❛ we're going to a concert?! ❜

WE QUIETLY MAKE OUR WAY into the gala trying not to get caught "Finally," Katy sighs as she steps out like it was center stage.

"My people. Lucky I wore diamonds," Katy adds showing us mom's diamond earrings on her.

"No, Katy, you didn't. Really?" Jenny exclaims worriedly, I hear the camera go off. Lola never misses a moment.

"It's Friday night. What did you expect me to wear, pearls?" Katy snorts.

"I happen to be wearing pearls that grandma gave me," I mumble towards Katy.

"Hey, it's mom," A.J. gasps.

"Where?" Jenny asks mortified.

"Oh, no, this is a nightmare," Jenny adds.

"No, it's actually a really good picture. It's intense," Lola states focusing on her picture.

"Not the picture," I clarify.

"If she sees me, I'll never get that recommendation letter. How did you forget the Andersons' were gonna be here tonight?" Jenny asks.

"I didn't forget. I have it right here on this note," Lola says searching her pockets for the note.

"Where's the note?" Lola whispers to herself.

"Ah, do you smell that?" Bobby asks smelling the food in the air.

"Fresh oregano and a hint of red pepper," he adds. Someone's arm reached out and pulled Bobby back.

"Jenny, coat room over there," Trey says looking at the other side of the room.

"Everyone duck and cover. Let's go," Lola orders.

We all duck behind carts of foods, I was with Trey, he held out his hand and I grab onto it, so I don't get lost. We arrive in the kitchen "And these are my people," Bobby laughed.

"Oh! I can't serve this," one chef yells.

"It's original creation. C'est magnifique," the other chef says in a French accent.

"It's dog poop," the first chef exclaims, I giggle at his comment.

"You are dog poop," the French chef says as he squirted chocolate frosting onto the first chef.

"I quit!" He barks throwing his chef hat somewhere, which conveniently landed right into Bobby's hands.

He walks away in big, angry steps saying something in French which I didn't really get 'cause he was too angry, and fast. We quickly ran to the side "What's taking so long? The guests are waiting for dessert," the host yells to the chef. We ran into what seems to be a pantry.

"Okay, I'll distract the coat check person, Jenny, you find the coat," Lola explains.

"Great, good. Okay," Jenny says breathlessly.

"Uh, everyone, stay in here. Trey, Hanna, keep an eye on the... Kids. Where's Bobby?" Jenny asks as she went out to see where Bobby could be, he's with his people of course! I sat down in between Trey and Emily. Emily put her head on my shoulder as she listens to music and Trey kept his hand in mine. He looks down at me and smile.

"Look, Hanna, it's been quite the night and the things I've done are crazy but I gotta tell you something I've been wanting to say since we were little kids. I really, really, really, really, really like you. And I was wondering if we could go out sometimes? Maybe to Mario's?" he asks anxiously with a heavy nervous laugh.

"Um... Trey, I like you too. Tonight was definitely a night to remember. And yes, I would love to go out sometimes," I look down and see Emily smiling, I wonder what's that all about.

We waited and waited. It began to start feeling like forever before I eventually fell asleep on Emily's shoulder. I could still hear stuff going around since I wasn't fully asleep "I hope we're not missing anything," Trey says.

"What?" Emily asks.

"Nothing. Crouton?" I felt Emily shake her head.

"So... Why did you want to do that to your hair?"

"I don't know. Because. I'm... Boring."

"You're not boring," Trey addresses.

"Yes, I am," Emily argues.

"No, you're not. To tell you the truth, I think you're pretty cool," Trey comments.

"You do?" Emily asks shocked at his comment.

"Yeah. Your music's what's boring," Trey teases. I woke up laughing at the two.

"It is not," I argue jokingly backing up my sister.

"Yeah, it is."

"Yours is boring," Emily and I exclaim. I'm glad we were all getting along.

"Come on, guys. Time to go," Jenny yells. I saw Lola take a picture again.

"A.J., let's go, come on," Trey says waking up his sister. Trey grabs onto my hands and held it tight, making sure not to have any of us let go.

We run, I bump into Trey as he stops which made me stop running, which also made Jenny bump into me. I turn to see what the commotion was and saw the pawn shop, guys. "Hey, isn't that..." Trey says.

"It's a long story. No time. Come on," Jenny says pushing us forward. We got out of the building, laughing at how fun those moments in the planetarium were.

"We did it! I can't believe it. And with an extra 20 bucks to get to the tow yard," Lola said. All us started talking about how our night was and how it's about to end. The two babysitters were having their own conversation. Glad they're getting along now. I just need to talk to Emily about me and Trey.

"Hey, Em, can I talk to you?" I ask signaling her to come over as I let go of Trey's hand and signaling him to go somewhere else, for now, Emily walks over.

"What's up?"

"I wanna talk about me and Trey. Are you cool with us?" I ask.

"I couldn't have it any other way sis. I love you and I love that you're happy around him and that he's happy around you."

"When Trey and I were talking in the pantry, were you smiling because I finally admitted to him?"

"Yeah. You've never been the one to show any feelings towards a guy at all. So, Trey must be special and I don't want to go in between you two. Plus, sisters before misters, right?" Emily laughs.

"Forever," I smile hugging her tightly.

Emily signals Trey to come over. She grabs one of my hands and one of Trey's hand. She put Trey's on top of mines "Take care of her. If you break her heart, I'm coming after you," me and Trey look at each other and laughs.

"I'm serious. I know where you live," Emily glares at Trey, we all pause for a moment continue laughing.

"But seriously, take care of my older sister. I'm watching you," she adds moving her fingers from her eyes.

"Zac Chase invited me to a concert? How could you not tell me?" I hear Jenny yell, I couldn't quite hear what Lola said as she spoke softly to try and calm Jenny down.

"You forgot. That was only the single most important phone call of my life. What did you say?" Jenny yells once again.

"Uh, not much. Uh, I might've implied that you possibly weren't interested in him," Lola says getting nervous.

"What? Why would you do that?"

"I was distracted. You saw how cute officer James is. I'm sorry, Jenny, I didn't mean to..." Lola apologizes.

"That's great. That's great because now he's there with Dominique Cassidy. That should've been me and that concert."

"Well, maybe it's not too late."

"Of course it's too late. The show is almost over, and now, we have to get the car and get back home. Just forget it."

"No, I won't. Taxi!" Lola yells "Taxi!"

"You guys, come on, let's go," Lola yells at us. We all run for the taxi, and for what I'm hoping is the last time.
