Chapter 1.

"Okay, Miss Autumn. Mind telling me how you felt about your mother's death?", my therapist asked while writing the information I gave him from the past questions. I paused. I never liked remembering the death of her. It made me feel uneasy and scared as I pictured holding my dying mother in her arms. "I-It was horrible...", I replied trembling. My therapists held my hand. "I know how it feels to lose someone close to you.", he said. I started to tear up. He handed me a tissue. I took it and wiped the tears that went down my cheek.

"How did this event occur? What happened before she died.", he asked moving his hand away from my hand.

I was hesitant at first. But, I thought about it. "Okay...", I replied, " It all started 19 years ago..."

/Flashback to 19 years ago at 2:00 a.m./

"Psst, Mommy ", I whispered trying to get to the top of my mom's bed. Haiku, my mom groaned and opened one of her eyes, " Yes, sweetheart?"

"Can I sleep with you?" I whispered.

"Why..?", she asked. "Another nightmare?"

"Mhm..."

She stretched her arms and pated her paws on the bed, "C'mon..." My tail wagged happily as I climbed up her bed and laid next to her. "Night, Autumn", she said.

"Night, mommy", I answered hugging her. Haiku wrapped her arms around her hugging her back as she goes back to sleep.

/In the morning/

I wake up to see mom gone. I get up and walked downstairs to see her cooking. I make my way to the table and sit down in my seat. "Morning, Mama", I said.

"Good morning", she replied.

"Where's papa?"

Haiku went silent for a few seconds. "He's still at work", she said.

"Oh, Okie!", I replied with a smiley face.

She handed me my breakfast, French toast with a cup of juice. I licked my lips and nommed on the delicious meal. After that, I went upstairs to get bathe and dressed for school. A few minutes later, I walked downstairs in my uniform. Haiku already made my lunch and put it in a lil pastel color baggy. "Have a good day at school, darling", she said kissing my cheek. I giggled, "Okay, mommy."

I take my lunch bag and wave my mom goodbye before leaving the door. She waved back with a smile. There I am, on my way to school.

/Flashbacks over/

"Did your mother lie to you about your father?", my therapist asked. I nodded.

"He was a liar and an alcoholic...", I replied, "When he found out about mom's death, he finally got his shit together. He stopped drinking and finally acted like a real dad and not the person that I was afraid of when I was seven. He's still alive."

"Okay. Thank you for coming here and sharing the information about you and your family. Have a nice day."

"You too.", I replied getting up grabbing my stuff and leaving the door.
