Interior Designing (Rova)
PART FOUR- A Rova Oneshot
Robin's POV
I gulped and slowly pulled my wallet out of my pocket. I took as long I could to unzip it and peer inside. I'm pretty sure I started sweating.
It wasn't just the fact that I would look uncool in front of Ava (though that was something I cared about), it was the fact that I would get in trouble with the restaurant. I couldn't very well return the food- that would be gross, and no one would accept it.
I couldn't keep it a secret. I guess I would just have to tell them....and see what'll happen.
I gulped again. "Um....uh...." I smiled nervously at the waiter. "Well....you see...."
"Here you go."
The waiter and I whipped our heads around to see Ava dropping some cash onto the bill. "Oh, and have a tip." She tossed a 50-pence piece onto the table.
As the waiter scooped the money up and scuttled off, I put my wallet away and told Ava, "...Thanks."
"No problem," she replied as I followed her outside. "You paid for the taxi, so I decided to cover the food. I guessed you didn't have enough to pay anyway."
"Well, yeah..." I mumbled. "I didn't think we'd have to take a taxi... Aaaanyway, there's somewhere else I wanted to take you..."
Ava's POV
Robin took my hand. I gasped in surprise and looked up at him. He was smiling slightly.
"Come on," he said softly, and he started leading me down the street.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
He checked his watch. "You'll see."
We walked on for a bit. Robin did not let go of my hand, and I had no intention of doing so.
After about 10 minutes, we were about to pass a dollar shop.
"Hmm..." Robin looked at it for a second, then said, "Wait here."
He stepped inside. I stared after him, wondering what he was up to.
CRASH!
"Aaahh! Help!"
I jumped. That was Robin's voice!
I thrust the shop door open. Dust, bricks and knocked-over shelves cluttered the floor. Plastic toys, notebooks and assorted kitchenware were sprinkled all over the rubble, like Hundreds and Thousands on a cupcake. A shivering shopkeeper was huddled in one corner, her hands over her eyes.
"Ava!"
I raised my head to see my crush struggling against the grip of Burnzie, one of the big buffoons that pulled Jestro's Evil Mobile.
"What do you want with Robin?" I shouted up at him.
"Jestro's attacking this outlet of shops so he can scare the shopkeepers into giving him stuff for free. Its for his lair. We don't want him-" Burnzie shook the fist with Robin in it. "-thwarting our plans for interior designing by contacting the other Knights. Now if you excuse me, I've got some terrorising to do."
And with that said, Burnzie turned and stepped through the hole in the wall he'd made when he entered.
