Minho's POV

Everyone is silent now. Now it's my turn.

"Me-me next." I stutter which is unusual for me.

My story is a simple, short, sad and sarcastic one.

I lived in China with my mum and dad and little sister Sakura. Or well I was going to have a little sister called Sakura, we thought anyway. Mum said she was pregnant and hoped it was a little girl. So she named her Sakura. Mum wasn't actually pregnant. It was a ghost pregnancy. This is when your body thinks it is going to have a baby when it's not. There was no baby. No miscarriage because there were no baby in the first place.

That shook my family hard.

But when it happened it was worst.

The sun scorched the Earth.

Buildings collapsed.

Millions roasted alive.

Literally.

But what came next was much, much worse.

The Flare was out.

Killing everyone.

Making them psychotic.

Insane.

Mum got it.

She killed dad.

Because of The Flare.

That was earthshattering for me.

To see my mum with that disease.

To see her kill dad.

You see, The Flare is a virus that attacks the brain cells. Destroying reasoning and moral. Makes you violent. Homicidal.

So WICKED came and took me away before I was killed. I don't know what happened to my mother but I can only guess. These guess' are most likely right and they are the worst thing ever...

I loved China. The bright lights.The language. The food. The city buzz.

The only buzz I get now is in my ear after WICKED has just forced an experiment on me. And my other friends like Chuck, Alby, Frypan, Newt, his girlfriend Tegan who is Thomas' younger sister, (Thomas is also a mate), and Gally.

Because of what happened I built up walls.

Walls of protection.

Walls to block people out, so they can't get in, so I don't hurt them, or them me.

That's why I'm sarcastic.

It's my defense mechanism.

My mates know this. And they are so acceptable of me. Even though sometimes I am I suppose a self-centered dick.

Now everyone has to participate in the Maze trials. Every month they send someone in these new 'Maze trials'. We've got two years until this will happen.

Alby is first.

Then Newt.

Then Gally.

Next it will be me.

Then some others.

After a year it will be Frypan.

Then Winston.

Then Chuck.

Then Tegan.

Then Thomas.

Then I don't know to be honest.

Thomas will come a couple days after Tegan, to cause panic. And so WICKED can moniter this. They are also going to tell us that Thomas is Tegan's older brother.

Sounds horrendous. But, that's my life.

I have fond memories though.

Dad.

Mum.

Gally.

Chuck.

Frypan.

Alby.

Newt.

Thomas.

Tegan.

Winston.

My favourite memory of my dad is when me and him went on a son and dad holiday to England when I was five.

Just before it happened.

We stayed in a busy and rowdy city called Nottingham. Me and my dad went to an Ice Hockey match on day four of the holiday and we watched the Panthers vs the Sheffield Stealers. We supported the Panthers. (Me and dad could speak fluent English so nothing was a problem language barrier wise). The Panthers won six-four. Such an intense game. I loved it. My dad got me and him a Panthers wristband and I still have it somewhere. I was wearing it the day I was took away...

Three weeks later after that holiday The Scorch, (when the sun scorced the Earth, and where the affected places are); and The Flare happened and you know what happened next.

Fondest memory of my mum is when she used to make Haiku poetry with me and then make them into stories. We'd even draw pictures to illustrate them. That is until she got The Flare.

Best memory of Gally is when I was helping him fix something at WICKED. He taught me so much and he was really patient with me. We had a great laugh.

Chuck is great and all. One time about two weeks ago we had some downtime at WICKED. Me Chuck, Thomas, Tegan and Newt were messing around in an outdoor area. We were doing running races. Thomas was the referee and Chuck was on my back. We were team Chuckho. Tegan was on Newt's back, they were team Tewt. (This was four days after Tegan and Newt started dating). We were all laughing and joking and me and Chuck won. Tegan and Newt didn't care. Tegan started singing and dancing with Newt - she's a great singer - and they were so in love with each other, even then. They've loved each other for most of their lives' and it was four days ago before this when they finally got their head's out of their ass' and started dating. They've been falling for each other most of their lives' as Newt and Thomas have and are best mate's all their lives. So Tegan grew up with Newt and him her. Still are in love now. Me and Thomas watched them with happy grins plastered onto our faces'. Chuck then proceeded to try and dance but he couldn't. He realised this and made it into one big joke.

My best times with Frypan is when he's cooking. Smells delish always. I remember when he tried to teach me how to cook a basic meal, it didn't really work. But still, we were pissing ourselves with laughter.

Alby. He's naturally a leader. He's so good with us. Very gentle but he's the one who controls us. Convince's us not to try and break out. He points out the reality of doing this:

The Scorch.

The Flare.

What then?

That's my best memory with him, bringing us back to reality, the real world. Stopping us all from doing something stupid.

Newt. One of my best mate's. Like Thomas. Newt and me instantly and automatically clicked. We just got on straight away. Newt has this amazing ability, he keeps us all together. Always uniting us. Even with arguments or whatever. He's there. He's on it. Newton is the guy that everyone comes to for help, for understanding. I've got so many incredible memories with him I can't say my best because I can't choose.

Same with Thomas.

Thomas, Tegan, and Winston used to live together before WICKED. Winston's parent's chucked him out for being gay. Winston being Tegan's bff thats why they took him in only for a year though as...

It happened.

But all three of them grew up together still. And Newt. Newt has always been Thomas' best friend. So this is how Tegan and Newt have been falling for each other all their lives'.

Anyway, as for best memories with Tegan again I can't choose my favourite memory. However, I love her secret badass side and I find it hilarious when she's on her period around my group of boys. I mean she nutted me in the balls one time with her foot because I'd pissed her off at the time.
