57. Superhero.
The little me was looking at the stars,
That night when hell broke loose.
She called on me to protect her,
"Please, don't let me down," she pled.
Little brown eyes wept all night,
For her always sick mother,
When the sun came up,
She'd be wide awake with plans.
Turn the clock around,
Undo the undoable and fix it all.
Mother'd know who she was, again,
They'd be a happy family again.
In her turquoise plaid frock,
She made a promise and took one,
From herself and what she's to be.
"Won't don't let dad down. Be strong"
Of clowns and fairies she dreamt,
Waking up next to a greyer woman.
The one who still didn't remember,
The one who didn't braid her hair.
Thought of a little girl who helped her live,
Live a life not worth saving,
Keeping her promise she walked strong.
Being mom to her mom.
Is
hard.
when
your
shoulders
are
fragile
and
over-exercised
through
the
time.
But, we have promises to keep.
Battles to win and scars to heal.
So, I'll be her superhero that bleeds.
do superheroes need their saving grace?
