10 - A bed
"He does have a point," John pointed out as he sat down in his chair.
"How so?" Sherlock asked and looked out the window as Macy sat down in his chair.
"We do need to find a place you can stay more permanently," John noted to Macy, who was looking at a piece of torn up paper.
"Fantasia?" she asked and turned her head gently to the side.
"Huh?" John asked and grabbed the sheet music with the title ripped off.
"Telemann, yes," Sherlock agreed and turned around to look at the girl; "John is right though, Penrose, you'll need a place to sleep. I suppose we should get a bed for you, as well," he mumbled to himself, followed by; "Where does one purchase such a thing?"
"I could talk to Mary, maybe I could stay with her for a bit, then you could take my room," John suggested; "At least until we figure something else out."
Mary?
Macy looked at John before searching her mind for information about a Mary.
Mary, Mary, Mary. Mary who?
Macy's mind ran with her. How had he said her name? Where'd his eyes been? Posture?
She didn't know.
Think, Macy, THINK.
Macy
What?
Macy!
Wait, was someone saying her name?
Macy, can you hear me?
"What?"
Macy's eyelids shut open, only to see both her father and her fathers best friend staring at her.
"Interesting," Sherlock mumbled to himself before standing up straight.
"Macy, are you okay?" John gently placed a hand on her arm in a, what she assumed, was an act of concern.
"Yes, my apologies, I believe I got lost in my thoughts," she admitted.
"What did you conclude?" Sherlock asked while staring intensely at the girl who day by day reminded him more and more like himself.
"What do you mean, Sherlock?" John asked confused and looked between the two people looking intensely between one another.
"Girlfriend," Macy stated, making Sherlock smile.
"What else?" She looked at John, who still seemed confused, before looking back to her father.
"Nothing else," she lied, ignoring everything else she'd figured out about John's girlfriend.
"Fascinating," he uttered as he stared at her.
"What is?" John asked his friend, frantically searching Macy's face, trying to see what Sherlock saw.
"Well, I noticed it before, of course I did, but I'm surprised even you can't see it now," he said, offending as always, and as some of the time, not even on purpose.
"Sherlock, what is it?"
"Nothing," Macy interrupted the conversation; "You know what you always say to me?" She turned to her father with an angry look.
"I believe you mean 'the', the most common word in the English language," Sherlock replied calmly.
"You don't know? Well, that's just fine, because it'll give me a chance to say it," she said as she stood up; "Stop deducing me!"
"Penrose, I-"
"No, Sherlock! Stay the hell away from my head." With those words she left the flat, slamming the door behind her.
