Deep Down You Already Know The Truth


A.N -So sorry! My cousins had introduced me to WOW and its freaking awesome! But at one point I realize I gotta update my story or else there'll be a mod at my door.

Oh, and be mindful of Ginko's flashback, pretty sure it's not your cup of tea.

Last time on She's My Cousin...
He grabbed the item, spinning around before facing Zabuza's clone when he did, before opening it and saying, "Demon Wind Shuriken: Windmill of Shadows!"

I heard the other girl, Sakura, gasp excitedly as I held Ginko closer, looking away from the fight to wipe away her tears, causing her to look at me and whisper so quietly that I almost didn't hear her.

"They made me do it."

Tazuna's P.O.V.

I held Ginko closer and looked up when Zabuza spoke.

"A Shuriken? You'll never touch me with that."

Sasuke jumps into the air and throws the shuriken, but it fly's right past the clone and straight for the real Zabuza. He caught it of course, but there was another that was hidden within the others shadow.

I unconsciously tighten my hold on Ginko as I watched the shuriken get closer and closer to Zabuza until he jumps without looking his hold on the water prison.

"I told you, a shuriken can't touch me!"

Suddenly the shuriken disappeared in a puff of smoke, only to be replaced by the idiotic blonde. I gasp in shock, along with Sakura.

"That's my Sly Fox," Ginko said quietly. I look down to see her hand glowing a pale green color as she held it over her ribs, a smile on her face.

"Eat this!" The blonde yelled and I looked up to see him throw a kunai at Zabuza. The assassin removed his hand from the water prison to dodge, but he wasn't quick enough. The kunai had cut him just under his eye, making all but Kakashi and Ginko gasp in shock.

Zabuza growls, spinning the shuriken. "I'll destroy you." Ginko suddenly stands and moves forward, stops when Kakashi stops the shuriken with his hand and the blonde falls harmlessly into the water.

"Kakashi Sensei," Sakura shouted just before the blonde popped out of the water.

"Naruto, That was an excellent plan. You've really grown, haven't you?" Kakashi said, making Naruto laughed. "I knew I couldn't beat him with my shadow clones. That was just to distract him. While he fought the clones, I turned into the demon wind shuriken. He didn't know what to do. Believe it," he said, pointing to himself. 

"I used one of the clones to transform into the shuriken. When I threw it to Sasuke, it looked like a real shuriken. Sasuke could tell it was me in a second. He spun around so no one could see and pulled out his own shuriken. Now there were two shurikens. One was real. One was me. I hid in the shadow of the real shuriken. And my target was the real Zabuza. Of course, I knew that I couldn't fight Zabuza myself like Gin. That was the original game plan with Gin as the shuriken. I just wanted to get in there and break up his water prison. I didn't know his clone would be wrecked too. Ha. That was a bonus. Believe it."

"Don't brag. You just lucked out," Sasuke said, making my blood boil.

"The whole thing as just a fluke," I shouted angrily.

Ginko's P.O.V.

"I got distracted and lost my grip on the water prison," I rolled my eyes, a smirk evident on my face.

"Don't flatter yourself. You weren't distracted. You were forced to let go," Papa said. "Your technique worked on me once. But it won't work again. So what's it going to be?" It was quiet for a moment before Sasuke looked at me, "You alright to continue Ginko?"

I nodded, "Always will be, Kitten." I saw him give me a curious look before saying, "Alright, you two know what to do." Sakura, Sasuke and I both nodded before stepping in front of Tazuna.

I watched as Zazu fixed the shuriken so all four blades were on Papa's hands, pushing them down and making Papa grunt at the strain of trying to hold the shuriken back. He soon pushed the shuriken up and aside, sending it flying off in a random direction. They then jumped back from each other, Zazu making a hand sign and I could see Papa already copying it and begin to perform the same hand signs as Zazu.

"The Sharingan," Sasuke said as they began to mumble something, my guess being the signs they were performing. When they finished, they both yelled, "Tori!" just before the water began to form into dragons, both saying, "Water style. Water dragon jutsu."

The dragons swirled up together, almost as if dancing, before charging at the opposites caster, crashing into each other and creating a giant wave. We all braced ourselves as the wave hit us. The force of the current trying to drag me along while I fought against it reminded me of the first time I disobeyed Master Neikan.

"You will learn to obey my every command, and not refuse me again. You will learn to obey. Fifteen lashes are your punishment. Yami, hold her."

Lady Yami, Master Neikan eldest daughter, came to hold me in place by grabbing my wrists in a vice-like grip and pulling me towards her as my bare stomach pressed against the stump on the ground. I look up at her and see the evil, sinister smile on her face. It reminded me of her fathers.

