Chapter 17 - New Meteli

I feel exhausted from walking so much but I know I have to keep going, keep on moving. The whole village is on the line and the more people we get, the better. Aphmau said something about going to New Meteli and I asked her what it was like. She told me most people there are really nice and she is close friends with the lord there. I didn't need to know any more information so I didn't pry for anything else, I just walked while looking at the grass below me.

Aphmau stopped suddenly making me almost run into her. I was going to ask her why she stopped until I looked up to see that we were in front of huge gates. 'This must be New Meteli...' I strolled over next to her, ready to go in.

"Cloud!" She walked up to a guy that had blonde hair and blue eyes, "I need to talk to Cadenza." From what I noticed from looking at him is that he was really shy and didn't want to make eye contact. "Ahem," Aphmau coughed softly, trying to get his attention.

"Okay," He mumbled and somehow he opened the gate. I walked behind Aphmau and gave Cloud a small smile and a thank you before the gate closed behind us.

Aphmau ran up to another person and I shuffled behind her, trying to keep up. "Vincent where is Cadenza? I need to speak with her," She spoke to a guy that had black hair and crimson eyes, he also looked really pale.

"She's nearby, I can take you to her if you would like," Vincent replied with a flirtatious tone.

Aphmau shook it off and nodded her head yes. Vincent strode over to what looked like the library and went in without saying anything. I looked around the room, bookshelves covered the walls and there were a few tables here and there. 'Yep, definitely a library.' I looked over to see the librarian sort of startled by our sudden appearance. Once her eyes met mine, I gave her a soft smile. She looked pretty, she had black hair and brown eyes and wore a brown dress with silver accents and sleeves. She seemed to relax a bit when I whispered to her that everything was okay.

They both went up the stairs of the library with me close behind. "Cadenza!" Aphmau yelped. I looked at Aphmau and her face lit up when she saw this person. I looked to my side once I got up the stairs to see a woman with orange and red hair with pale blue eyes. Next to her was a man that has black hair and light blue eyes. Both of them were dressed in armor.

"Aphmau!" The woman's eyes lit up once she saw Aphmau. She stumbled over to her and hugged her. Aphmau, of course, hugged back. 'This must be the lord.' She let go of her and smiled, "What are you doing here? Do you need a dress? Or maybe-"

Aphmau cut her off, "Cadenza this is serious. I need your help, Phoenix Drop is in trouble."

"What? What's wrong?"

"We got informed yesterday that Tu'la troops were on their way, and they're not friendly," I spoke up, grabbing their attention.

She shook her head, "That's awful! What do you need?"

"People and supplies," Aphmau answered, "We need all the help we can get."

"Sounds like it's going to be big."

"It's Tu'la, of course, it's going to be big."

Cadenza nodded, understanding, "I'll send as much help as I can but I won't promise it's going to be big."

"Anything will help."

She nodded and Aphmau headed out, me stumbling behind her. She sighed, "I don't think we have much time so we're going to go to one more place... Scaleswind."
