Memorable (Clay x Iris)
PART THREE- A Clay x Iris (OC) Oneshot
Iris' POV
Five minutes later, I was sitting at a small, outdoor table for two, sipping a medium-sized latte. Clay was right, the food (well, drink) was good here. I glanced around occasionally at the other customers, wondering if any of them knew the boy I had forgotten.
But then Clay himself walked into the room, and all my attention turned to him. A memory rose out of the depths of my mind, but, frustratingly, before I could grasp at it, it was gone.
He was tall-ish, with spiky brown hair and was slightly muscular. He wasn't body-builder build, but you could tell he was strong and worked out regularly. His eyes were a deep blue, deeper and than the sky or the ocean. They reminded me of blueberries.
He spotted me right away, and smiled. That smile... it made me feel safe and warm and... like I had seen it before. Clay looked familiar, but vaguely so. It was funny, because you wouldn't forget him in a hurry if you saw him.
"Hi," he said as he slid into the seat across from me. I could pick up tiny traces of eagerness in his voice, like he was trying to keep his tone under control.
"Hi," I replied, controlling my tone as well. I couldn't let him hear my voice shake with nervousness and excitement. "So you're Clay, huh? You look memorable enough. I don't know why I would forget you..."
Clay's POV
"Really?" I laughed a little. "Well, I guess that's what we're going to find out."
When first I entered the café, I had no trouble picking out Iris. She looked as memorable as ever. I was so excited to see her, but I tried not to let it show. I wanted to hug her so hard, but I didn't. I was a stranger to her now- she didn't remember me.
But hopefully that will change soon.
My heart decided to pick up its pace as I sat down across from Iris. And it was going even faster as I tried to figure out exactly what she meant when she said I "looked memorable enough".
Did she mean I looked ....handsome? Or did she mean my look was so weird that-
"So," Iris interrupted my thoughts as she leaned forward, closer to me, and making my heart beat overtime. "Any ideas on how to get my memories back?"
Well, that was straight to the point. I didn't even get to ask her how she's been all this time.
"Um... do you know the approximate time when you started losing your memories?"
"Uh... I think it was... a few months ago. Not long after my graduation. Maybe a day after that? I just.... woke up one morning and felt that something was missing."
"Ok, that's a start. Why don't we head over to the school now? Its a school holiday, so there'll be no one around. Maybe you'll see something that looks familiar- something that could trigger other memories."
Iris' POV
"Sounds like a plan," I stood up, and Clay followed suit. He waited for me outside whilst I paid the bill.
When I left, I closed the door, and turned to him. "You know, I didn't get a chance to thank you fully. It means a lot that you're willing to help me. It won't be easy, finding out why I can't remember things... So, thank you. Though, if you're doing this just because you feel sorry for me.... "
"Hey," he smiled at me. "I'm a knight. It's my duty to help those in need, especially my friends. Why wouldn't I help?" his arm kind of reached out to me, but then it dropped back to his side. "I know full well that you can do this by yourself, Iris. You're smart, and tough. You could figure it out. But you asked me because I'm your friend, and you thought I might know some things- things that could be useful. Right?"
I nodded. He was absolutely right.
"If I remember anything useful, I'll definitely let you know. Anything to get your memories back.
"I'll do my very best to help you, Iris. I promise."
A/n: Sorry for the long wait, everyone! Its been such a busy week at school... But the holidays are coming up, which means I'll be able to update more! So that's good.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Sorry if it's kind of rambling and/or doesn't make sense.... let me know if there's anything I need to change!
