An old friend
I watched as she spun around and I shook my head.
"No. Eurus is dead. She died on the fire." I said softly.
"Oh, but I'm not dead. I am surprised that you and Sherlock are still friends. I'd think he would stop being friends with someone so.... weak." She said softly.
"I am not weak." I said sternly.
"But you are. Your weak and useless. I told Sherlock that, but I guess he didn't care. He felt to sorry for you so he kept you."
"Still the same I see. Always so cruel. Your worse than Mycroft." I said angrily.
"Mycroft? That's right your working for him. You will always be second best to him. No matter what you do he will do it better.... I mean he is already better at hiding his emotions." She said with a smile.
"What are you talking about?"
"Don't you see.... your in love with him. You, Sherlock's best friend is in love with his brother.... the boy you swore you hated." She said with a laugh.
"I don't love him. I hate him." I said calmly.
"Your not a good lier. We both know how you feel about him.... you told me."
"What are you talking about?" I asked confused.
"We where in fifth grade. Victor had just left the classroom. You where stuck looking out the window." She said with a smile.
"I remember that.... my mom was sick. I was worried about her." I said softly.
"I walked over to you and jokingly asked why you where staring at My..... remember what you said?.... no..... you said because I wish he cared for me like I care for him." She said softly.
"I don't love him." I said softly.
"You know.... you can say that, but whose shoulder did you cry on after your mother died?" She asked with a smirk.
I looked away and the head the door unlock. Mycroft walked in and I watched as he looked from me and Eurus.
"Your time is up. Isabelle let's go." Mycroft said as he put his hand on my shoulder and led me out of the room.
"You know I'm right Izzy! Your just to scared to admit it! Just like you didn't want to admit you missed your dad!" She yelled as we walked out of the room.
Mycroft shut the door and pulled out a handkerchief. He gently whipped my eyes and I realized I had been crying.
"I can do it myself!" I snapped as I grabbed it and whipped my eyes.
"I'm sorry.... I should have told you who you would be talking to." He said softly.
"Does your parents know?" I asked angrily.
"No..... non of them know."
"They have a right to know! You can't keep her from them."
"I can and I am. And you will not say anything to them." He ordered.
"Don't order me to lie to them.... I already lying to Sherlock.... please don't make me lie to your parents.... not after everything they did for me." I begged.
"If they knew it would destroy them..... it is better them forgetting about her." He said softly.
"Fine..... but if I lose your parents and Sherlock because of this I will never forgive you." I said softly.
He nodded his head and we left. A few weeks later I was allowed a break and I let out a sigh as I made it to Sherlock's. I laughed as Sherlock told me about another case he solved.
"What's wrong?" He asked all of a sudden.
"Why does something have to be wrong?" I asked confused.
"Your more stiff than usual. Your bitting your lip.... and avoiding eye contact. Also you are watching your phone." He said calmly.
"My new boss is a jerk.... he... called me a hooker and now he is making me do stupid things like get him coffee or get him files." I said softly.
"Sounds like a boring job." He said with a smile.
"It is. And the worse part is he decides if I get to advance." I said annoyed.
I leaned back on the couch and groaned as I heard a knock on the door. Soon Mycroft walked into the room and I rolled my eyes.
"What do you want?" I asked annoyed.
"Sherlock to investigate a case for me." Mycroft said calmly.
"You already know he is going to say no right?" I asked softly.
"Hopefully he will let our feud go and help." Mycroft said looking at Sherlock.
"Yea sure he will." I said with a laugh.
They started to argue and soon the door open and I looked to see John.
"I can't." Sherlock said calmly.
"Can't?" Mycroft asked confused.
"The stuff I've got on is just too big. I can't spare the time."
"Never mind your usual trivia. This is of national importance."
" How's the diet?"
"Fine. Perhaps you can get through to him, John."
"What?" John asked confused.
"I'm afraid my brother can be very intransigent and Isabelle isn't helping." Mycroft said calmly.
"If you're so keen why don't you investigate it?"
"No no no. I can't possibly be away from the office for any length of time. Not with the Korean elections so- Well, you don't need to know about that, do you. Besides, a case like this, it requires... legwork."
"How's Sarah, John? How was the lilo?" Sherlock asked.
"Sofa, Sherlock. It was the sofa." Mycroft said calmly.
"Oh yes, of course."
"How- Oh never mind." John said shaking his head.
"Yea don't ask. It is just the Holmes way." I said with a laugh.
"Andrew West. Known as Westie to his friends. Civil servant. Found dead on the tracks at Battersea Station this morning with his head smashed in." Mycroft explained.
"Jumped in front of a train?" Watson asked calmly.
"It seems the logical assumption." Mycroft said softly.
"But..."
"But?"
"Well you wouldn't be here if it was just an accident." I said before John could talk.
"The MOD is working on a new missile defense system. The Bruce-Partington Program, it's called. The plans for it were on a memory stick." Mycroft said sending me a glare.
"That wasn't very clever." John said calmly.
"It's not the only copy. But it is secret. And missing."
"Top secret?"
"Very. We think West must have taken the memory stick. We can't possibly risk it falling into the wrong hands. You've got to find those plans, Sherlock. Don't make me order you." Mycroft said calmly.
"I'd like to see you try." Sherlock said sending him a smirk.
"Think it over. Goodbye, John..... Isabelle. See you very soon." He said walking away.
"Hopefully not!" I yelled after him.
I groaned as my phone went off and I looked at it to see a message.
MH- limousine now.
IS- bit me.
"I got to go my boss needs me." I said with a groan.
"Don't get ran over." Sherlock said with a smirk.
"Don't run John off!" I yelled as I walked away.
I made it outside and rolled my eyes as Mycroft held the door open for me.
"Get in." He ordered.
"So much for a day off." I said as I slid into the limousine.
