji! You could've given me a warning you know!" I wheeze out as she holds me tightly and Levi pries her off from my body.

"Give her space shitty glasses."

"Why!? I've missed her! You haven't missed your wife Levi!?" Levi glares at the cackling scientist as Jean helps me back up, ruffling my hair.

"Great to have you back."

"Nice to see you haven't turned into a horse yet." I joke and Jean groans out, throwing his arms up and walking away for the others to come hug me.

"I smell food!" Sasha screeches and I take out a piece of candy from my pocket.

"Only one. The rest are for the kids." Sasha nods and hugs me tightly after taking the candy.

"How are you (y/n)?" Armin asks and I smile at him.

"I've been ok. Still healing but ok." Mikasa gently holds my hand, frowning at how boney they were.

"Are you eating properly?"

"I am Mikasa. Don't go motherly on me, that's my job. Now Eren, come here." I hug him and Eren chuckles, leaning down to hug me. "I'm guessing you're still stuck on how to proceed with the Shinganshina mission?"

"Yeah, my memories are fuzzy."

"Well, here's a tip. Sadies knew your father so let's go talk to him."

"He what!?" Eren gasps out and I nod.

"He's here right? Or back at the training grounds?" I ask Levi.

"He's here. Erwin called for him for a meeting."

"Great! That makes things easier so let's go." I follow Levi as he leads us up to the building in front of us, winding up a few steps when Erwin walked out of a room. He looked surprised to see me but beamed.

"(y/n), it's great to see you."

"Missed you too eyebrows. How you been?" I let Levi and the others walk into the room as I talk to Erwin.

"Not too bad. How are you holding up at the orphanage? It's not too much trouble is it?"

"Not really. I mean the kids are little shits but they have their lovable moments." Erwin chuckles.

"It's great to have you back but make sure to keep resting." Erwin asks and I nod.

"Back at you Erwin. Don't do anything crazy." Erwin laughs as he walks down the stairs, saying goodbye to me.

He really acts like a brother.

I turn around and quietly enter the room to see Sadies turn his head to me. "Ah, the infamous (y/n). The girl from another universe. Levi was just telling me about you." I nod and Levi pulls out a chair for me to sit down next to him.

"Yep, that's me. And you're about to tell us a story about how you met Grisha and stuff right." Sadies nods and continues telling his story as Hanji played with my hair.
