I

Blushing at the message She had received from her fiance, she walked towards the dining hall with a spring in her step.

Life has never looked more beautiful. A loving family, good job, caring fiance, She felt happy and content.

She looked forward to a future where she would get married, stay happy, give birth to a cute little girl and a boy, spend her life in the arms of a man who loves her to the point of infinity.

Laughing at her sisters who were fighting over the play station, she went towards the temple area and lighted the lamp.

Eyes bulging out, her posture stiff with the thrishul facing down on the monster, her chest pushed in front with rage, Maa Kaali looked beautiful, like a fire, with righteous anger in her eyes.

Praying to the deity to keep her family safe and happy, she went towards the kitchen to help her mother.

In her hurry, she failed to notice a lone tear escaping the deity's eyes.

After a few hours

The entire family, her grandmother, mother, sisters, together they sat in the living room, singing bajans and making garlands.

It was the night of Amavasya. The night when dark forces gain more power to bring in destruction.

There was no moon, neither the stars.

Thick dark clouds draped the beautiful blue sky from witnessing the horrendous crime that was about to take place.

The elders and kids were having their dinner when there was a knock on their door.

Wind started blowing heavily, plugging the power off. The lamps that were lit in the temple died.

She eagerly opened the door, thinking it to be her elder sister who was supposed to return from work.

Instead, her nightmare stood in front of her with his minions, smirking at her.

Not giving her a chance to shout, he closed her mouth immediately and pushed her inside.

There were about 10 men, all rogues.

Under their boss's instructions, they immediately took the elders hostage and closed all the exits.

Frightened, the remaining women crowded near the kitchen.

What happened next, was the worst nightmare that no girl should face in her life.

Ripping her soul, her clothes, her dignity, the boss who was a monster in real, put her as a public display for his minions and satisfied his primal animalistic hunger.

She could not move.

After what felt like hours, they threw her in the open space, which ironically was the temple.

She crawled towards the black statue, leaving blood marks all over the place. With angry tears streaming down her face, she leaned on the idol's legs and took hold of the red dupatta placed in front of Maa Kaali.

She could hear the loud laughter coming from the living room and the monsters discussing about pulling each and every woman in that house for satisfying their hunger.

Kaali Ma's eyes turned bright red, and big droplets of blood fell on her.

The speed of the wind started getting more fierce, indicating destruction.

Just then, the men pulled the hairs of the women of her family and threw them before her.

The men, who had long surpassed the realm of humanity were about to butcher the remaining women when she rose with a loud scream.

With just a single red cloth draped like a sari and a loud scream, she took hold of the thrishul and pierced it on the first monster's chest.

Her chest heaving in anger, eyes bulging out from her sockets, her once beautiful spotless face, was covered with the red blood that sprouted like a lava from the man's chest.

With her right leg on his stomach, left leg on the ground, the thrishul pierced deep in that monster's chest.

The wind kept blowing furiously, swaying her long hair that was matted with his blood.

Once she was sure that he was dead, she looked up with her red eyes.

The thugs who had accompanied that monster to demolish their home got afraid and tried to run away.

As though hearing her voracious roar, the doors to exit closed with a bang.

Pulling the thrishul out, she marched slowly towards the one nearest.

Before he could take his knife, she held his neck and lifted him in the air, with his legs swinging desperately.

With a ferocious roar, she threw him towards the window.

The glasses shattered and flew in the air.

Every occupant protected themselves from those flying shards of glass, except her.

Standing with the thrishul in one hand, she turned towards her next target.

Backing away with fear, the man fell down, stumbling on the carpet.

Not wasting time, she reached him and stamped on his hand and pierced his eyes .

In a swift move, she cut off his body into two, and kept inserting and exerting the thrishul in his heart.

One by one, she killed all those men, who had breached into their happy home and destroyed her and her family.

At last, reaching the man who was the mastermind behind this whole evil set up, she severed his hands.

Taking the remaining acid which he had after throwing on her sister's face, she poured the remaining acid on his manhood.

Not able to bear the burn, he thrashed on the floor and screamed in pain.

Taking hold of his hair at the crown of his head, she pulled him towards their home slowly towards the temple, throwing him in front of the big black statue.

By now, he was half conscious.

Her whole body was turning blue, but she did not pay any attention.

Piercing the thrishul in his private part, she pulled it away, only to bring it down with a roar and force, piercing it in his heart.

She kept repeating the same till her anger subsided.

The other women kept looking at her in shock and with tears in their eyes.

Drenched in blood, she walked slowly towards Maa Kaali, joined her hands together and fell down, giving herself to the goddess and becoming one with her.

Her eyes held peace after having the satisfaction of saving her family.

Not heeding to their constant cries, she gave one last look at her family with a teary smile and closed her eyes, forever.

*********

Hey guys, this is the first time I am writing something that came as a dream. Rather a nightmare.

I have added a few imaginary scenes to my dream and have written it. Hope you liked it. I have added the song in the media box, listen to it to get the feel. The song has nothing to do with this one shot, it's one of my favorites and the mood matches with what I have written.

Awaiting your response. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Thank you for reading.

Take care, stay safe.
