Chapter 29

Sophie was laying on her bed in complete confusion. She didn't know what to feel, if anything. She had no clue what to make of everything that had happened that night. From Alvar's words to Sophie and Keefe's intimate moment in the tool shed to the fact that Keefe wasn't even bothered when she threw an egg in his hair to the fact that the Vacker's hadn't even noticed all of their commotion as they egged and toilet-papered the Mansion.

She was confused about what she had felt in that shed. When Keefe had looked at her it was like her heartbeat sped up. She had become unable to move or speak. It was like her brain overheated when he had been mere centimeters from her face. Sophie had never felt anything like this, and so these newfound emotions scared her. She had no clue what they meant or what would happen between her and Keefe in the future. But, for the first time she was certain of one thing in her future: the fact that Keefe would be in it.

He had promised that she would experience a normal life. A normal life...

"A normal life," Sophie whispered just to try out the words. The words felt... nice. She didn't know anything about a normal life, but she liked the sound of it.

Suddenly, a ding came from her phone that was sitting on the side table next to her large canopy bed. She saw it was a text from Dex and immediately unlocked the phone. His text said:  Can I get a cheese pizza please?

So, she responded by saying: Yup, I'll deliver it.

Her and Keefe had finished Operation Vacker House Makeover—as Keefe liked to call it—an hour ago. Keefe had then gone to brave his house, mainly because of that brother-friend-person. Apparently, Keefe had just left his friend at his house—not great host manners, but whatever—and Keefe had to go back to tell him why he had been gone for a whole day. Sophie almost felt bad for Keefe because he was going to have to explain a lot to his friend. Their last day had been pretty hectic.

Now, Black Swan training was in an hour. She had just remembered that today she was finally going to get to know what everyone had talked about at the last big Black Swan meeting that was—supposedly—important. Sophie was really excited to finally get to know what they had all talked about last night. Dex made it seem like it was super important, but he always got too excited about these types of things, so she didn't know if that was true.

With all of her previous confusion gone, Sophie went over to her closet to get ready for training and a meeting. At least this part of her life was routine.

She pulled on the same fitted suit that she wore yesterday and pulled the same hoodie over it. She barely did anything in those clothes, so she figured they couldn't be too dirty. She also had to restock the knives before she could go to training, even though she had no recollection of taking them out of the suit. It was probably for the best, though, because they needed to be sharpened.

After she had put all of her newly-sharpened weapons in the many pockets of her suit, Sophie made her way out of her closet.

Just because of the nightmare that Sophie had gotten last night, she decided to jump out of her window to test how much force from the impact a flip—well, more like a roll, but the two were close enough—could take away. The jump went all the way down 3 stories. Her back scraped the wall multiple times, probably ruining her hoodie. Her impulsive actions were going to kill her someday.

She landed toes-first in a chair-like position to better absorb the impact, then she rolled right as her feet made contact with the ground to absorb even more of the impact.

Sophie whimpered a little bit as she heard one of her toes make a snapping sound, but other than that she was completely fine. She ran off into the night, not even bothering to tend to her toe. It wasn't the worst injury she'd experienced.

Also, does anyone have any good ways to get inspired to write because I tried to write a chapter this morning, but I can never find inspiration in the mornings even though I have so much free time during them?

Oh, and fun fact! That thing I wrote about Sophie's landing when she jumped out of her window is actually how you are supposed to land when you fall out of a building. Please don't ask me why I know this, it's a long story...

Please tell me if this chapter makes any sense...
