POV Hiccup

This new program that I'm creating for my computer is going to be awesome. It will mess up entire safety systems in banks whenever I want! It's perfect for our robberies. Yeah, I'm the computer genius and I have to admit it. Jack can barely find a game from computer and open it. That's what you get for being a bookworm.

Suddenly my phone beeped but I was still really busy with writing the code and I ignored it. I rolled with my chair to my other desk where my other computer screen was flashing. Multitasking is my kind of thing, I'm creating, downloading and writing a love letter at the same time.

Most likely the text that I got is going to be from Merida. She's going crazy with her wedding planning, nope, not because she is going crazy with planning but she's going crazy because of her mom who got crazy about the planning. Yeah, sounds complicated and it is. Merida can be quite scary when she's angry.

My eyes wandered to look at a project that I have been working on for some time. With my hand I turned the working light to point at some electronics that were laying on my project desk. I started to heat up a metallic wire since I needed to connect electronic chips to each other and then my phone went crazy with messages and my hands shook a bit. I groaned when the mother board was ruined and then I rolled with my chair back to my computer table.

With one angry grasp I took my phone from table. Merida wanted me to call her right now and I rolled my eyes. She wants to complain about her mum again. Quickly I called her back and she sounded anxious but in a different way than ever before. "What's wrong Mer?" I asked and she growled. That's new.

"That friend of yours!" She shouted and caused me to startle. "Which one? Jackson or Flynn?" I asked since she knew them both. "That artist! Jackson!" She hissed and I kept silent while waiting for her opening up to me. "You know what he did?" Merida said with poison dripping from her words.

"Uh.. what did he do?" I whispered and Merida sighed. "You should watch television sometimes and not just work with your computers.. He cheated on Anna's sister, Elsa and then dumped her! I freaking will strangle him if I see him," Merida muttered.

"Whoa! Slow down! He did what?" I raised my voice. Jack couldn't do that? Could he? I even warned him not to hurt her feelings. This can't be happening.

"He cheated on her and then broke up with her. I mean c'mon! What bastard does that?" Merida said with pure hate piercing through her words like needles. "Yeah, I know," I whispered and then we remained silent for a while.

"Hey Mer," I broke the silent with saying my words quietly. "Yeah?" She said while sounding bitter still. "I will hang up now. I'll deal with him," I said simply and she hummed. "Don't do anything that I wouldn't do," she ordered me and I laughed blankly. "Like hanging him down from a tree?" I asked.

"Precisely," Merida said with so much determination that I decided not to let her near Jack. I don't want my fiancée end up in prison from a murder of some mindless and stupid idiotic friend of mine.

When I had ended my call with Merida I gritted my teeth and my body was shaking from rage. There has to be a good explanation. Even my fingers are shaking when I'm typing my message to Jack and asking when he is at home.

Jack told me to come at his place after two hours. He isn't busy. Well, he is have to explain everything and all is going to be just fine. Nothing can be that wrong. A perfect explanation and soon we all will be laughing at this misunderstanding. I just need to act tough for a while to make him tell me what's caused this unfortunate situation.

I couldn't do anything constructive while I waited for the time to pass. My only thoughts were going round and round again with the ideas of how to ask what happened and then how to fix it. The way how my mind was trailing off was odd. Noticing myself searching the internet after gossips was odd but I found out Jack's new love and then I did more research.

Somehow everything fitted on the timeline. Everything about Jack from suddenly being too busy to see his friends, Emma or Elsa is odd. That's the same amount of time when you compare it to the days he has spent with his new love. There has to be a perfect reason, there has to be but I just haven't found it yet.

When the time was up I grabbed my coat and run to my car. The drive to Jack's house was taking ages. It also caused my emotions to go on a roller coaster while I drove. At some points Jack would meet a cheerful Hiccup, then crying Hiccup and then furious Hiccup or the reasoning up Hiccup. Some points I was literally crying, shouting or laughing on the car when I practiced my speech to Jack or how I'm going to chat about what happened with him.

For Jack's misfortune I was angry when I finally got to his yard. I slammed my car's door shut and then I paced my way to Jack's front door. I was breathing heavily because of my anger and my expression was tight. This time I don't let him turn the situation to not so serious with his stupid jokes or his way to deal with difficult things.

My fist was now beating Jacks front door and I look at my phone to see the time. I'm here, right when he told me to be. Jack opened up the door and smiled, "What's up Hiccs?" He asked and I pushed him back inside. "Is it true?" I said with my teeth grinding together and he glanced at me quickly before turning his head away. "Yeah, I broke up with Elsa because I have someone else," he said.

I was gasping for air. How could he do that? "Why did you do that?" I demanded to know and he shrugged his shoulder. "Man you're cold and heartless," I hissed and stare at him in misbelieve. Jack sighed, "The cold never bothered me anyway."

