Chapter 32: Figured it out.
Lucy Heartfilia-Dragneel's POV
10 years have passed and Nashi grew up so fast. She's now 17 years old. How time flies so fast. Natsu and I are still married eventhough we face struggles and circumstances no matter how big or small it is. We stayed strong and loyal to each other. If Natsu have another girl, I would beat him and his girl to a pulp.
We went somewhere to have a bonding with my family. Raven is starting to court my daughter. I knew that this would happen. I know that Nashi has something for him too. Motherly insticts would always be accurate! We sat on the grass near the river to relax.
"Mom, I really want to learn Mimic Magic." Nashi said.
"It would take years for you to learn that magic. Are you really prepared?" I asked.
"Of course, mom. I have always wanted to learn it and be like you, mom." Nashi answered.
"Well, then I approve with your plan, Nashi. I would teach you starting on the day after tomorrow." I said.
"Thanks, mom. You're the best!" Nashi said, hugging me.
"I heard that Raven is courting you. Is that true, Nashi? Don't lie to Daddy." Natsu said.
"Yes, dad. He's courting me but you know I keep my promises. I promised that I would have a boyfriend when I reach my twenties." Nashi responsed.
"That's my girl! Don't ever break that promise or else you'll never like me when I'm angry." Natsu threatened. Nashi and Natsu bro-fisted. I just laughed.
"If you already have feelings for him, tell it to me. I want to witness in every moment that you'll have in your life." I said.
"Aww... Mom and dad, let's go and ride a boat. The moon is illuminating brightly in the skies with the stars sprarkling and shimmering around it." Nashi invited us.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Natsu and I agreed.
We rented a boat and Natsu was the first one to hop in. I folowed and Nashi as well. We tried to row the boat but we can't. We don't know how and we laughed because of that. Raven saw us having hard time so he volunteered to row. He seemed that he was so scared of Natsu and me that he will do anything just to have a relationship with Nashi. Ha! It would take years for him to pursue his love for my little princess.
"Nash, our friend, Cubu, will have his birthday on Saturday. Each and every one of us is obliged to attend. Would you like to come?" Raven asked.
"Of course, I would for my dear friend!" Nashi exclaimed.
"Did I give you the permission to call her 'Nash'?!" Natsu glared. I saw Raven tremb in fear.
"Dad, I let him call me that so let's just let him call me 'Nash'. It's fine, dad. My name won't change if he calls me like that, am I right, Rave?" Nashi said, putting her hand up in the air for an up-top. Raven responsed.
"Natsu, let them do want they want to do but not doing the things that we don't like." I said.
"Fine." Natsu replied.
"Mom, I'm really curious about learning Mimic Magic. Can you teach me, mom?" Nashi asked.
"Of course! Why wouldn't I?" I answered.
"Thanks, mom. You're the best!" Nashi exclaimed.
"It will take time to learn that magic. It took me years to learn that. Are you ready to learn that magic?" I asked.
"Aye!" Nashi answered, mimicing happy.
The day after tomorrow, I started to teach her the magic. I explained the basics up to the most complex thing in it. She seemed to undertand every detail of those. She's a fast-learner. She can get the meaning of what I'm saying. While in the middle of teaching her, I saw a sign of bad luck, a black butterfly, swarming around the 7 beautiful flowers. I don't get what does that mean. It just send chills in me. Nashi noticed me staring at the butterfly.
"Mom, is there something wrong?" Nashi asked.
"Nope, there's nothing wrong. Everything's fine. Let's just continue." I answered.
"Okay, if you say so." Nashi responsed.
We continued our session. When we got finished, I saw a figure of a woman calling me. I ran to her but she stayed so far away from me. She's a woman in her 90's, I think.
"There's a deepest secret about Mimic magic that you should know." The old woman said.
"What is it?" I asked, totally not knowing what's happening.
"There's something wrong about that magic. I could cause death to each and everyone of us. I told you, Hikari is a monster." The old woman said. How can she know Hikari? Maybe she does know her? Wait, she insulted Hikari!
"How can you say that Hikari is a monster? Well's she is not so if you're not going to say something good, I'll go now." I replied.
"If the magic continues to pass to every generation, it can cause immortality and death to everyone, especially to your self. You'll die if you even taught just a litte single detail. It depends on what is the intensity of what you did. Believe me! I'm not lying! Good bye!" The old said before vanishing with the wind.
I was left there confused. There's a part in me that has the will to believe her and there's also a part in me that has the want to ignore what she said. I walked back heading to Nashi.
"Mom, what happened? Where have you been?" Nashi said.
"Oh! I just got some fresh air. You can now go to your father. I'll just go to somewhere." I said.
"Okay, mom." Nashi said before leaving.
Years flew away after that incident. Many things happened already. Raven and Nashi are now in a relationship. Natsu and I became over-protective. Gray and Juvia's third child is now in her teens. We all have gotten older but we never changed. Nashi and I are now in the halfway of our training for her to learn my magic. In the middle of our session, I suddenly fell down to the ground. Nashi ran to me.
"Mom! Are you okay?" Nashi asked.
"Yes, I am. I'm just tired and don't worry about me. Let's continue our training." I answered, standing up.
"No, mom. You need to have rest. Let's just continue tomorrow so you could gain energy for tomorrow." Nashi replied.
"Okay but we would have double sessions for tomorrow, understood?" I asked.
"Got it, mom. Let me accompany you to your way home." Nashi offered.
Once we got home, Nashi layed me on our bed and went to the guild to informed Natsu what happened to me. When Natsu got home, he bombarded me with questions.
"Luce, what happened to you? Nashi told me what happened." Natsu asked.
"I just fell because I'm tired. Natsu, don't be so worried. I'm not sick and I'm good. You ran away from your training to be the next guildmaster just for this. Don't do it ever again." I answered.
"Okay, but if this happnens again, I'll be scampering here and be with you." Natsu said.
"Yes, Natsu. I love you." I said.
"I love you too. I'll be staying here beside you. Sleep and rest." Natsu said, laying beside me and placing his arm hugging me.
I remembered what the old lady told me several years back then. I also remebered Hikari and my training to achieve my magic now. I figure it out that the old lady was saying is true. The more that I'll teach Nashi my magic, the more that I'll be weaker to death. But I promised Hikari to pass this magic to every generation and I also promised Nashi to teach her my magic. I'll definitely teach Nashi and continue to pass this magic down no matter what happens!
