Undertaker
ceils POV
so, I shall be going to the circus. damn this.
I stood from my chair and walked from behind my desk to the window and gazed out into my vast garden. the grass was very green today and the flowers, beautiful. as per usual of course, i simply would not have it any other way. as mush as it pains me to admit; Finnian has done a very decent job as a gardener so far.
anyway, the circus the queen wishes me to investigate will soon arrive in London. we must be prepared to aquire possible clues before this happens.
i walked away from the window with my hands clasped behind me. "Sebastian. prepare a carriage for London. we must leave as soon as my schedule will allow." i said to my butler who had been preparing me tea.
"yes, young master. i will also pack your luggage to stay at your city house for a few months."
"pfft. whatever." i said as i opened the door and left for my quarters. i am tired and so i shall rest for a minutes.
i was outside my door when i heard gentle, angelic humming. a rare feat for a demon to achieve. i recognised the tune, the commonality of this particular rhyme sent a shiver up my spine. i paced into my bedroom and saw (y/n) sat upon the slightly crinkled sheets of my bed stitching away at some old clothes that i recalled to have had a hole in the left arm area. from the night of Aunt An's death.
*** flashback ***
"You never should of been born in the first place!" growl/yelled Madame Red as she ran at me wielding a sharp knife. she had murder in those scarlet eyes. i was too shocked to move. she cut my left arm, spraying red blood everywhere and tearing the sleeve of my shirt and jacket. my shock and fear registered upon my pale face. i don't remember giving my emotions permission to show themselves so vividly. suddenly, my Aunt stumbled backwards and dropped the knife. "no, sister."
"Master!" shouted Sebastian as he sacrificed one of his arms to rush and save me. desperation was clear in his voice. somehow, i found myself stopping him.
"no! Sebastian! Don't kill her!"
"i loved my sister. i loved her husband, and i love their child. i cant kill him. i cant kill their beloved child." she turned to face the red haired reaper and shouted back at his face. "this child is mine!" and the next thing i knew, the death scythe had stabbed into her chest and Madame Red flew backwards, blood pouring from her wound and mouth. she hit the ground and a single tear rolled down her cheek and Aunt An was no more. i stood in shock and my butler stood panting and clutching his lost arm.
"to late now. such a disappointment you turned out to be Madame. what use do I have for you if your just another woman." growled the reaper; Grell Sutcliff. he then bent down and stole her red jacket, "you are not worthy of wearing the colour red. farewell, Madame."
"what are you waiting for. one still lives." i growled as i kneeled beside my Aunt's cold, dead body. and i removed my coat and spread it over her body after closing her lifeless eyes with one hand. all of those close to me had now left me. i am alone.
*** flashback end ***
bad times happen. and there is nothing you can do about it. the tune London Bridge was playing at the funeral and here also. i came back to the present and realised that (/n) had stopped huming and was now looking at me strangely. "Master?"
"hmmm? oh, (y/n). i mean, what are you doing in my room?" i stumbled on my words as i tried to hide my embarrassment at being caught during a zone-out infront of my maid.
"i-im sorry my young master. i-i just thought that i should mend these clothes as i have completed my daily chores. are you upset with me? please don't be. i have nearly finished." she panicked.
"whatever are you speaking about? i am not that scum Alois Trancy. you shouldnt worry. i have no intention of punishing you." I frowned.
"yes, master. I shall continue elsewhere." she smiled before hastily picking up the clothes and needle and hurrying away. strange. she was usually so snarky and smart around me. it is not like her in the slightest to act shy. my thoughts were interrupted by Sebastian speaking from behind me suddenly, "Young Master, your carriage and luggage are ready. we must depart now." he bowed and gestured for me to lead the way.
"Sebastian. I wish for your sister to join us on this case. she may prove valuable on this particular mission. is this understood?"
"Yes, my lord. I will fetch her now."
"oh, and have her change into something suitable for the city, I do not wish to be humiliated by ill dressed accomplices."
a smirk, "yes, my lord." and he left me in the luxurious carriage with the smell of horse and polish.
a few minutes later, the two demons returned and we all started the long and tedious journey to London. (y/n) sat inside the carriage opposite me. her hair was in a fishtail braid over her right shoulder and she wore a light pink, frilled dress and leather heeled boots. (pic above) she looked lovely. for a maid that is of course. anyway..
once we had arrived, we went straight to the Undertaker's Parlour. he said some rubbish that irritated me about how I needed Sebastian to do everything for me. so I decide that this time, I would be the one to make this reaper laugh for the required information!
your POV
Ciel had decided that he was the one to make this grey haired man laugh in order to prove him wrong or something. myself an Sebastian were required to wait outside. so we obediently left the Funeral Parlour. we waited.
and waited.
and waited.
and waited.
and waited.
"uh! how long does it take to get one. single. laugh. out of one. crazy. old. man! Even you have to agree that this is ridiculous!" I moaned angrily, pulling on my fringe in annoyance and boredom.
"please be patient. I'm confident that the master has everything under perfect control." he sighed back to me.
"its been 3. freakin'. hours, Sebastian! Ciel cant even get himself dressed without assistance! i'll just go in there and make the old man laugh! its not like your pathetic jokes could even make anyone smile!"
"oh, you'd be surprised." he muttered, smirking.
and so, we waited.
and waited.
and waited.
and waited.
and waited.
until, a feeble chuckle could be heard after approximately 9 hours and we entered the parlour once again to see Ciel with his tie undone, jacket ruffled, hair messed up and his shirt half unbuttoned. "whatever did you do to take so long in making the Undertaker laugh?" Sebastian asked, smiling as he redressed Ciel who replied with, "don't ask."
"but if your willing to put on a show for the queens sake, you truly are a dog." I smirked, arms crossed.
"shut up." he mumbled, turning away and blushing lightly.
i turned on my heel and walked out of the shop to wait for the others to follow. after a while, they did walk out. well, Ciel more stomped angrily then walked.
"so, master. what information did we get out of the old ma- Undertaker?" i asked as i helped him into the carriage before getting in, myself.
"absolutely nothing." he growled.
"so you did all of that for nothing?"
"exactly."
i couldn't help it, i smiled and chuckled a little.
"what are you laughing at?!"
"you." i replied, falling off the seat from laughter.
"This is an order, shut your face immediately!" he shouted, blushing.
"okay. okay. *sigh. snigger*" i sighed, sitting back on my seat, regaining my posture but still smiling.
ceils POV