"Okay that's it," I yelled and my right hands fingers pressed against each other tightly, forming a fist. He looked surprised when my left hand grabbed his hoodie's collar and I raised my right hand. I smashed my fist straight on his face and he grunted. "You're an asshole Jack!" I shouted as I shook my aching hand after punching him hard.

Jack was laying on the floor and then he slowly stood up. "Then I am," he said blankly and wiped his blood dripping nose to his sleeve. "I'm no longer your friend, do as you please," I said coldly and then I turned around without saying anything else. He whispered my name as though he was sorry. My reaction was to slam the door right in front of him. Sometimes I wonder what happened to him, he was a nice person while we grew up but now he is a jerk.

POV Jack

My nose is bleeding and my lip is swelling, I can feel my face like pulsing as I sit on the cold stone floor. "Thanks a lot Hiccs," I murmured when I stood up. Even my elbow was aching after I fell on the floor. From the hallway's mirror I saw my reflection. There's some dry blood, cut in my lip and my eye has a black circle forming around it. I touched my nose and it didn't seem broken.

I sighed and then I heard a voice calling my name. It's Emma and she is on the doorway leading to our living room. "What happened? I heard some noise so I came to check on you," she sounded concerned and I smiled faintly.

Emma is someone who I would rather not to confront right now but it cannot be helped. "Hiccup wanted to meet me, he was kinda pissed," I said and laughed after. Her mouth narrowed, "So it's true what you did? I heard it from the radio."

My cheeks heated up and I wiped my still bleeding nose to my sleeve. "Yeah if you mean me breaking up with that ice hearted girl," I snorted. Emma seemed angry for a moment and then she bit her lip and remained silent for a moment. Gladly she can't see me in this state.

"You have someone else?" Emma whispered and I gulped. "Yeah I do," I responded and said that I'll be going to kitchen. My back was against the counter when I pressed the frozen bean bag, that I took from the freezer, over my lip. Gosh it stings.

Emma rolled her wheelchair inside the kitchen. "Are you happy?" She asked and I thought for a while. "I guess," I said quietly and then I placed the frozen bean bag on the counter. My hand reached for the cloth and I let water run over it. Then I started to wipe my face clean from the blood.

"So Hiccup hit you," Emma sighed and I hummed. "He said that he is no longer my friend but.. I think that he will be your friend still," I whispered and I felt sad. Hiccup had been friends with me as long as I remember. He was there when my family experienced the tragedy, when I lost my parents and Emma got badly hurt.

"Well, I didn't even think that he wouldn't be my friend. How are you holding up?" Emma asked and I placed the damp cloth on the counter. "Well, keeping it together," I said simply.

"Is the new girl nice?" Emma said blankly. "Yeah she is," I responded and we kept silent after that.

After me standing there for ten minutes while she sat there, I decided to go to my room to change my hoodie which was stained.

"Jack," Emma called my name when I was on the doorway. "Yup?" I said and popped the p loudly. "As long as you're happy, then I'm too," she whispered. "Yeah," I said and run upstairs.

When I had just pulled a clean hoodie over my head I got a message. It was from Toothiana and she wanted to meet me. 'Come down. I'm parked at your yard. -Tooth.' I read the message and I typed a respond. 'Just a sec. J.'

Quickly I run downstairs and I look out for Emma. Then I heard some noise from her bedroom and I went there. Just when I got behind her door and I was about to knock it I realized that the sound I heard was her crying. I stayed in that position, holding my hand up and ready to knock for a while. I listened her sobbing and I felt sad. Then I inhaled deeply and knocked the door.

"W-what is it?" Emma called out. "I want to see you," I said warmly when I heard her voice cracking. "Just a second," Emma shouted and for a moment I stood behind her door. My phone was vibrating inside my pocket but I remained here, Emma needed me and Tooth can wait a moment.

When Emma came to open up the door I saw her eyes swollen and red but she smiled anyway. "So you wanted to see me because?" She laughed but I realized that she was pretending to be alright. I leaned down and hugged her. "I'm sorry to make you feel sad Ems," I whispered and she wrapped her arms around me.

"Life just works in mysterious ways, we both know that? Right?" I said quietly and she nodded her head. Yeah, we both know how unfair life can be at times. When I broke our hug she smiled faintly. "Are you going somewhere?" She asked.

My hand went through my hair and I ruffled it. "Yeah, I'll see Toothiana but I'll come to read for you today. I promise and cross my heart," I said lovingly and she sighed. "Alright.. so this Toothiana is your new girlfriend?" She demanded to know. "Yeah, that's her," I told her.

"Have fun," Emma said and smiled a bit. Then she rolled herself backwards and closed the door. I turned around and went to front door and outside. Toothiana was there with her bright green car.

When I stepped inside she looks at me. "What happened?" Her hand touches my face and I chuckled. "I just tripped down in the bathroom, nothing to worry," I grinned. She frowned but then she sighed. "Took you some time to come. I called you a couple of times," she looks into my eyes and I smiled faintly. "Yeah I noticed but I had to tell my sister that I'm going," I told her and she started the car.