I could hear the lash coming before I felt it, and I cried out in pain as the cat-o-nine-tails whip met my bare back. It was more painful than I could've ever imagined, and I could feel the blood running down my back.

He continued to lash more marks onto my back, each one more painful than the last.

2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10... 11... 12... 13... 14

I heard Master Neikan grunt as he swung with all of his might, trying to make the last hit count. It stung more than the four before it. I couldn't imagine what it looks like, and I'd hate to know.

"You are nothing but my slave. A weapon at my disposal. You are able to breathe because I say you can. You are alive because I have allowed it. When I tell you to jump, you ask how high. When I say you must fight and kill whoever I wish, you do so without question or hesitation. You are my weapon to control, a tool for me to use and dispose of if I wish, you are my slave and you will do as I, and my clan, command. Nothing more, nothing less. Each time you disobey, you will receive however many lashes we deem fit. Do you understand? Or do I need to make myself clear once more?"

My throat felt dry and it hurt from trying to hold back my cries, but I was afraid that if I didn't say or do anything that shows that I did understand, I would receive more lashes, so I nodded as best I could.

"Good. Yami, come. Your mother must be finished with dinner already," Master Neikan said, and I instantly felt the pressure disappear from my wrists. I watched them walk away through blurry eyes as I cried.

'I just wanted to give Mama a proper burial...'

I look up to see the dragons were fighting each other while Papa and Zazu charged at each other, Papa blocking Zazu's sword with his kunai like I did earlier.

I suddenly felt another presence and sent out an unnoticeable wave of white chakra and receive a confirm that we have an unnoticed, and possibly unwelcome, newcomer. And from the feel of it, they're strong.

I pretend to not know of their sudden appearance as I watch two of the six most important people in my life jump back and circle each other, making the same movements at the same time.

"He's not just following. He moves the same way at the same time," Tazuna said in amazement. Sakura looks up at Sasuke and asked, "How's he doing that? How, Sasuke?" But he doesn't answer. I don't think he could even if he wanted to.

"Going to do next?" Papa suddenly asked, and you could tell by the look on Zazu's face that he wasn't expecting that. They continued to move together and soon Papa says, "It makes you furious doesn't it?"

"All you're doing is copying me like a monkey," Zazu starts but Papa joins in and they say, "You can't beat me with cheap tricks. I'll crush you." which pisses Zazu off and he says, "When I finish with you, you'll never open that monkey mouth again."

Zazu was in the middle of performing hand signs when he suddenly stopped, and Papa began to perform hand signs while Zazu seemed to be stuck in a trance.

"Water style. Giant vortex jutsu."

"What?" Suddenly a giant water vortex appeared, aimed at Zazu. "Impossible!" He yells just before he gets hit. The wind from the power of the jutsu pushed against us, a few water droplets hitting us hard as we fought to stay standing. When the wind died, I looked around for Papa and Zazu, and I find them just in time to see two senbon hit Zazu in the neck. We all gasp, but I'm the only one who runs towards Zazu, while they look in the direction the senbons came from.

'Zazu!'

Kakashi's P.O.V.

I landed on a tree branch of the tree Zabuza hit, looking at him over my shoulder. "You're finished," I said as the water slowly resided back into its original place in the lake. When he looked up at me, I couldn't help but see the crazed look on his face when he beat Ginko, and I felt nothing but burning hatred and the need to make him feel ten times worse than she did.

"How? Can you see into the future?"

All I could do was glare at him as I pulled out another kunai and say, "Yes. This is your last battle ever."

Suddenly two senbon hit Zabuza in the neck and I hear the others gasp. My eyes widen in shock as I turn to see who threw the senbon to see a boy wearing a Hidden Mist Tracker Ninja mask, but I never heard Zabuza's body hit the ground. The boy chuckles and says, "You were right. It was his last battle."

We all stare at him for a moment before I finally jump out of the tree and next to Zabuza's body, only to see Ginko holding onto it. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes and I felt nothing but the pain in my heart for her. "He's gone," she whimpered out, only making the pain worse.

'Ginko...'

I sighed and reach out to check his pulse, and it pained me to see her flinch and tighten her hold on him. When I touched his neck, I felt nothing. I look up into Ginko's face to see her silently crying over her father's body.

'I'm so sorry Ginko.'

I look up at the boy and he bows, "Thank you. I've been tracking Zabuza for a long time, waiting for this chance to finally take him down."

"By your mask, I see that you're a tracker ninja from the Village Hidden in the Mist." The boy came up from his bow as he said, "Impressive. You're well informed."

