I am back with another chapter. It's been a long while since I updated this story. I've finally come to the realization that I have way to many stories. I obviously didn't meet my goal of finishing this before season 3 came out, but whatever. It's always nice to set high goals for yourself, even though you most likely won't achieve it. Anyway, enough of my blabbering. On with the chapter!

Miss Martians POV

I guide the Bio-ship through the water, following the ship transporting the captured teens. The only thoughts going through my head is the mission. Saving my brother, Impulse, and La'gaan. Saving all of kidnapped teens. I glance at Nightwing and grimace. Things haven't been the same since he revealed his secret mission to us all. I don't blame him for Artemis's death, it was all Kaldur's fault. Sure, Nightwing shouldn't have brought Artemis into this whole mess, but that's not why things have been a bit icy between us. I just don't trust him like I used to. He kept something like this from me. I thought we were close enough for him to trust me. I feel betrayed and confused and sad. I don't know what to do anymore. I continue to pilot the Bio-ship towards the location of Batgirl, Robin, and Bumblebee. We had planned out this mission for as long as we could. We accounted for different variables and made sure to have a couple contingency plans. Some of us were sent to act as captured teens and lead us straight to the headquarters. Others were brought in for defensive measures and a quick escape route. Overall, we needed to save our boys and the rest of these kids. I look at Nightwing again and can see him talking to Wonder Girl.

"How did you know about the abductee shipment place?" Wonder Girl questions the leader.

Nightwing answers immediately, "Aquaman found out about it while searching for Lagoon Boy." I frown, something makes me believe that what he said was a lie. I could just be overthinking it, but I think that Dick is still hiding something. "There it is," Nightwing states. I slow down the Bio-ship and stare at the ship in front of us. "It kinda looks likes Blue's armor," Wonder Girl comments. She's right, there's an uncanny similarity between Blue Beetle's armor and the ship. Nightwing doesn't say anything about Wonder Girl's comment and gestures at me to establish a link. "Already done," I say, not looking him in the eye. Nightwing nods and speaks to Batgirl. She and Robin are being loaded onto the ship. "We're aboard the Light's partners' ship. Also, we have a bit of an issue, Aqualad is here," Batgirl says over the mind-link. I tense and glance at Nightwing. "Stay whelmed, he isn't looking for you. Just stay quiet," He states. Nightwing turns to face me and gives me a sorry gaze. I shake my head a little and his eyes move to the floor. "You're up, Miss M," Nightwing commands, "Go get our boys back." I nod my head and stand up. I slip my hood over my head and morph my body to have gills. I turn invisible and take a deep breath. I tell the Bio-ship to open up a hatch for me. When she does, I drop into the ocean and I start to swim towards the alien ship. I shift through the side wall and end up in a large hallway. I look around before making my way to the left. I peek into different rooms, looking for Beast Boy and Impulse. After a few more minutes of searching, I find a room with pods lined up in it. I float into the room and spot two pods with bodies in them. I peer into one of them and frown when I see Impulse passed out. I check the other one and spot my brother in the same situation. I reach out to Nightwing through the mind link. "I've found Beast Boy and Impulse. I don't see La'gaan though," I say.

"Lagoon Boy is here with us and the rest of abductees," Batgirl says over the link.

"Alrighty. Let's get going then," Nightwing says, "Let's bring you all home safe and sound." I lower to the floor and hold my hands out. I stare at the pods and use my powers to rip them open. An alarm starts to ring loudly almost instantly. The remains of the pods are scattered around the floor. Impulse and Beast Boy fall to the floor at the same time. I rush over to Beast Boy and shake him gently. "Gar? Gar, it's me...." I say, "Are you alright?" He groans and slowly tries to sit up. I help him rise and get him on his feet. "I knew you would come," Beast Boy says to me with a toothy grin. I smile back at him and slowly morph back into my original form. "I thought you looked a bit shorter," Beast Boy comments when I finished shifting. I give him a small smile and I glance over to Impulse. He's already on his feet and stretching his arms. "Thanks for getting us out of there," Impulse calls out, "I'm going to find Blue!!!"

"Wait, Impulse!" I yell out. I sigh as Impulse doesn't catch my words and rushes out of the room using his super speed. "I got Beast Boy and Impulse," I say over the mind link, "Impulse sped off to find Blue Beetle..."

