"I'm surprised he's listening to you." I squeal in fright when Levi burst from the bushes next to me, slowing to a walk with me. "He doesn't actually let anyone get on his back at all. I'm the only one that can rein him in if he goes out of control."
"I guess he likes me? I hope? Or he's just using me as an excuse for a run."
"Probably the latter." I whip my head and glare playfully at Levi.
"So what now? Are we just going for a joy ride?"
"Somewhat. You need to get used to the height and speeds. For now, take it easy." I nod and men and Levi trot side by side through the small forest. I watched in awe at the bright colours of blue and green, the trees bending over us as if to protect us in an archway. There were a few flowers blooming in the trees and I brush my hand through the flora as (h/n) walked past it. I pick a flower, smiling softly at the beautiful pink plant as I felt it's soft petals.
"It's so beautiful here." I grin, absolutely mesmerised and I reach both my hands up as if to touch the blue sky.
"What, do you not get these where you're from?" Levi looks at me in confusion, slight curiosity in his eyes about my world.
"I live in the city. So I don't see forests or fields like this at all."
"The city?"
"The city is an area filled with really tall buildings, skyscrapers we call them, since they look like they are touching the sky. Well in my opinion anyway." I chuckle as Levi hums out. "Anyway, so with buildings at every possible direction you look, there's hardly any areas like this. No forests or fields unless you leave the city and go out to another country or to the rural areas."
"Rural areas? Different countries? You mean we aren't the only ones here?" I quickly shut my lips, covering it with my mouth.
How did Levi pick up that info from what I said!?
"I'm not supposed to tell you this but I will give you one word. Yes." I look over at Levi to see his eyes widen just a fraction. He nods and pets Midnight.
"I think we had enough of a walk. Let's see how you handle yourself in a race."
"Levi no. Shit no. I don't do well with speeds!" I start to panic, my body ready to jump off (h/n).
"Too bad. You need to get used to it. (h/n), ready for a run?" I gasp as (h/n) stands up on his hind legs, letting out a happy whine.
"Levi! No!"
"Just trust your horse. He will keep you safe. Go!" Levi yells out and I scream as both horses bolt off in a run again. I shriek and curl myself as small as I could, gripping the reins painfully tight. The wind smacked my face as my clothes whipped behind me, both horses speeding through the forest easily. I shriek when (h/n) leaps over fallen rocks and tree trunks, gasping from the impact as his hooves land back on the ground.
"Levi!?" I scream out for the humanities strongest when I don't see him anyway and I figure he must be way ahead of me.
"Just keep your eyes forward. Don't focus too much on the speed." I hear Levi next to me and I look over to see Midnight keeping up with (h/n) as if he was faster. I try to calm my erratic heartbeat, narrowly dodging a branch that could've severed my head off from my neck.
"I'm going to die!"
"You won't die idiot!" I gasp out as we burst through bushes and jump out into an open gigantic field. It was like we jump through portals to another mystical place. The sky was an endless sea of blue as we ran through tall green grass that swayed gently with the wind. There was an odd sweet smell, little purple flowers blooming here and there and I gasp out in absolute awe. There were petals flying around with the wind like little purple swirls, surrounding me and flowing through my hair.
I reach out my hand, mesmerised and I play with the petals. "And I thought the forest was amazing..." I mutter out, finally feeling the adrenalin kick in my system. "(h/n)! Let's go! HYA!" I yell out and (h/n) neighs in excitement. I scream out with thrill, throwing my hands up and falling back on (h/n) to watch the sky fly past above me.
"Oi brat! Sit back up before you fall off." Levi calls out to me, bringing in a whirlwind of petals behind him from the speed and I laugh out, grabbing the petals that fly around me. (H/n) zooms through the forest from the end of the large field and I gasp out when we stop at a crystal pool with a rushing waterfall. I was panting from the adrenaline, my eyes wide as the area as the sun shone down on the crystals raining different coloured lights on the grass that held flowers of every kind. They looked like crystal flowers from the refracted light.
I look around to see the area was closed off, a veil of vines covering the only entrance as Levi trots in with Midnight. "Did you know this place existed!?"
Levi shakes his head, hopping off Midnight. "You didn't? Though you might have." Levi mutters out, standing beside (h/n) as he lowers down for me to jump off. I throw both my legs over on one side, jumping but I stumble into Levi's arms as he steadies me.
"Thanks." I cough out slightly, leaning back as Levi walks off. "This place is almost magical..." I sigh out, my inner childhood screaming at me as I walked towards the pool. I bend down, looking at the crystal clear waters and I see Levis reflection pop up next to me.
"You have petals in your hair brat." Levi tch's and I look at him as he kneels in front of me, pulling the petals out. He sits crossed-legged as I thank him and we both sit in silence. I lay down, my hands behind my head as I looked up at the sky.
"We should show the others about this place." Levi hums in response and I close my eyes, sighing out. We stay in comfortable silence for a bit until I sit back up, just enjoying the scenery around me. "I'm so lucky to see a place like this." I turn to see Levi already staring at me and I blink at him in surprise.
Was he staring at me this entire time?
"Tell me more about your world." My eyes widen at the commanding sentence.
"O-oh."
I guess Levi would be curious about where I come from...
"Uh, I guess there's not much I can tell you. Like I said, I stay home most of the time." I start explaining to Levi about my world and where I live as well as what's going on right now with COVID and everything. He looked really interested at the fact that there were no titans, but humanity was still susceptible to other dangers like this virus that easily killed as many people as titans would.
"What about you?" I freeze, looking at Levi in confusion.
"What about me?"
"Tch, you really are an idiotic brat. I mean what do you do if you weren't here."
"Uh, well I'm actually studying right now in university. It's a type of education system we go through to get a paper that proves that we are capable enough to get a job."
"That sounds stupid."
"Yeah, but what can we do." I shrug. "In my free time, I guess you can say I'm a bear." I chuckle as Levi looks at me in confusion. "I love to sleep but I love to binge shows. There's no in-between. I'm also extremely lazy."
"That I know." Levi huffs out and I roll my eyes as I smile at him.
"Besides studying, I work. Obviously. Need to earn money or I'm doomed in the future you know. But there's no point now anyway. I'm not sure if I'm going back. I'm not sure if I can..." I mutter out, reminded of my situation that loomed over at me. I frown, laying my head in my hands. "I can't do anything to go back can I? My life back home is just gone. And what about my family? Are they ok?" I mutter out, gloom filling my heart and I had the urge to hide in my bedroom.
I quickly get up as Levi scrambles up on his feet with a frown on his face. "(y/n)-"
"-don't apologise. You didn't do anything wrong. As I said, there's nothing I can do about this situation..." I sigh out, climbing on a rock and jumping on to (h/n) to ride off back to our hideout.