Naruto suddenly jumps in front of Tazuna, saying, "A tracker!"

"Naruto, you don't even know what is. You missed the lesson on it, as usual." Sakura went on to give Naruto a brief summary of who and what a tracker ninja does while I snuck a look at Ginko. She had closed Zabuza's eyes and was slowly removing Zabuza's mask, being careful of the senbon, before slowly removing them and... healing him?

'Oh, Ginko. What have we done?'

"That's correct," the tracker said, gaining my attention. "I'm a member of the elite tracking unit of the Village Hidden in the Mist. It was my duty to stop Zabuza."

'From his size and voice, he must be the same age as Naruto. Yet, he's an elite assassin? He's no ordinary kid, but what is he?'

Naruto suddenly runs up to him, stopping to look at him then to Zabuza, who was still in Ginko's arms, the senbon gone and mask back in place, and back again at the boy as he growled. He looked back at Zabuza, and I could tell he was getting frustrated. "What is this? Who do you think you are?" The boy just stares at him as he breaths heavily.

"Did you hear me?"

"Easy, Naruto. He's not our enemy," I say as I stand and put my hands in my pocket. "Huh?" He turns to me and yells, "That's not the point. Did you see what he did, just like that? Zabuza was huge and powerful like some kind of monster," I begin to walk towards him as he continues. "And this kid, who's no bigger than me, he brought down Zabuza with one move like it was nothing. I mean, what does that make us? We're just fumbling around. We don't know anything. How can I accept that?" He stops when I reach him.

"Well, even if you don't accept it, still it happened, Naruto," I place my hand on his head as I look over at Ginko as I say, "In this world, there are kids who are younger than you and yet," I look back at him before continuing, "stronger than me."

He looks at Ginko as well, a sad look in his eyes as he finally took notice of the state she was in.

The tracker disappeared in a swirl of wind and leaves, reappearing next to Ginko and Zabuza. He holds his hands out and Ginko slowly hands him over to the tracker. She must've said something to him that I couldn't hear and I couldn't read her lips properly because she was facing him, but I notice the tracker stiffen as she leans forward and kisses Zabuza's forehead. Ginko looked up at the tracker and must've said something to him because he nods, making her smile. He pulled Zabuza onto his back as she stands and steps back, giving him room.

"Your struggle is over for now. I must deal with the remains. There are many secrets in this body. They must not be allowed to get into the wrong hands," he says, then turns to Ginko and says, "My deepest condolences." She nods and bows her head. He turns back to us and says, "Please excuse me." He holds up his hand before continuing, "Farewell." He then disappears in swirls of wind and leaves.

"He disappeared," Naruto said, looking around for the tracker.

"Hmm." I grab my headband and pull it down over my Sharingan, and I can't help but remember the promise I couldn't keep for Obito. Naruto runs up to Ginko, where Zabuza and the tracker once stood. "He's gone, Naruto," I heard Ginko say as she looks up to the sky. I stare at her for a moment, seeing Rin instead. I shake my head and say, "Let it go," I add and he growls before falling to his knees, punching the ground as he yells, "What are we doing here? We're nothing! I can't believe it!"

I walk over to him and grab his wrist as she places a hand on his head, and say, "As ninja, the things we encounter are never easy. No matter what it is," I add, looking at Ginko. She looks up at me with sad, knowing eyes. "Save your anger for the next enemy," I continue, looking back at Naruto before letting his wrist go. He lowers his fist to the ground as Ginko removes her hand from his head.

I turn to the others and say, "We haven't completed our mission yet. We still have to get the bridge builder to his bridge." Tazuna laughs and grabs the edge of his hat as he says, "Sorry I caused all this trouble for ya. But you can rest at my house when we get to the village."

"All right. Let's get a move on," I say before turning and taking a couple steps, but I couldn't take another for my body was completely engulfed in pain. I suddenly couldn't stand anymore and fall forward, but before I could hit the ground, something caught me.

"What? What happened?" I heard Sakura ask as she and the others run up. "Kakashi-sensei," Naruto said from beside me as I closed my eyes and began to loose consciousness.

"Silly scarecrow, you pushed yourself too far, didn't you," a soft, angelic voice whispered as it all went black.

'Anju?'

A.N - Okay, so I know a lot of you are like 'The hell is wrong with Bakashi?' 
Well, this quote from 'How I Meet Your Mother' should help.

You see, Kakashi misses Anju so much that, when he looks at Ginko, all he sees is her, because that's what he wants to see. It was the same for Anju. All she could see when she looked at Ginko, was Kakashi. That and the fact that she looks more like him than her helped. For the Genin, when they look at Kakashi, they see Ginko.
