Prologue
Welcome to the story that you may recognise from my previous attempt. I have aged much more sense then and have decided to remake it so here you are. Enjoy.
Max groaned as he heard the annoying beeps of his alarm clock. He sat up and turned it off as he rubbed the sleep away from his eyes. He checked his phone as he got out of bed and then gasped.
Today was the day he had to go to the towns asylum to 'foster' a patient. He had signed up for this unwillingly. His best friends, Sky, Ross, Jim and Barney forced him to house this patient.
Though, he had to admit, he was a little excited to not be by himself in his house. Even if it was only for two months.
And besides, Max thought as he made a bowl of cereal to eat, it said that if the patient could function properly without incident they may be able to rejoin society.
Max smiled at the thought. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. He quickly finished getting ready and left to get to the asylum. Once he got there he parked and walked up to the gates.
The gatekeeper looked at him and smiled before giving him paperwork to fill out and asking him questions.
"So you're the one scheduled to pick up the patient today?" She asked. Max nodded in response and she checked to see who he would be getting.
"So it looks like you got Jessica... Fyre... Oh..." She seemed to look sad at that. Max was genuinely confused but also surprised. My new guest is a girl? Oh the guys are going to get a kick out of this.
"What's wrong? You seemed upset reading her name off." Max asked, genuine concern laced in his voice.
She sighed before replying, "Yeah it's just that Jess has been in here since she was a tyke with her brother but he got adopted when they were ten.
"Since then, because of the program, poor girls been in and out of the hospital. Something always seems to go wrong with her visits and they bring her back or she comes back.
"She's a really sweet young lady, amazing manners and great talent. It's a shame. Anyway, the director is waiting just inside those doors. He'll take you through through to her and let you know anything that can be done to make her comfortable and what to avoid. Have a good day!"
Max smiled at her and after thanking her and returning her favors and walked through the door.
The man that greeted him was of average height and looked to be in his mid-thirties. He had dark hair with gray peppered through it and had a comforting smile. He greeted Max with a handshake.
"Good morning Mr. LaPlume. My name is Dr. Noreyma. It's nice to meet you. Now I have you down to take our longest living resident. I have hope that this will be the last time she will be leaving. If you have any questions I'm all ears."
Max actually did have a couple of questions. "Um yeah I do have couple actually. The guard at the gate said that I had a woman named Jessica who's been in and out... Can I ask why she's been here so long?"
Doctor Noreyma smiled sadly." Unfortunately that is not up to us to say but I will tell you about her if you like." Max nodded, he would like to get as much information about her as he could before he brought her into his home.
"Alright. Well her name is Jessica Aphmau Fyre. She is twenty three years old and has been with us since she was five. She has an identical twin brother but he doesn't live here anymore. He was moved to the orphanage and adopted."
Max decides to quickly toss in,"What's his name if you don't mind me asking?" The doctor just sighed.
"I wish I knew but she's been here longer than almost any of the staff and anyone who was here when she got here and still works here won't say anything. She won't say anything either but we still have high hopes that she will be able to leave this time."
Max smiled at the man before asking," So I read on the papers something about transferring her to a job?"
"Oh yes. So when one of our patients leave the facility they aquire a job to help with their host. You will be escorting Jess to the local maid café." He responded.
Max could feel himself blushing already. He had been to the café only once on a date and he noticed how it was fully staffed with very... Well rounded women.
He was screwed. Completely and totally boned.
Doctor Noreyma continued to give him small fact like if she had any allergies (she didn't), her favorite food (any type of pasta) and little basic facts. He also mentioned that she has a particular dislike of shirts.
Shit.
After a long walk they stopped in front of a door that was covered in drawings.
"She's a particular favorite of the others here so there may be a chance she isn't in right now." Doctor Noreyma stated.
Max nodded and watched the doctor knock on her door. Max was stunned at the young woman who answered the door.
She was on the shorter side maybe five three or five four. She had long black hair pulled back into a ponytail. Jess had stunningly beautiful Amber eyes that were strangely familiar and glowing tan skin.
Max watched as her eyes raked over his figure before she smiled sweetly and held out her hand. Max almost melted at her smile as he grasped her hand.
After she shook her hand she backed up and bowed before speaking and Max almost had a heart attack at how her voice poured out of those pink lips like honey.
"Hello. My name is Jess. And you are?" She asked calmly as Max blushed.
"Oh... My name is Max. It's a pleasure to meet you." He responded, secretly glad that he can control his stuttering.
She smiled brighter and Max smiled back. Doctor Noreyma cleared his throat and looked at Jess.
"Do you have everything packed Jess?" She smiled sweetly and nodded before going back into her room and popping back out with two suitcases and what looked like a guitar case.
Jess took the time to say goodbye to people as Max signed the temporary release papers and then they left for Max's house.
When they pulled up to the house Jess just stared as she grabbed her stuff. Max smiled in her direction before leading her inside and giving her a tour.
"And this is your room. I'm right down the hall if you need me. You're free to do what you will but my friends are coming over tonight. They kinda want to meet you. Would that be alright?" Max asked at the end of his tour.
Jess nodded." Oh definitely that's fine. What time will they be here I might go for a swim."
Max blushed lightly at the thought of Jess in a bathing suit." Oh they'll be here in a couple hours so go ahead. I'm going to go make lunch I'll come get you when I'm done. Enjoy the pool."
Jess thanked him and retreated to her room and Max went downstairs to the kitchen to make spaghetti for lunch. He was chopping tomatoes for the sauce when he heard Jess clear her throat.
He turned around and lost his breath. Jess looked absolutely stunning in a purple bathing suit that looked like a bikini but the top and bottom were connected by a strip of blue. She smiled sweetly.
"I forgot to ask, where are your towels?" She asked politely in her sweet voice. Max blushed and cleared his throat, trying to regain his thoughts.
"Upstairs in the hall closet. Lunch will be ready in about an hour so enjoy." Max replied. She smiled and thanked him before heading towards where she was directed.
An hour later and the food was ready so Max went out to get Jess and blushed when he called her out of the pool. When she exited the water he couldn't breathe once again.
Only when she pulled the towel around herself did he regain his ability to breath. He smiled at her as she helped set the table.
"Is it alright if I go back out after this?" Jess asked before she started eating.
Max smiled and nodded, "Of course. I might join you because I need to get my laps in today." Jess smiled and agreed.
Max watched Jess's face carefully as she took the first bite and smiled as her face lit up.
"Oh my god! Max this is amazing! Thank you so much I love it!" She exclaimed after swallowing. Max smiled as she kept shoveling the food into her mouth.
"I'm glad you like it. I'll make sure to teach you how to make it sometime." Max laughed softly. Jess choked and swallowed before staring at him, her big amber eyes sparkling.
"Really? Thank you so much Max you're amazing!" She replied. Max smiled and blushed softly before nodding.
They soon finished and Max ran upstairs to get changed so he could go swimming. He changed into his red swim shorts and ran downstairs with his towel.
Jess smiled at him before they jumped into the pool to swim for the rest of the afternoon.
Then the doorbell rang...
