Frustrating Friends
your POV
I ran.
I ran far and fast, never ending streams of tears poured down my face and flew behind me. they came many, fast and loud. why would Ciel say that to me? that was rude on a whole new level, no, not even rude. I dare call the things he said despicable!
my long, (h/c) hair flew behind me, though tame in a plait which was spinning and dancing behind me, my amethyst eyes stung and had that red tint. after about 5 minutes of running, I stopped to find myself at a shimmering brook surrounded by tall, lush trees and soft grass. patches of golden sunlight could be seen through the jade leaves. this was the place Alois had taken me the day after he gave me the slight scar on my arm, and the day of Arowa's death. I wandered around, searching for the ring of bluebells we had sat in.
when I did find it eventually, I fell to my knees and I cupped my head in my smooth hands, fists stemming the flow of salty tears that poured from my scrunched up eyes. my black tail wrapped soothingly around my legs to rest itself on my lap. my midnight ears folded back, the way they did if I was angry or in despair. I suddenly felt warmth upon the back of my head and a low purr. not a cat; it was too low. the warmth left and something wet and something soft nuzzled under my chin, lifting my face.
I recognised the kindness in the large, fawn eyes and the gentle grey and white pattern in the fur. it was my Beta. but I sensed a caution about her, that it, until she saw my shimmering amethyst eyes and my wolf features. she made a few grumble and light yaps that I could not understand as a human. so I ripped off the maid cap, threw it somewhere into the trees and undid the plait that I was required at the Trancy Estate. I then turned into a night creature of midnight black and purple.
"are you ok?" Roxan asked, concerned but still cautious around me.
"you came. brought the pack." I replied, quietly, drooping my head.
"of course. it was an order from my Luna, I had to oblige. now, enough about the travels; why the teary face?" she purred, it was comforting. to see a familiar face I could trust I mean.
"well, Roxy. I don't really know. I guess, my.. my.. this, friend. he- that is to say they have recently said some very hurtful and hateful things. I thought h- they cared about me. but now. now I'm not so sure." I managed to convincingly fake a few details as I introduced the story of the last few hours.
or so I thought, "uh huh. this friend are they or should I say he. are you sure he is just a friend?" she winked at me. did she think? she sat and gently pawed her tail. oh holy hell she DID! (allow me to explain; Roxan was more of a big sister than a friend or assistant and she took it upon herself to regularly discus the whole no Alpha problem. by assuming that any male I looked at for so much as a second or spoke about was some sort of crush that I had, and sitting to paw her tail was the regular action that told me that she was about to get into one of those conversations.)
"Roxan! we are NOT ---" I started.
"Mmmhmmm. I believe you." she winked again. I swear, this girl.... I have no choice, I must reveal what I had never wanted to reveal to my old pack of all groups.
I gulped loudly before I spoke, "Roxan, I am abought to tell you information that is strictly confidential against the pack. what I tell you, you wll never repeat to any member of The Shadows."
"I'm listening.." she purred.
"i don't know how to say this, um. I-I'm a." I took a very deep breath, my eyes were both embarrassed and humiliated, "I'm a maid." Roxan collapsed to the floor, rolling in the dirt and literally howling hre laughter. "oi! its no laughing matter! should the pack find out that I'm a lowly maid I will never be taken seriously again!" she continued ton laugh. "hey! shut up!" I barked, blushing under my fur.
eventually, she did stop laughing and when she did, she panted out, "and what does all this have to do with the young lad that had you all teary?"
"C-Ciel P-Phantomhive I-is my M-master." I whimpered nervously.
"aint that the 12 year old Earl from the country just out of London?" she asked curiously, cocking her head to the side while still laying belly-up in the grass.
"13 now, actually." I grumbled protectively.
"my bad. so, he's just about a year younger than you eh?" she said, oh. so I tell her the truth and she teases me. but I was the one laughing in my head, my dear Roxan, you have no clue how much younger he his! instead of saying this though, I said, "Well, he's betrothed to his cousin, the daughter of the Marquess of Scotney, Lady Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Midford of Scotney. I must say, despite her annoying voice, outgoing personality and obsession with adorable and frills. she can be quite the bad*ss with a sword."
"ahh.. so you have some competition then." she nodded.