Nightwing sighs, "Speedsters....can you find him? It would be nice if we could all board the bioship and leave at the same time...."

"I got the docking bay secured," Superboy says over the mind link.

"Great," Nightwing states, "Be there in a minute. Everyone else make their way to the docking bay. We're going to get these captured teens home..." I make my way out of the room and Beast Boy follows me. He sniffs a couple of times, "This way!" We make our way down the hallway. We take a right turn and I start to fly in order to keep up. I spot someone moving at the end of the hallway. The body structure is somewhat familiar, but I can't put a name to his face. As we continue down the hall, I can finally tell who it is. I glare at him and land on the ground. I stretch out my arms, "You! Murderer!!!" Kaldur looks at me with an angered expression. I enter his mind and ravage through it. I think only of the pain he has caused us all. I think about how he has killed my friend. I tear through his mind as if it's tissue paper. I can make out flashes of memories as I pick apart my old friend's mind. I see images of us first starting the Team and all of the missions we used to go on together. I see him mourning over the death of Tula and him making a deal with Nightwing to become an undercover agent. I see him slowly fall into darkness as he accepts his role as Black Manta's son. I see him truly turn evil as he kills innocent people. I see him kill Artemis with glee and joy. I see him change from the man I knew to a complete stranger. I see Kaldur become the very thing he had pledged to fight. I see him become a villain. Kaldur screams as I rifle through his mind and he collapses onto the floor. I quickly retreat out of his mind and shake my head. "How could you have ended up like this Kaldur?" I ask, "You were a hero....I don't know what you are now. I-I'm ashamed to think that you were once my friend...." Beast Boy looks at me with shock and I hear someone call out Kaldur's name. A man with a mask covering his face runs up to Kaldur and starts to pull him away. "Wait!" Beast Boy yells, shifting into a tiger. He growls and the man gives a deadpan stare. "I'm not looking for a fight, not now anyways," He says, "I'll take my man. You leave and count yourself lucky." He throws a smoke bomb to the floor and he vanishes. Beast Boy tries to find him, but it is to no avail. "M'gann....you defeated Aqualad.....good job," Beast Boy says to me.

I nod, "He deserved it....after what he did to Artemis....he deserved to suffer...."

"Guys....we need some help!!!" Wonder Girl calls over the mind link, "Black Beetle and Shimmer are making this easy."

Nightwing groans, "Not to mention we're cut off aboard the Bio-ship. I have most refugees aboard, but you all need to get out of there before we can leave..."

"We'll be right there," I say. Beast Boy shifts into a gorilla and we both make our way to the docking bay. When we arrive, there is a large metal door in our way. Beast Boy steps to the side and I move closer to the door. I hear loud noises from the other side and I grimace. Things don't seem to be going so well on the other side. "Superboy is down!!!!" Wonder Girl shrieks through the mind-link, "It's only me and Batgirl now..." I frown and start to density shift through the door. The top half of my body slips through the metal door. I scan the room and spot my friends knocked out on the floor. I turn my head to the right and my eyes widen. My eyes lock on Black Beetle, whose hand is wrapped around Wonder Girl's neck. She is grunting and kicking, trying to get free. I look at him with anger and he smirks at me. He places his hand on the door and I feel pain shoot through my body. I don't know what he did, but it hurts. I yell out a little in pain before the darkness pulls me in.

My head is pounding and I can't seem to open my eyes. I can barely make out any words, but I hear Black Beetle's voice echoing throughout the docking bay chamber. "Little brother....I am putting you back on mode," Blue Beetle says, "You are of the Reach..." The Reach....is that the Light's partner? I groan a little as I finally manage to open up my eyes. Beast Boy is standing next to me, making sure that I'm alright. He helps me stand and leads me back to the Bio-ship. He helps me sit down and begins to fill me in on the things that I missed after I had passed out. Soon enough, we're detached from the Reach ship and are heading back home. "Good job everyone," Nightwing says, "The mission was a success." Everyone doesn't say anything and avoids Nightwing's gaze. I glance over at my friend and scan over his face. I can see sadness and guilt painted over his features. He notices my gaze and looks back at me. I break away from our gaze quickly. I stare out at my feet and shake my head. Things are just getting more complicated and messy.