"FOR THE FINAL TIME AND HELL OF ALL HELLS! I DO NOT FANCY MY BOSS!" I growled angrily making a few birds fly from the trees.
"ohhhh, sure you dont. if you could prove it, I might maybe believe you even more than I do right now, (y/n)." she teased playfully, rolling to her feet.
"oh, is that a challenge?" I purred, crouching with my back up and wagging my tail above my head. I was warming up for a hunt.
"it might be.." she smirked, also prepping herself, positioned beside me.
"first to catch a deer?" I offered also smirking.
"your on."
"3"
"2"
"1" we said in unison before suddenly bolting through the forest. I didn't use my super speed though, instead, I pounced onto her, making sure she was knocked down before running again.
"so that's how we're gonna be playing then." she whispered. Roxan raced after me and kicked up a pile of dirt, causing me to trip.
"aaahhh!" I cried in shock. I heard Roxy giggle as she took the lead and turned to the right suddenly. I was wondering why just as I saw and smelt the doe that was less than a mile ahead. I leapt up and raced, I was just behind Roxy and the deer when we heard something that stopped Roxan in her tracks but only made me run faster. soon after she started chasing again. what did we hear you ask? that's a simple question, and this is the simple answer: "(y/n)?" i had heard Ciel shouting my name. what Roxan heard, however was completely different, it was the voice of an English boy shouting something frantically in some unknown language. I turned to see a small group consisting of Alois Trancy, Sebastian Michaelis, Claude Faustus and regrettably, Ciel Phantomhive.
"we have to call it off (y/n)! there are humans! we need to hide." she barked loudly as she ran after me.
"No," I panted, "you see the one with the patch? that's Ciel phantomhive."
"the one that upset you into running away and nearly killed you?" she asked.
"he didn't mean to put me in a healing coma! but yeah." I replied. as I continued to run.
"that's all I needed to hear." she growled low and darkly.
"wait, what?!" I shouted in surprise, but she had already skidded around and was racing towards Ciel. HOLY HELL SHE WAS GONNA BITE HIM!!!
I turned to race after her with my demon speed but I took too long to stop and turn. she always was the faster runner, she was already about a meter from him and I could just see the wild anger in her once so innocent and gentle eyes. she snapped at him and then Sebastian had hit her into a tree.
I turned human as I ran, but not to them, not the boys or the butlers. but to Roxan, who was trying to stand. I slid to her side and hugged her too me, "shh. shh. its ok." . I turned, still angry from earlier and glared at them. my hair swished as I turned back to Roxan and scanned her for injuries. she might not understand English but she understood a scolding. I harshly told her off before standing.
"come, Roxan." I said without emotion, gesturing her to follow me as I walked.
"Claude."
"Sebastian."
"bring her home."
"make her speak to me." I heard both children give their orders to those little pets of theirs.
I sensed my brother was behind me and about to speak, so I held up my hand, "Don't even try, Sebastian. I have no intention of speaking to Ciel at this particular moment and so I shan't. I don't care what you have to say, I can do what I wish." I kept walking, "and don't you so much as think about it, Faustus. as far as I care for you, you can just go and impale your-sorry-little-self with that fancy sword buried deep within Hannah's digestive system. I couldn't care less."
"it seems as if my sister does still infact, have a sliver of sense left after all." smiled Sebastian. I didn't speak, just kept walking with my best friend.
"unfortunately, I too have my orders, and they are absolute." I heard Claude say and Roxan barked aggressively as I was lifted into the air in a fireman-lift.
"OI! PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT FAUSTUS!!" I shouted, punching his back and kicking his stomach.
"I'm afraid not, my Lady."
"Alois!" I shouted. "Sebastian!"
"So sorry, sister. it seems that allowing Claude to follow his orders may be the best way for me to fulfil mine this once. but you shall of course be required to make your way into the carriage I have prepared as soon as we arrive. we are behind scheduale thanks to your little games and I shall never have the meal prepared in time for tonight if we do not leave at our earliest convenience."
"i hate you." I sulked.
"you love me." he replied.
"no I don't."
"you really do."
"i ---"
"that's enough of your childish squabbling." Ciel ordered, he sounded rather irritated.
"aww. I found it quite amusing." pouted Alois, while he was smiling.
"YOU don't get a say in this, Phantomhive." I growled. this made Alois smile.

love ya. xxx
